The Spirits of the Years Past is a group that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They are a collection of spiritual beings that reside on an unnamed, barren planet. The members are embodiments of each year in history and are responsible for taking care of the Time Stream.
History[]
New Year out[]
Despite time being measured differently on every planet, each spirit represents an individual year in the universe(s). The spirits are responsible for controlling the flow of whichever year they are responsible over. On New Year's Eve, a new spirit will enter the Time Stream to guide the new year. However, if a spirit attempts to enter the Time Stream when it is not their year, the Time Waster is summoned. Should the wrong spirit actually enter the Time Stream, it would bring about the end of time.[1]
Uniforms[]
To identify which spirit represents each year, they all wear a banner that states their year. Furthermore, the overall look of each spirit is stereotypical of the era they represent. Spirits change appearance over the years, as ones closer to the current date are much younger in appearance.[1]
