Spinning Platforms are gimmicks that appear in Sonic Generations. Their main purpose is to serve as platforms that are somewhat harder to use.
Appearance
Spinning Platforms vary in size, but keep the same general appearance. They are always seen from the side, since they only appear in two-dimensional sections. Although they are mainly red, they have a blue circle with a yellow star in the middle, similar to bobbins. Yellow arrows on the red section of the Spinning Platform indicate whether it spins clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Description
Spinning Platforms are round platforms that spin so that the player must balance on them if he/she is to stay on it. Most of the time, they are necessary to continue, and they usually spin in the direction the player is heading opposite in order to slow down the player. An easy way to use these platforms is to jump off quickly in the desired direction almost immediately after landing.
