- The cover for this volume is based off the cover for Sonic the Hedgehog #84.
- The reflection of Perfect Chaos in the background has the same appearance as Perfect Chaos had in the console/PC version of Sonic Generations.
- This is the first and only volume in the Sonic Archives series to feature Super Sonic on the cover despite him having appeared in the series since Sonic the Hedgehog Archives Vol. 1.
- Earlier solicits for this volume stated that Sonic the Hedgehog #85 and Sonic the Hedgehog #86 would be included, with no mention being made of Sonic Super Special #13. This was changed in later solicits.
- In some solicits, it incorrectly states that Hyper Knuckles took part in the battle against Perfect Chaos, despite this transformation not appearing in the featured stories. This was fixed in later solicits.[1]
- This is the first volume in the Sonic Archives series to have the names of some of the writers and artists written on the front.
