Spikes, known in Japan as Yadrin (ヤドリン Yadorin?), is a badnik from the game Sonic the Hedgehog. It resembles a hermit crab with two claws that help it crawl along the ground. Its shell is covered with spikes, which will injure Sonic if he attacks it from above. The way to defeat these bots is to roll into them or carefully aim for the very front of it when jumping.
Appearances
Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)
Spikes appears in Spring Yard Zone only. It will usually be on platforms by giant maces without chains. These badniks can be a little bit of a threat, because some players will try to jump on it by its eyes.
Sonic the Hedgehog (8-bit)
Spikes appears in Bridge Zone on the Master System and the Game Gear. Again, the best way to defeat it is to roll into it.
Sonic the Comic
Spikes is another badnik in the Badnik army of Dr. Robotnik in the British comic, Sonic the Comic.
