The Splats is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a rabbit-based Badnik variant created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik. They were among the first generation of Badniks Robotnik produced, but have since faded out of use.

History[]

The Splats, along with two Moto Bugs, were the first Badniks encountered by Sonic. Capable of flight, the Splats ambushed him and attempted to make him its organic battery, but failed and got crushed by Sonic's Spin Attack.[1]

Ruled by Robotnik[]

The Splats and other Badniks were called out on different assignments after that. On time, they had to defend Robotnik's Neutrino Accelerator, another time they tried threatening Tails into becoming a Badnik, and on a third occasion they tried invading the Hidden Zone. Each time though, they were foiled and destroyed by Sonic.[2][3][4] Over time, those Splats who failed to stop Sonic were melted down to be repurposed.[5]

Post-Ruled by Robotnik[]

At some point, D.R.A.T. acquired the schematics to build their own Badnik models, Splats included, without organic batteries, but Sonic and Tails handled them easily after they were unleashed.[6]
