The Sonicam is a device that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a fiber-optic camera that allows the Knothole Freedom Fighters to monitor Sonic the Hedgehog.
Description
The Sonicam is a fiber-optic camera that can give a live signal with a green, monochrome image. It was inserted on Sonic's shoe strap to watch Sonic's movement from Freedom HQ. The cam had a built-in slow motion compensator so the image stayed clear no matter Sonic's speed. It can also track Sonic's speed, velocity, and focus on objects in its field of view. Rotor mentioned it was a delicate device.
History
The Sonicam was only used once; when Dr. Robotnik had captured Amy Rose and, eventually, Miles "Tails" Prower. Sonic went to Robotnik's newly created Collision Chaos Zone with the Sonicam on. There, he raced Metal Sonic in the Stardust Speedway Zone. Thanks to the camera, Sally and Rotor were able to see Snively, disguised as Robotnik, destroying the track behind Sonic. The two then went to help Sonic after seeing that. It is unknown what happened to the Sonicam after Sonic defeated Metal.[1]
