What could go wrong while racing through a construction zone at night?

— Description, Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia

Star Light is a racecourse that appears in Sonic Drift. It is a racing track located in the Star Light Zone. It is the fifth course in all three Chaos GPs available in the game.

Description[]

The setting for Star Light is very much the same as the one in Zone with the same name in the original Sonic the Hedgehog. The area where Star Light take place is a jungle green and pine green field with city-like complexes dotting it. Fitting with its name, Star Light features a black sky dotted with stars. Additionally, there is in the background a dark city with countless lights from the windows of tall buildings illuminating it, green complexes resembling high-tech factories, and tall roller coaster-like highways.

The racing tracks through Star Light are mainly colored in alternating blue and electric horizontal stripes with similarly colored rose and white edges. On the sides of the tracks there are also occasionally streetlights.

Gameplay[]

In Star Light, the objective for the player is to race along the laid-out asphalted racetrack against other racers for a top position in the race. Racing outside the border of the asphalt track will cause the player to lose speed immediately. Additionally, the streetlights outside of the racetracks will cause the playable characters to come to an immediately stop and lose a Ring if they collide with them.

Overview[]

In Star Light, the player races on a circular racing track encompassing the entire map. The layout of the racing track in Star Light depends on which circuit in the Chaos GP the player chooses. Additionally, each racing track is littered with different power-ups and objects that the player can utilize. On each of the layouts for the Star Light racecourse, the player's object is to complete three laps of the racetrack.
