The Spin Slash is a move that was set to appear in Sonic X-treme.
Description[]
According to Sonic X-treme developer Chris Senn, the Spin Slash was intended to be an aerial jump attack move that would cause Sonic to roll into a mid-air ball and his spikes to temporarily turn metallic as they spun around his body. In gameplay, the move would have provided Sonic with a short moment of invulnerability and cause greater damage.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Spin Slash sprites were found in Jollyroger's leak of the Sonic X-treme v37 levels.
- An attack also named the "Spin Slash" appears in Sonic Frontiers, though unlike Sonic X-treme's move, this attack involves Sonic doing a powerful Spin Attack around the enemy. Meanwhile, the Recovery Smash attack from the same game is more akin to X-treme's Spin Slash than the Spin Slash move itself.
