Sonik (born day 162, 3220) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He was an alternate version of Sonic the Hedgehog from a post-apocalyptic version of Mobius.

History[]

Past[]

After being tricked by Robotnik into believing Sally was trapped in a rocket, Sonik was sent into space and encountered aliens who provided him with a special suit, before being sent slowly back to Mobius in a sleep.

Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy[]

Sonik eventually made it back to Mobius, and woke up, soon making the acquaintance of Tailon. Much to his surprise, Tailon informed Sonic that it had been 1,000 years since he left the planet. Sonic subsequently met the descendants of the Knothole Freedom Fighters, and joined with them to form the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy. As a member of this group, Sonik battled with the robotic Brass Knuckles, as well as with the malevolent planet devourer, Robolactus.[1][2]

Powers and abilities[]

Sonik possesses the same incredible speed and agility as his Prime counterpart. He is also noted by Saleta to be a natural leader.

Equipment[]

Sonik wears a life-sustaining suit which allows him to survive without food or water. It also allows him to harness his speed power into green bolts of psychokinetic energy, which he can fire from his forehead.

Trivia[]

  • Sonik is based on Major Victory from Marvel Comics' Guardians of the Galaxy, upon which the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy are also based.
