The Splitzoid is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is an android created by Dr. Robotnik and Grimer Wormtongue to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog.
History[]
The original Splitzoid was designed and developed by Dr. Robotnik and Grimer Wormtongue in one of the New Zones with the Zone's superior technology. Assigned to kill Sonic the Hedgehog, the Splitzoid invaded the Emerald Hill Zone through the Ring of Eternity and engaged Sonic, Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary. As the Freedom Fighters fought the Splitzoid, they realized each blow they landed on it only made the android create a copy of itself.[1]
Seeing the problem, Sonic lured the Splitzoids to the Ice Cap Zone, away from bystanders, where they got buried in an avalanche. However, the Spiltzoids survived and the impact only made them replicate further. The heroes soon noticed the Zone's cold climate was making the Splitzoids slow down though, so Sonic lured the original Splitzoid into an old Ice Jet, freezing it in mid-replication. With Splitzoid One stopped, its copies deactivated.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
The Splitzoid can shoot energy beams from its hands. It is also capable of flight via a build-in jet pack and is surprisingly fast in mid-fight, being almost as fast as Sonic the Hedgehog himself.[1]

The Splitzoid is equipped with an impact-induced replicant ability. Whenever it receives a hit, it creates a perfect copy of itself, complete with the same abilities as the original. Additionally, this ability seemingly negates any damage the Splitzoid would otherwise receive.[1]
Weaknesses[]
The Splitzoid and its replicates are all vulnerable to cold, as low temperatures causes their circuits to slow down. This means that they will be completely immobilized when frozen. Also, the Splitzoid's copies rely on the original Splitzoid to function. Should Splitzoid One be incapacitated, its copies will shut down.[1]
Trivia[]
- Splitzoid One's codename "R-G 1", may be short "Robotnik-Grimer 1", the robot's creators.
- The Splitzoid is the second villain to come through the Eternity Ring, the first one being Set.
