Synopsis[]

The Sonic Story So Far[]

Once upon a time, Mobius was a peaceful world, with the Green Hill Zone being its most serene and enjoyable place, inhabited by talking animals, among whom Sonic the hedgehog was the coolest. Sonic stumbled into the lab of the only human on Mobius, Dr. Kintobor, who was creating a device called the Retro-Orbital Chaos Compressor to contain the planet's evil within six Chaos Emeralds and also helped Sonic become even faster with special red sneakers. However, a mistake by Dr. Kintobor caused the device to explode, scattering the Chaos Emeralds and transforming him into the evil Dr. Robotnik. Robotnik's reign brought chaos to Mobius, turning once beautiful landscapes into polluted wastelands and capturing animals with his robots, particularly Sonic. Despite Sonic's efforts to thwart him, Robotnik persisted, bringing trouble to Mobius and Sonic with his relentless schemes.

1. Where's That Pig?[]

A tired Sonic and his friend Tails returned home after a fun holiday. Sonic was feeling worn out, but Tails was still excited about their adventures, especially a cool train ride. Sonic wished he looked cooler with his droopy spines and thought about getting nachos and cola to perk up. They decided to relax and watch a video instead of unpacking. Sonic had a big appetite due to his super-fast metabolism. After a quick snack, they felt satisfied and decided to find their friends to share holiday stories. Sonic suggested a funny idea involving a prank gift they sent to their friend Porker. They laughed and decided to visit their friends right away.

Sonic and Tails planned a prank involving a ghost costume and a custard pie for their friend Porker Lewis, but nobody answered the door. They tried their other friends' houses with no luck. Eventually, they returned to Porker's place and found it messy, which was unusual for him. They worried that Porker might have been kidnapped. They decided to ask around, starting with a nachos bar, where they learned that none of their friends had been seen for three days except for Tux the penguin. Sonic got excited about the food and decided to have a chocolate soda before searching for Tux.

While on their way to Tux's house, Sonic and Tails discovered that Sally Acorn's place was also messy, which worried them. When they arrived at Tux's house, they found the door open and signs of a struggle inside, including a missing fridge full of fish and a message spelled out with fridge magnets saying "HELP." They smelled a strange odor resembling rotten eggs, which they associated with trouble caused by Robotnik. They spotted one of Robotnik's flying ships, but it disappeared using a new invention called the Chaos-Shift Warp Compressor Drive. Sonic guessed that Robotnik had invented this new technology, but he couldn't be sure.

2. Greetings, Your Royal Dudeship[]

Sonic and Tails realized they needed to take action against Robotnik's kidnappings. Although thinking was hard for them, Tails suggested they investigate Labyrinth Zone before rushing into Robotnik's lab. He wondered why Robotnik was capturing their friends when he usually targeted Sonic for his knowledge. Sonic announced his plan to rush to Labyrinth Zone and search for clues. After packing snacks, Sonic sped off with Tails in awe of his speed. Tails followed suit with his own super speed, eager to join the mission.

Sonic and Tails arrived in Labyrinth Zone but had a rough landing due to Tails crashing into Sonic. They encountered a king prawn named King Peter, who informed them about a hovering robot called a Buzzdownik. Sonic and Tails took down the Buzzdownik together, causing it to explode and release springs that trapped them. Tails managed to free himself by kicking out instinctively, causing another Buzzer to crash. They found a peculiar spring with microchips attached to it, which King Peter identified as important. He then left to attend to a family matter, and Sonic offered him some nachos. With one less snack, Sonic and Tails were left to ponder the strange spring they found.

Tails excitedly asked if the microchips were like fries, but Sonic explained that they were small chunks of silicon used to store information in computers. He wondered what was stored on them and decided they needed help to find out, as their snacks were running low. They set off to find someone who could assist them.

Tails, exhausted from their journey through the Labyrinth Zone, questioned Sonic's determination to find help with the microchip. Sonic insisted they needed answers about Robotnik's plans. Tails worried it might be like when Robotnik imprisoned their friends before, but Sonic believed it was something new. Their conversation was interrupted by a wailing sound below them, prompting them to investigate further underground, navigating through dangerous traps and obstacles along the way.

Tails complained about the darkness and odor in the underground caverns, but Sonic urged him forward toward the loud wailing noise they heard. They discovered a mole named Stevie playing an electronic organ and singing. Sonic interrupted his performance by giving him peanuts and asking for help with the spring. Stevie introduced himself and expressed relief that Sonic and Tails weren't looking for worms. Sonic and Tails bantered with Stevie as he examined the spring and mentioned using a device called the Wideband Interfacing Minimaxing Polyphonic Outreaching Unisynthesizing Topographizer to analyze it. Despite their doubts, Stevie plugged in the spring and prepared to play a song.

After enduring a torturous half-hour of Stevie the Mole's musical stylings, Sonic and Tails emerged from the underground caves feeling worse for wear. Tails sought solace in peanuts while questioning why a computer was hidden in such a remote location. Sonic explained that Robotnik was using these computers to search for the Grey Emerald, which could neutralize the power of the Chaos Emeralds that Robotnik possessed. Sonic speculated that the computers might be rigged to harm enemies like them upon touch. Tails then inquired about the song Stevie was about to perform.

3. It's Only a Brain-Scanning Machine, It Won't Hurt[]

Sonic's friends are imprisoned in Dr. Robotnik's newly built laboratory, where the main focus is on a robot named Eggor. Eggor conducts experiments on the captured animals, who are held in cages with thick iron bars. Despite being a robot, Eggor has a personality and considers himself Dr. Robotnik's faithful assistant. The animals overhear discussions between Robotnik and Eggor about their plans for experiments, causing concern among them. Porker Lewis, one of the captives, becomes particularly worried when he overhears Chirps Chicken excitedly talking about going on a space flight to the planet Kentuckee. While Chirps sees this as an exciting opportunity, Porker understands the ominous implications of Robotnik's plans.

Sonic and Tails have realized that they need to find out the location of Dr. Robotnik's new laboratory where their friends are being held. Tails suggests several logical steps to achieve this, including capturing a robot to gather information, searching for more computers that might have the necessary data, and consulting with other helpful individuals in different Zones. Sonic acknowledges Tails's ideas but decides to prioritize stocking up on supplies first, including pizza and chocolate soda, to ensure they have the energy needed for their mission.

Eggor tells Porker they're out of the pizza he likes, joking about the consequences of eating crispy pizza. Determined to avoid Dr. Robotnik's scrutiny, Porker questions why Robotnik is causing trouble. Eggor dodges the question and threatens to use a hypnotizing machine on Porker if he doesn't cooperate. Bringing out the complex-looking machine resembling a big gun with spiky bits and flashing lights, Eggor points it at Porker's cage. A green ray shoots out, and a hypnotic voice from Dr. Robotnik tries to lull Porker to sleep, prompting the threat of a hypnotic trance.

Late at night, Dr. Robotnik arrived at the laboratory where all the animals were allegedly asleep. He had just finished eating his favorite meal, raw eggs with a dash of hot sauce, leaving his lab coat messy with sticky egg residue. When Robotnik entered, Eggor, the robot assistant, showed him a video screen displaying Porker Lewis's brain, indicating areas of activity with colors. Robotnik was interested in using this information for a project called FAROUT. Despite Eggor's attempt to order pizza for Porker, Robotnik insisted that Porker must press a lever for his reward, citing the principle of Behavioral Conditioning. Robotnik was eager to proceed with his plans to use FAROUT on Porker and other animals to gain insight into defeating Sonic the Hedgehog, considering them potential enemies.

In reality, one animal was awake: Sally Acorn, a clever squirrel who had mastered lever pressing and nighttime eavesdropping on Robotnik's commands to Eggor. Usually, she kept what she heard to herself so as not to scare the other animals, and nothing too alarming had come up. However, tonight, while pretending to sleep, she caught wind of what FAROUT stands for from Robotnik's outburst at Eggor, and it left her feeling anxious. But fear not, we won't spill the beans on what she heard. We don't want to trouble you unnecessarily. Plus, even with whatever Robotnik is cooking up, there are still two daring heroes ready to take him on...

4. Here Come the Roaming Romans[]

Sonic and Tails decoded some important information from Stevie the Mole's song about microchips. They found out about a master computer storing data from terminals across Mobius, including the location of Robotnik's new lab where their friends were held captive. So, they decided to find this master computer, even though they didn't know which zone it was in. They traveled through various zones, facing challenges like dodging enemies and navigating hazardous terrain. But now, their energy is drained, and they've reached a critical point without their usual vigor. It's a moment of suspense as they encounter an unexpected obstacle...

Tails and Sonic were exhausted after battling robotic fish in the Aquatic Ruin Zone when they stumbled upon a group of Roaming Romans in the forest. These Romans, wearing armor and carrying ancient weapons, declared them prisoners. Despite Sonic's attempts to explain who they were, the Romans captured them using nets weighted with bronze. Sonic and Tails found themselves trapped and carried away by the Romans. Mistakenly thinking Tails was a female fox due to his two tails, the Roman leader ordered his brother, named Julius, to seize her.

5. I Can't Eat That, It Talks![]

The Roman leader, Caesar, inspects Sonic and Tails, considering eating them, but they manage to divert his attention by mentioning blueberry ice cream soda, a new invention the Romans had just made. Caesar orders their release and invites them to his makeshift throne to find out why they're in the forest. Sonic tries to cover up their real mission by claiming they're there for the ice cream soda. When Tails almost spills the beans about the computer terminal, Sonic kicks him to keep quiet. Caesar isn't convinced by their explanation but decides to take them to the amphitheater for further interrogation. As they approach the arena, Sonic and Tails realize they're in for trouble.

A few minutes later, Sonic and Tails are thrust into the arena armed with spears and nets, surrounded by cheering Romans. Caesar, enjoying his blueberry ice cream soda, gestures towards them. Although Tails hopes Caesar is ordering ice cream for them, Sonic realizes they're actually about to face giant Roman gladiators. But Sonic and Tails have a trick up their sleeves – they can jump and fly. Sonic initiates their escape plan, racing around the arena with the gladiators in pursuit. He uses his speed and agility to bounce off walls and eventually crashes into Caesar's Royal Box, splashing soda everywhere, before launching into the sky. Tails follows suit, and as they dive into a nearby lake to evade capture, they encounter an unexpected Accelerator Chute, which promises both excitement and challenges ahead.

6. A Fast Little Interlude[]

At the bottom of the lake, Sonic and Tails find themselves on the Accelerator Chute, a slimy, downward spiraling trap set by Robotnik. Sonic, struggling for air, grabs rings to propel himself upward as the chute spins him around. Racing toward what appears to be the entrance to a maze, Sonic encounters a massive Chop-Chop robot blocking his path. Remembering the rings he collected, Sonic speeds past the robot and enters the maze. Emerging at the top of the maze wall, he catches his breath and realizes Tails is missing. Unbeknownst to Sonic, Tails has managed to defeat the Chop-Chop robot by stomping on it and launching himself out of the water, colliding with Sonic. Sonic suggests Tails needs brakes to prevent such accidents in the future, leading to a lighthearted moment between the two friends.

7. More Eggsperiments![]

Johnny Lightfoot, a rabbit captive alongside Sally Acorn, feels conflicted about being in a cage. While he appreciates the opportunity to stay active with a metal running wheel installed by Eggor, he's wary of the true purpose behind the exercise – Robotnik's plan to study Sonic's speed. Despite Eggor's demands for faster running, Johnny pretends to be injured to avoid revealing Sonic's secrets. Sally intervenes, accusing Eggor of harming Johnny, prompting the robot to bring pizza as a peace offering. Sally continues to press Eggor for information about Robotnik's plans, hoping to devise an escape plan and avoid being subjected to the FAROUT machine, which she suspects is designed to harm Sonic and Tails. Johnny and the other captives rally behind Sally's leadership, recognizing the need to buy time and strategize for their survival.

8. Into the Computer[]

Sonic and Tails, exploring the underwater maze, realize there are no exits except the entrance. They consider blasting their way through the Chop-Chops outside but realize it's futile. Tails has a breakthrough, suggesting the maze might lead to the master computer terminal since it's new. Excited, Sonic leaps up, hitting his head on the ceiling, but they discover it's actually a massive metal plate with rows of glowing panels, resembling a computer control system. Sonic, eager to explore, starts bouncing off the panels, unwittingly releasing Whisps, dangerous fly-like robots, which swarm around them. Tails, airborne and armed with a few Rings, struggles to fend them off as Sonic's reckless bouncing exacerbates the situation.

Sonic and Tails, realizing the answer lies on the ceiling, analyze the panels and deduce a pattern from the Buzzdownik robot's actions. They witness the robot pressing specific panels in each row, which triggers a transfer process, resulting in a screen displaying "TRANSFER COMPLETED." Tails identifies the panels pressed by the robot, which correspond to the letters spelling out "SONIC." Excitedly, they realize they are the key to the code. Sonic and Tails enthusiastically input the code, feeling triumphant and ready to proceed with their adventure.

9. Squadron Leader Sonic[]

Sonic and Tails successfully input the code and trigger a response from the system. Tails, thinking quickly, responds with "direct data access," which prompts the system to open a secret panel. Sonic and Tails eagerly enter the chamber beyond the panel, ready to continue their adventure.

Sonic and Tails manage to escape the chaos they caused in the computer center. Although Sonic is initially disappointed that they didn't extract any information from the master computer, Tails reveals that he recorded everything on the screen with their video camera. With this recording, they can review the information later and potentially uncover valuable details about Robotnik's plans. This revelation brings hope to Sonic and Tails, who now have a plan to decipher the information and thwart Robotnik's schemes.

10. Turnip Tops or What?[]

Eggor, a robot, tells Sally to press a lever when a green light is on to get pizza and not to press it when a red light is on to avoid punishment. Sally tries to stall Eggor to avoid following his instructions. Eggor explains about "Discriminative Learning" and his temporary trouble with understanding metaphors. Sally asks about a "Lexical Access Program" and Eggor tells her it's like an internal dictionary for robots. Sally tries to argue she doesn't need to press levers, but Eggor threatens to give her bad food if she doesn't cooperate. Sally gives in and presses the lever when she sees the green light to get pizza.

Late at night, Robotnik visits the laboratory where Sally is being held captive. Sally pretends to stay awake to eavesdrop on Robotnik's conversation with Eggor, a robot assistant. They discuss their plans to brain-scan animals, including Sally, and use a machine called FAROUT. Robotnik is furious because Sonic the Hedgehog might discover their lab. He decides to use Sally as the first test subject for the FAROUT machine, despite not having scanned her brain yet. Sally worries about what they'll do to her. Eggor, feeling sorry for her, sneaks her some pizza but warns her to sleep. Sally tries to think of an escape but falls asleep. She wakes up at 8 a.m.

11. Serious Monkey Buisiness[]

Tails and Sonic are trying to decipher some computer codes but are struggling. Sonic suggests raiding Robotnik's main lab in Metropolis to find information about his new lab. Tails worries about the traps and robots they'll face. They both miss their friends who are in danger. Sonic remembers Mickey the Monkey, who might help them. Tails doesn't know Mickey but is eager to try any plan. Sonic warns Tails that Mickey talks old-fashioned but agrees to take him peanuts and nachos. Tails worries about the monkeys in Emerald Hill Zone, but Sonic reassures him that Mickey is a friend. They gather food and head to see Mickey.

Tails and Sonic visit Emerald Hill Zone to see Mickey the Monkey for help decoding information they found. Mickey speaks in old-fashioned slang and rhyming slang, which confuses Tails. Mickey reveals that Emerald Hill Zone is powered by a cable connected to Robotnik's terminal. He helps them decode the information, revealing Robotnik's secret lab in Scrap Brain Zone. Sonic and Tails are worried about the dangers they'll face there. Mickey jokes about it being his birthday and teases them with fake bad news before revealing the real bad news: a secret weapon called FAROUT in the lab. Mickey also finds a strange code mentioning "SONIC THE TOASTER." They're puzzled by this but grateful for Mickey's help, despite his outdated slang. Mickey warns them about the dangers of Sonic becoming a toaster, and they leave with a plan to face the challenges ahead.

12. Dr. Robotnik Eggsplains All[]

Robotnik, in a serious mood, prepares to test his FAROUT machine, a device that can change creatures into different forms. He plans to use it on Sally Acorn, but Eggor, his robot assistant, suggests using Johnny Lightfoot the rabbit instead. Robotnik agrees and explains his plan to use the machine to transmogrify Sonic's friends, making Sonic unable to rescue them. Robotnik starts the test with Johnny, who is sealed into the machine. As the machine hums and glows, Robotnik screams orders, and Eggor operates the controls. Suddenly, there's a blackout, followed by a bright light, and a plopping sound. When the lights return, Sally sees that Johnny has been transformed into something else, but the specifics are not revealed.

13. Raid on Scrap Brain Zone[]

Sonic and Tails are on a dangerous mission in the Scrap Brain Zone, a place filled with Robotnik's failed experiments and traps. As they navigate through the junkyard, they encounter a massive broken robot that suddenly releases two aggressive Crawlers. Tails gets caught, prompting Sonic to spring into action. Using his speed and agility, Sonic destroys the Crawlers and frees Tails. Despite the close call, they continue their journey towards Robotnik's laboratory to rescue their imprisoned friends, aware of the dangers that lie ahead.

Robotnik and his robot assistant, Eggor, discuss a failed experiment, referring to it as a "pilot study." Despite the failure, Robotnik sees it as a learning experience for future experiments. He explains that their subject lacked a complex brain, hindering their ability to turn him into a machine. Robotnik expresses frustration and plans to use a squirrel for their next test once their Transmogrification Ray recharges. He then leaves for lunch, instructing Eggor to clean the corridor. Eggor, resembling a mix between a robot and a mop, complies with the task.

Porker Lewis, Sally, Tux the penguin, and Joe Sushi discuss their fears about being turned into cleaning tools by Robotnik's experiments. They worry about what they will be transformed into and whether their minds will still be intact. Despite their concerns, they cling to hope that Sonic will rescue them before the transformation takes place.

Sonic and Tails breach Dr. Robotnik's laboratory, facing minimal opposition initially. Progressing deeper, they stumble upon rows of cages resembling animal enclosures, manned by assembly robots. Recognizing the potential imprisonment of their friends, they engage in a fierce battle against Whisps and assembly robots. In their haste, Sonic triggers a dangerous lever, enveloping them in a disorienting green light. They lose control, experience alarming sensations, and then black out, leaving their fate uncertain.

14. Squirrel Bust Out![]

Sally is held captive by Dr. Robotnik, who plans to use a machine to turn her and her friends into household items to stop them from causing trouble. Sally protests, arguing they were happy before being captured. Eggor tries to reassure Sally, but she disagrees, pointing out the environmental damage caused by Dr. Robotnik's actions. Chaos ensues when Sonic the Hedgehog infiltrates the laboratory, causing Dr. Robotnik and Eggor to scramble to capture him. However, their plans go awry when the security door gets stuck, allowing Sonic to escape into the Recharging Room, leaving the story on a cliffhanger.

Sally Acorn managed to remove the grille from an air-conditioning duct, slipping into it unnoticed while Dr. Robotnik and Eggor were distracted. Although she felt uneasy about leaving her friends behind, she couldn't free them without risking detection. Now on her own, she embarked on a mission to find Sonic and Tails, who were battling against Dr. Robotnik's minions somewhere in the facility. With determination, she navigated through the duct, unsure of her exact location but relieved to be free.

Tails found himself alone, spinning and drifting through the air amidst strange star-shaped objects, realizing he was trapped in what seemed like a Warp of Confusion. Confused and disoriented, he couldn't remember how he ended up there or how to escape. Worried about Sonic's whereabouts, Tails feared that his friend might have been captured or worse, destroyed by Dr. Robotnik. Overwhelmed by these thoughts, Tails closed his eyes tightly, hoping for the best amidst the uncertainty.

Dr. Robotnik, furious over the destruction caused by Sonic, realizes that the recharging batteries have been ruined. However, Eggor informs him that work on reserve batteries is nearly completed on time and that Sonic has been ejected from the building. Pleased, Robotnik praises Eggor and promises to reward him with upgrades once Sonic's secrets are analyzed. Eggor humbly accepts the praise. Robotnik, satisfied, contemplates an extra egg for supper. But his mood shifts when he notices Sally's empty cage, realizing she has escaped.

After what felt like hours of spinning, Tails finally lands on his back in the sand with a whooshing sound. As he tries to focus his eyes, he's surprised to see palm fronds waving and a grinning monkey picking up the scattered contents of his bag. Among the items, the monkey finds an unusual chrome-plated metal object with slots on top and a lever with a dial. Tails realizes with dread that it's a toaster, and he groans heavily at the realization that his best friend Sonic has been transformed into it.

15. Look on the Bright Side: He Makes Great Waffles[]

Tails finds himself in disbelief as Mickey, the monkey, nonchalantly uses Sonic the Toaster and begins making waffles with him. Tails is distressed, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders now that Sonic is seemingly lost. Mickey, however, points out the reality: Tails is now the planet's last hope against Dr. Robotnik. As they discuss their predicament, they notice an oddity: Sonic the Toaster seems to be cooking waffles without being plugged in, suggesting there might be some residual Sonic energy within. Mickey proposes a plan to exploit this potential and rushes off to gather waffles while Tails keeps an eye on the toaster. The duo's imaginative hope sparks a plan to harness Sonic's essence, setting the stage for an unconventional but determined effort to save Mobius. Sally traverses the labyrinthine air conditioning ducts, growing increasingly hungry, thirsty, and despondent as she encounters obstacles like factory production lines and a menacing pumping station guarded by aggressive robots. Narrowly escaping small Whisps, she remains resolute in her mission to rescue her friends from Dr. Robotnik's clutches. Lost and disoriented at a junction in the ducts, Sally's determination is reignited when she detects the unmistakable odor of rotten eggs, signaling Robotnik's presence nearby. Following her instincts, she presses on, driven by the urgent need to confront the villain and find a way to save her friends, despite the daunting challenges ahead. Mickey conducts experiments with Sonic the Toaster, using waffles as signals to communicate with Sonic's supposed consciousness. Through a series of tests, they establish that Sonic can respond to commands and even express preferences. Sonic communicates to Tails through waffles, instructing him to take him back to Dr. Robotnik's laboratory for a chance to reverse the transformation and gain new abilities. Sonic proposes using waffles as ammunition to blast obstacles in their way, demonstrating the potential power of this new ability. Despite initial concerns, Mickey rigs up a battery to power Sonic's functions, leading to a successful test where waffles are propelled at incredible speeds. Mickey decides against using mains power due to safety concerns but plans to further enhance Sonic's capabilities for their upcoming mission.

16. Eat Hot Waffle Death, Badniks![]

Tails, feeling peculiar with a bandolier of waffles around his neck and Sonic the Toaster strapped to him, approaches Dr. Robotnik's base. He communicates silently with Sonic, lamenting the loneliness of his mission. As he nears the base, he whispers updates to Sonic about the open back door and strange repairing robots. Lacking his video camera, Tails creeps toward the door but is spotted by a robot, prompting an attack with missiles. In a heroic moment, Tails retaliates with Sonic the Toaster set to 'Very Well Done', unleashing a barrage of deadly waffles at the robots. With newfound courage and speed, Tails charges through the ensuing chaos, obliterating obstacles in his path. He heads towards the heavy steel door, ready for the final confrontation with Dr. Robotnik, determined to save his friends and bring an end to the villain's schemes.

Sally observes Dr. Robotnik in his office, overhearing his plans to convert Eggor and complete his nefarious schemes. Determined to stop him, Sally plans to attack him with a metal pin, but before she can act, Tails bursts into the room, armed with Sonic the Toaster, now a weaponized waffle dispenser. In the chaos, Tails realizes he's out of waffles and Robotnik immobilizes him with a ray gun, preparing to transmogrify him into a coffee percolator. As Sally attempts to intervene, she accidentally triggers the lever on Robotnik's desk, switching the transmogrification process to reverse. In the confusion, Sally falls and loses consciousness, as the fate of both Tails and Robotnik hangs in the balance.

Sally awakens to Sonic and Tails, who inform her that Robotnik has fled and they need to find their friends quickly. Sally, still disoriented, recalls Robotnik's transformation of their friends but is unable to specify what they've become. Overwhelmed with emotion, she breaks down in tears. However, Sonic assures her they'll figure it out together and they immediately set off on their mission, running tirelessly in search of their missing companions.

17. Emperor Robotnik's Fiendish Transmogriplex[]

Tails, Sonic, and Sally come across a crumpled piece of paper, which turns out to be some of Robotnik's notes. Among them are sketches and plans for various machines, including the Transmogriplex, which is intended to transform all life on Mobius into machinery. Sonic is horrified by the implications and the urgency of the situation. Sally takes charge, emphasizing the need for swift action upon discovering that the completion of Robotnik's project is estimated to be within five days. With the deadline looming, they realize they must work quickly to stop Robotnik and reverse the transformations of their friends.

Tails, Sonic, and Sally find Scrap Brain Zone being dismantled, realizing that Robotnik is relocating the Transmogriplex to a more secure location, likely the Metropolis. As they try to retreat, they're confronted by Egg-o-Matics and Burrobots. Sonic executes a daring Super Spin maneuver to evade the attackers, causing confusion among the Burrobots, which appear to be affected by the Transmogrification Ray. Sonic and Tails decide to flee to Green Hill Zone, but not before hearing Robotnik's ominous warning amplified through Egg-o-Matic. The sight of Robotnik's massive Wing Fortress confirms their suspicions about the location of the Transmogriplex's construction, filling them with a sense of foreboding about their next move.

18. Assault on the Wing Fortress[]

Sonic and Tails prepared for their nighttime mission to infiltrate Robotnik's Wing Fortress. Despite Tails' concerns about radar detection, Sonic reassured him and outlined their plan to fly close to the ground and approach the fortress from below to potentially avoid radar detection. Tails dressed up in a scarf and goggles, inspired by what he had seen in a video about flying into battle, but Sonic found it amusing and assured him he didn't need them. Despite feeling a bit disappointed, Tails trusted Sonic and boarded their vehicle for the journey ahead.

Sonic and Tails were caught off guard as the massive Balkiries descended upon them. Sonic recognized them as Balkiries, but he knew these were different—enhanced with something extra by Robotnik. Meanwhile, on the Wing Fortress, Robotnik barked orders to Eggor, commanding him to fire the air-to-hedgehog missile. With precision, Eggor activated the missile, and it shot forth from the Balkiry, hurtling directly towards Sonic and Tails, threatening to end their mission before it even began.

As Tails held on for dear life to the missile, he found himself inadvertently triggering a mechanism on its surface. Suddenly, the missile changed trajectory, veering away from Sonic and heading directly back towards the Wing Fortress. Tails's heart raced as he rode the missile, his panicked yells echoing in the air. Meanwhile, chaos erupted on the bridge of the fortress as Robotnik realized the impending danger. Eggor calmly informed him that the defensive shields were disabled, a consequence of Robotnik's own orders to prioritize factory production. With impact imminent, Robotnik's fury reached new heights as he cursed his own actions. The countdown to impact ticked away ominously, leaving Robotnik and Eggor facing the consequences of their decisions.

As Tails joined Sonic, he shared the news of his discovery: he had found and activated the auto-destruct sequence before Robotnik could escape. With the clock ticking, Sonic nodded grimly and they both dashed out of the control bridge, racing through the corridors of the Wing Fortress. Behind them, alarms blared and lights flashed as the countdown to destruction began. Navigating through the labyrinthine corridors, Sonic and Tails encountered various traps and obstacles set up by Robotnik's security system. They narrowly avoided deadly contraptions and swinging pendulums as they sprinted towards the exit. With every passing moment, the intensity of their escape heightened. Finally, they burst through the hatch leading to the outside, where they were met with the sight of the Egg-o-Matic capsule ascending into the night sky. The auto-destruct sequence continued its countdown, and Sonic and Tails knew they had to act fast. Without hesitation, Sonic scooped up Tails and they leapt into the air, soaring away from the fortress just as it erupted in a spectacular explosion behind them. As they watched the fiery destruction of Robotnik's Wing Fortress, Sonic couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. They may not have captured Robotnik this time, but they had dealt a significant blow to his plans and escaped to fight another day. With the Wing Fortress reduced to rubble behind them, Sonic and Tails flew off into the night, ready to face whatever challenges awaited them next on their quest to save Mobius from Robotnik's tyranny.

With a nod of agreement, Tails followed Sonic as they flew off into the night, leaving the smouldering wreckage of the Wing Fortress behind them. As they soared through the darkened sky, Tails couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in their victory. Despite the challenges they faced, they had once again triumphed over Robotnik's evil schemes. And with Sonic's determination and leadership, Tails knew they would continue to fight for the freedom of Mobius. But for now, they would take a well-deserved break and indulge in some much-needed nourishment. As they descended towards the safety of Green Hill Zone, Tails couldn't wait to join Sonic in a feast fit for heroes. With their bellies full and their spirits high, they would be ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead in their ongoing battle against Robotnik and his diabolical plans.
