The Spinning Slash is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Spinning Slash's icon takes the form of Sir Lamorak 's swords facing opposite directions while being surrounded by windy effects and leaving behind a green trail each. In gameplay, this power-up becomes Sir Lamorak spinning around his axis extending both of his swords while he is engulfed by a whirlwind.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Spinning Slash can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Sir Lamorak .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Spinning Slash by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, it will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Spinning Slash is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever it is in effect. In addition, Rival characters that make contact with the Spinning Slash or otherwise get up next to it via an adjacent lane will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. However, it will end prematurely if the playable character takes damage while using it.
The Spinning Slash can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the speed of the Spinning Slash will increase.
