The Spin Dash is a move that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. Utilized by several mobians, it is a technique in which the user blasts forward at high-speed with a revved-up Sonic Spin.
Description[]
When performing the Spin Dash, the user curls up into a tight concussive ball or cutting disk and homes in on their target with a high-speed Sonic Spin, whether through the air or across the ground, where they deal incredible damage.[1][2] The user can also crouch down and start charging up the Spin Dash from a stationary position by spinning rapidly on the spot before taking off at a super fast rate. The move can be used for both attacking foes and simply travelling at high speeds.
Variants[]
Rolling Combo[]
The Rolling Combo is a combination move exclusive to Sonic and Tails. When performing this move, Sonic and Tails join two Sonic Spins together to form a larger and more powerful version of the Spin Dash.
Spine Dash[]
The Spine Dash is a weaker variant of Sonic's Spin Dash, used solely by Tex the Lizard. It appears mostly identical to a Spin Dash, albeit with Tex's spines sticking out.
Trivia[]
- The Spin Dash is based on the move of the same name from the Sonic the Hedgehog video games.
