The Spiker is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic strip series published by Fleetway Editions. It is a Badnik variant created by Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
Appearance[]
The Spiker's main body appears to be a simple, brown ball which is comparable to the Sols'. The Spikers also have brown spider-like leg walkers on the bottom of their body and they wear a headgear on their heads that is a large spiky cone.
History[]
When Sonic arrived at the Hilltop Zone, he was confronted by several Spikers that attempted to attack him. However, Sonic was able to swiftly run past the Spikers as they attempted to launch their spiky cones at Sonic, ultimately failing to hit him. Unfortunately for the Spikers, Dr. Robotnik would then scorch the Spikers with fireballs from his Egg Scorcher for not being able to defeat Sonic.
Shortly after burning the two Spikers to a crisp, Robotnik would later come up with the idea to make Superbadniks due to his old badniks being outdated. One of the types of Superbadniks also included Spiker Superbadniks.
Powers and abilities[]
The Spikers' main weapon are the large spiky cones on top of their head. When an enemy is in close proximity, they can fire their spiky cones through mid-air at the opponent.
Trivia[]
- Spikers alongside Chop Chops and Sols are the only Badniks in the Sonic the Comic continuity to not appear in the actual comic and instead appearing only in the Sunday strips.
- However, Spiker was in the pin-up of Sonic the Comic #68.
