"Stars in the Sky" is a song featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film, as well as being the music that plays during the end credits. It was published by Republic Records and features the rapper Kid Cudi. It premiered at midnight on 25 March 2022,[1] with the pre-save happening the day before, on 24 March 2022.[2]

- The sprite animations used in the music video for "Stars in the Sky" was animated by pixel artists Crappy Blue, Presley Carvalho, and Mike Tona.
- The music video for "Stars in the Sky" contains several Easter eggs and references:
- The sprites for Doctor Robotnik are based on sprites for Axel Stone from Streets of Rage 2.
- The sprites for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles are based on their classic sprites from the Sega Mega Drive era of video games.
- Sonic's running animation is almost similar to Mighty and Ray's from Sonic Mania and Sonic Mania Plus.
- In the background in the truck chase scene, the silhouette of the Burger man from Sonic Adventure can be seen.
- A portrait of Sonic, Tom, and Maddie can be seen in the Wachowski residence. The sprites appear to be loosely based on the ones used for the ending credits of the first film and the comic Sonic the Hedgehog: The Adventures of Sonic & Donut Lord.
- Another portrait seen in the Wachowski residence is of Sonic in his disguise that he used to get in to the Piston Pit in the first film.
- The small table that can be seen carrying a bowl of popcorn in the Wachowski residence is based on Spinning Wheels.
- The title card to show the battle between Dr. Robotnik and Kid Cudi is based on the one from Sonic the Fighters.
