A star fragment with light pillar above it.
The star piece [1] (スターピース[2] , sutā pīsu ? is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog seriesStarfall Islands and can be obtained to potentially earn additional Purple Coins .
Description [ ] Each star piece is shaped like simple moravian star with multiple points around it. Having a multicolored texture with white hue, a star piece is surrounded by a bright aura with small colorful lightning spots. Large, vertical light pillars above each star piece come in multiple colors.
Overview [ ] In Sonic Frontiers Starfall event in one of five Open Zone fields. During the event, the player can spot multiple bright light pillars at medium range, that indicate the position of each star piece. Star pieces are found floating above the ground or mid-air in different, random locations of Starfall Islands . Once the player collects the first star piece, the slot machine during the Starfall event becomes active for the player to earn earn Purple Coins to gain access to the Fishing Spot mini-game. All collected star pieces are added to one total score displayed below active slot machine. Each time the slot machine restarts the process, it decreases the star piece count with one at a time.
Having no star pieces collected will halt the operation of the slot machine indefinitely until the player has obtained more of them in the Open Zone field. With each Starfall event lasting for about three minute in length, the star pieces will disappear from the Open Zone field after time is up. All remaining star pieces would not be saved to the player's progress, as once another Starfall event begins, the star piece counter on a slot machine resets to zero.
