In an alternate universe, Steve was playing a video game while Jessie was watching, until he lost. When their mother called out to them to get ready for school, Steve wanted to keep playing. Regardless, Steve and Jessie reluctantly left the room to get ready for school. After returning from school later on, Steve opted to resume playing his video and wait with his homework until later. having seemingly figured out how to overcome a trap in the game, Steve began entering a code until he noticed that the television screen was depicting something else. Jessie told Steve that he put the VCR on, but he stated that he has not touched it. Thinking it was on the wrong channel, Steve tried to change it, only to hear Sonic the Hedgehog tell him not to. A pair of hands soon after reached out through the television and pulled Steve and Jessie into it. Inside the TV, Steven and Jessie were surprised to see Sonic in person. He apologized for bringing them in, explaining that they were in a Zone between their world and his world, and that the energy allowed him to make contact with them. Steve and Jessie look over and notice the same type of energy forming where they can return to Sonic's world. Sonic then grabbed their hands and walked them over to a wall, hoping to return to Mobius.[1]
