This is a transcript for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.

[The film opens up with the Paramount Pictures logo, with Rings being in the place of the stars flying across the ocean and forming the iconic arch over the mountain. The SEGA logo then appears, showing multiple games made by the company, and the Original Film logo is presented against a black background in red text before fading out and fading into a new scene]

[Scene: Prison Island, night]

[The scene opens up in the middle of the ocean. The camera scrolls up to reveal a small island with a military base on it. Computer text reads out "Prison Island". Tokyo Bay, Japan. Thunder is heard from the distance. The scene cuts to inside where a G.U.N agent holding a tablet walks through the halls, past two soldiers holding guns as they stand guard. the door opens as he marches through. He walks up to a control panel where another agent, Kyle, watches something through the glass while eating a doughnut]

Agent: Oh, yes! [puts down tablet] You got donuts.

Kyle: I already ate all the Boston Cream.

Agent: [annoyed] Kyle!

[Kyle shrugs, as they both look through the glass. On the other side stands a large fluid-filled stasis tube, pipes and tubes connecting to it and steam blowing out from the bottom. Inside, in cryogenic stasis, Shadow floats in the center]

Agent: This place gives me the creeps.

Kyle: Relax. That Popsicle hasn't moved in 50 years.

[The camera cuts to Shadow, and he remains motionless. However, Shadow is remembering things in his mind: someone playing a song on a guitar, and then holding hands with a girl while watching the stars. Back in the present, Shadow's eyes move slightly as he recalls another memory: running through the halls of a base while holding the girl's hand as alarms blare and lights flash. Soldiers are following them. In the memory, Shadow loses his grip on the girl's hand. Once again the scene cuts to the present, and Shadow's hand moves. He scowls and furrows his brow. From the control room, a monitor picks up a pulse, and shows his heartbeat. The Agent next to Kyle notices]

Agent: Is that normal?

Kyle: No.

[In his chair, Kyle moves to a digital computer, but is shocked]

Kyle: Someone's hacking the system.

Agent: What?

[The digital computer shows a glitched screen, reading "Access Denied" before it reveals a red Eggman logo]

Kyle: The containment tank is destabilizing. [Looks to the agent] He's waking up.

[The Agent looks shocked from what he has just heard. Kyle then gets up, and the Agent dashes to a wall and presses a red emergency button. Across the island, searchlights turn on as alarms wail loudly. G.U.N soldiers grab their guns and head down the hallways and into the containment room. Numerous soldiers head down the staircase and point their guns at the containment tank. On the monitor, Shadow's heartbeat increases. Everyone watches as Shadow then moves around in the tank. Then, on the monitor, his heartbeat stops. His expression turns calm again. One of the soldiers sighs in relief. A bubble rises in front of Shadow, and his eyes suddenly open. He scowls, makes a fist in his left hand, and punches though the glass. Steam and liquid burst out of the tank as the soldiers are taken off-guard. Shadow walks out of the hole in the glass, scowling at the soldiers, orange chaos energy flowing in his eyes, before he suddenly vanishes. Suddenly, he re-appears behind one of the soldiers, and kicks him in the face before vanishing. Everyone looks around in shock, before Shadow then uses his leg to uppercut another soldier, then teleports to spin kick another. Shadow then gut kicks one soldier, making him fall to the ground, and uppercuts one to the wall. One soldier aims his gun, before Shadow appears and kicks another soldier, and then punches him in the face. He then speeds at another soldier punching him, and trips another, and then uppercut kicks another, until there is only one left. The remaining looks around fearfully, aiming his gun, and then hears Shadow's teleport behind him. He turns, only to see Shadow punch him straight to the observation window, breaking the glass. Kyle and his agent friend look on in fright]

Kyle: We need more guys.

Agent: That is all the guys.

[The soldier on the glass finally falls to the ground. Outside, Shadow breaks through the walls of the facility and walks to a ledge. He looks on to see Tokyo in the distance. He then teleports off the ledge and to the sea and proceeds to hover skate over the water to the mainland, a determined look on his face. The camera zooms into his eyes and we see a sphere with two spiked sides, one blue, and one black, as the title appears: "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" with the 3 in red. The camera cuts to a new scene]

[Scene change: Green Hills Forest, Day]

[Cut to a campsite in the forest. We see Tails crouch down into a running start pose, fluffing out his twin tails. Then Knuckles pounds his fists to the ground, a determined look on his face. Finally, Sonic enters, walking between them, wearing a pair of sunglasses, swimming flippers, wearing a rubber duckie inner tube with sunglasses, and chomps down on a chili dog.]

Sonic: [mouth full] Wait a second. I thought we were going tubing. [lifts sunglasses and looks around] Hold on, hold on. Is this a race?

Tails: You're going down!

Knuckles: It is my destiny to claim the throne of Family Champion, hedgehog.

Sonic: [laughs] Cute. Are you sure you wanna challenge the fastest creature in the universe? I mean, that's kinda my whole brand.

[Sonic then spins in a blue tornado, taking everything off, before he is race ready, going into a running start pose. Across from the three, Tom and Maddie stand ready, the former rubbing his hands and the latter holding a green flag]

Sonic: Okay, Tom and Maddie, count us down.

Tom: [claps twice] Right! [To Maddie] Don't worry, a little sibling rivalry is healthy. Me and my brothers used to do this kind of thing all the time.

Maddie: Tom, your brothers are lunatics and neither of them were born with the power to trigger a global cataclysmic event.

Tom: That's a fair point. Did you hear that, boys? No cataclysmic events, okay? Let's keep this cataclysmic-less.

Sonic: Ten-four!

Tails: Got it!

Knuckles: Understood, Lord of the Donuts.

Maddie: Then on your marks, get set... go!

[With that, she waves the green flag, and the three speed right past them, blowing up a gust of wind in their wake. Cut to Sonic, he is in the lead, running through the forest]

Sonic: And way out in front, to the surprise of absolutely no one, it's the Blue Blur, the Red-Shoed Rocket, the one, the only--

[As he runs backwards, he looks up, and sees Tails passing him]

Tails: Come on, Sonic! Catch up! Yeah!

[Tails then laughs before he speeds ahead, leaving Sonic confused as he returns to running forward]

Sonic: What in the what, now?

[He then hears Knuckles' voice as he spots him on his left, also ahead of him]

Knuckles: I am also defeating you, hedgehog!

Sonic: Seriously? All right, you know what? Time to light the afterburners.

[Sonic then proceeds to increase in speed, sliding up the side of a tree trunk, sliding into the air, and also passing Tails]

Sonic: Look! It's a bird! it's a plane! It's Air Hedgehog!

[Sonic then poses in midair before curling into a ball and dunking himself into a basketball hoop made out of tree branches. He then rolls down the forest, and off a cliff and over the sides of a mountain. Sonic then uncurls and resumes running, running around a hollow log, and through the forest. He then sees a sign with the word "goal" on it, and proceeds to slap it, making it spin. He then slides and comes to a halt, doing a victory dance]

Sonic: Yes! I did it! I...

[He then looks shocked to see Knuckles and Tails standing across from him, tapping their feet in unison.]

Sonic: Lost?! How is that even possible? I do not lose!

Knuckles: I am also defeating you, hedgehog.

Sonic: [walks up to them] Okay, okay, I get it, man. No need to rub it in.

Tails: Come on, Sonic! Catch up! Yeah!

[Sonic notices that these are the same things that they said before, and he suspiciously leans forward and touches Tails' nose]

Sonic: Wait, what's going on?

[As Sonic touches Tails' face, his finger enters his face which squashes and stretches following it, startling Sonic and making him back up]

Sonic: [yelps] Why are you guys acting like...

[Sonic slaps Knuckles' face, but it phases through, before bopping his nose, making Knuckles cross-eyed. Knuckles suddenly glitches. Sonic looks up, and sees a pair of Tails' holographic drones hovering above them.]

Sonic: Holograms! Which means... [dances] I remain the undefeated speed champion of all time! Yes! And the crowd goes wild! But also, what's going on?

[Sonic then dashes off, sprinting at top speed. and when he returns to camp, he is shocked. across from him, everyone excitedly stands as a party was put together, a banner reading "Happy B-earth-day!" with a picture of Earth on it]

Everyone: Surprise!

Sonic: But wait a sec, you guys... what is all this? "Happy Bea Arthur Day"?

Maddie: Oh, it's "Happy B-Earth-Day."

Tom: Today's the anniversary of the day you came to Earth, bud. It's your "Earth Day Birthday."

Sonic: So the race was just a distraction, which I totally did not fall for, by the way-- Good try though-- so you could throw a party for me?

Knuckles: [walks up to him] Today, we honor you, hedgehog.

Tails [walks up to him] If it wasn't for you, none of us would be here right now.

Tom: The boys are right, bud. You know, the day you came to this planet was the day all our lives changed forever.

Maddie: And we became a family.

Ozzy: [proceeds to bark as subtitles translate him] "You stole my hoomans."

Sonic: You guys, I don't... I don't know what to say. Except... let's party!

Tom: All right!

Sonic: Yeah!

[Sonic lifts his fist in the air before high fiving Tom as Knuckles laughs.]

Knuckles: It's now on till the break of dawn!

Tails: Toga! Toga!

[They all head up to the picnic table and the camera scrolls up to a view of the forest]

[Scene change: Campsite, Evening]

[Cut to later as Tom and Sonic walking together, Tom holding a football]

Sonic: Thanks for the surprise party. It really means a lot to me.

Tom: Ah, you deserve it, pal.

[Sonic then smiles, before looking ahead. His expression changes as he gasps]

Sonic: No way, is that...

[Sonic then speeds ahead, with Tom walking after]

Tom: What? [sighs] Dude... Could you just for once walk at my speed?

[Scene change: Hedgehog Cave, evening]

[Tom climbs down into a Sonic-sized hole. He lands on his feet and looks around, it's Sonic's old cave]

Tom: Whoa. [chuckles] Sonic! This is your--

Sonic: Yep. My old cave.

Tom: Oh, man. I can't believe this is where you lived all those years.

[Sonic then looks to his old ping-pong table made out of a speed sign. He sees his old nun-chucks and picks them up]

Sonic: Hey! my state-of-the-art security system!

[He then swings the nun-chucks around, letting out a battle cry, but then hits himself in the face and falls down, like in the first movie]

Sonic: [gets up] Still works.

[Tom then walks up to a wall covered in vines. Something behind them intrigues him]

Tom: Hey, bud. What's this?

[He pulls back the vines, and it reveals a drawing of a young Sonic and Longclaw sitting together on a loop-the-loop, the latter holding a sunflower]

Sonic: Wow. You know, I drew that on my first night on Earth. I wanted to remember where I came from.

[Sonic looks at the drawing, looking sad]

Sonic: I still miss her.

[Tom looks to Sonic, who still has the sad expression]

Sonic: You think Longclaw would be proud of me?

Tom: I know she would, pal. Because even though you lost her at such a young age, you didn't let your pain change who you are... in here. [taps Sonic's chest]

Sonic: Yeah. In my lungs.

Tom: [smiles] Or your heart.

Sonic: Heart, right. Yeah, makes more sense. Not lungs, heart.

Tom: That's the thing about life, Sonic, it's all about the choices we make. You're gonna make some good ones and, knowing you, you're gonna make some bad ones. But... as long as you remember to listen to your heart, you'll make the right choice when it matters most.

Sonic: Thanks. I don't know what I'd do without you. I'd probably be a totally different hedgehog.

[Scene change: Tokyo, Night]

[Shadow walks through the streets of Tokyo. It is raining, and he is scowling. He looks to his left, and sees a taxi swerve right past him, splashing water on him. Shadow groans as he looks around in the city he's in. He then looks up to a building with a jumbotron which reads...]

Shadow: 2024? I've been trapped for 50 years?

[He then hears shouting and screaming. He turns to his right and sees a G.U.N tank truck drive up to him, soldiers with shields shouting and pointing guns at him. The crowds flee as more G.U.N tank trucks arrive, along with soldiers on motorcycles, and police cruisers from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, surrounding the black and red hedgehog.]

G.U.N Soldier: Move, move! Take position! Get on the ground now! We've got you surrounded!

Shadow: Why... won't you leave me... ALONE?!

G.U.N Soldier 2: Take him down!

[The soldiers aim their guns at him. Shadow then scowls, orange chaos energy emerging from his pupils, and electricity coming out and touching his eyelids]

[Scene change: Campsite, night]

[The group are now sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows. Knuckle's overcooks his and it burns into a crisp. He looks at it with shame]

Knuckles: I have dishonored my marshmallow.

[Tails uses a blowtorch attached to his tracking device to heat his marshmallow]

Tails: It's really just a question of temperature and distance.

Maddie: It's not a competition.

Tom: This is so nice.

Maddie: Peace.

Tom: Quiet.

Maddie: Finally.

Tom: [in agreement] Finally!

[Ozzy snorts for a moment, before lifting his head and barking up at a sudden noise. Wind blows in the forest as a searchlight shines on the quintet. Tom shades his eyes as they all look up and see a G.U.N helicopter fly right over their campsite. Everyone stands up]

Sonic: Hey! We’re trying to have a family moment down here!

[Everyone walks up to the helicopter as it lowers down near the lake. Team Sonic leads the way and Tom and Maddie follow suit. the door slides open and two G.U.N agents walk out holding guns]

Maddie: What did we do?

Tom: Or what did they do?

Tails: [to Sonic] What did you do?

Sonic: I don't know. I do a lot of stuff.

[Finally, after the agents stand on both sides of the chopper door, G.U.N Director Rockwell steps out, a man walking behind her as they walk up to the five]

Director Rockwell: Mr. and Mrs. Wachowski. [removes her sunglasses] Aliens.

Sonic: [indignant] "Aliens"? Excuse me? It’s not like we’re from different planet-- [realizes] Oh, yeah, we are. I guess we are aliens. Please continue.

Director Rockwell: I'm Director Rockwell. There is a very dangerous situation unfolding right now in Tokyo. Commander Walters is requesting Team Sonic's immediate assistance.

Knuckles: "Team Sonic"? Who picked that name?

Sonic: Love it! Ten out of ten, no notes. Tom and Maddie, put the s’mores on ice because Team Sonic is off to save the day!

[The helicopter's top blades start spinning as it prepares take-off. The helicopter rises off the ground and flies off, Team Sonic waving to the Wachowskis]

Maddie: [shouts over the noise] Remember, make good choices!

[Tom gives them a thumbs up, and Ozzy lifts a paw as the helicopter departs, and heads off to Japan, Maddie hugging Tom as they watch them depart]

[Scene change: Tokyo, night]

[A Ring portal opens up and the helicopter flies through, teleporting them to Tokyo, Japan. Tails is taking the wheel as he wears a captain's helmet]

Tails: Good evening and welcome to Tails Air flight 1012. We're looking at an on-time arrival into Tokyo.

Sonic: [walks in] Okay, Captain, we got a rogue alien on the loose. How do we find him?

[They then hear an explosion below them. They look down to see a red fireball in the city]

Tails: Uh, start with the giant fireball?

Sonic: I love it! Let's start with the giant fireball!

[They leave the cockpit and walk up to the door entrance. Knuckles is there, practicing for battle, grunting and thrusting his fists in the air]

Knuckles [cackles] Finally, [pounds fists] some action!

Tails: Okay, time to gear up.

[Tails pulls out a device which opens up to reveal golden cuffs, which glow white in the center]

Tails: Titanium handcuffs, completely indestructible!

Knuckles: I don't need your silly gizmos, fox. And do you know why? Because I am...

Sonic and Tails: [reciting with Knuckles, unamused] ...one million percent muscle.

Knuckles: Yes, good. You've been listening.

[A red alarm blares behind Knuckles, who notices]

Co-Pilot: We're over the drop zone.

Sonic: All right, here we go. Showtime!

[Sonic slides the door open and they all look down to the city below]

Sonic: Now, look, we don't know if it's Godzilla or Hello Kitty down there, but as long as we stick together, there is nothing we can't handle. "Team Sonic" on three. One, two, three.

[As Sonic speaks, he stretches a fist out, and Tails and Knuckles press their fists against his, and once Sonic says "three" they all lift their fists in the air]

Team Sonic: Team...

Sonic and Tails: Sonic!

Knuckles: Knuckles!

[Sonic groans as Director Rockwell enters, Team Sonic turns to her]

Sonic: Talk about low-budget flights. No food or movies? We're out of here!

[With that, Team Sonic leaps out of the chopper in unison, and they all turn and point their noses to the city below. They all plummet together as they reached the skyscrapers, and Tails spins his twin tails like helicopter blades and grabs Sonic's arms. Knuckles grabs Sonic's feet as Tails tosses them up, and Knuckles and Sonic curl up for a moment, before landing on the ground, Tails landing on his feet. They all look around and see the destruction, fire and rubble, G.U.N. vehicles and Tokyo police cruisers wrecked and burning, and people screaming and running]

Knuckles: What happened here?

Sonic: Looks like G.U.N got their butts kicked. Keep your eyes open. Tails, anything?

[Tails pulls out his Miles Electric and is surprised at the results.]

Tails: Whoa! These energy readings are off the charts!

[Suddenly, they hear a noise behind them. They turn, only to see a huge tank truck tossed into the air, plummeting right toward them!]

Sonic: Look out!

[Sonic and Tails flee, but Knuckles stands his ground. Sonic and Tails close their eyes, waiting for the worst. But when they open them, they look to see Knuckles effortlessly grab the truck. He looks at them, lifting it with one hand and winking]

Knuckles: One... million... percent.

[Knuckles then chucks the truck away. They look in the direction it was thrown, and they see an ominous Shadow from the smoke. They all stand their ground, as Shadow reveals himself, walking to the top of a burning car and surprising the trio]

Sonic: Whoa! Are you guys seeing this?

Tails:: He looks just like you.

Knuckles: Impossible!

Shadow: You're a colorful bunch.

Sonic: Um, excuse me. Why do you look like me?

Shadow: I don't look like you. You look like me! Why do you look like me?

Sonic: Hey, you know what? I'll ask the questions, new hedgehog! Who are you?! Why do you look like me?!

Shadow: This is a waste of time. Walk away, [Makes a fist] before you get hurt.

Sonic: Whoa, whoa, easy, buddy. [pulls out the handcuffs] We don't want to fight you.

Knuckles: Actually, Sonic, I would like to fight.

Sonic: [pushes Knuckles away making him grunt] Not now. [to Shadow] Why don't you just stop throwing cars at us for a second and come down here to talk?

Shadow: You jumped out of a G.U.N helicopter. There's nothing to talk about. [Turns around]

Knuckles: All right, then. Enough! [charges]

Soinic: Knuckles, no!

Knuckles: Let us talk with our fists!

[Knuckles then jumps forward, aiming a fist at Shadow, who turns around. Everything slows down as Shadow swiftly teleports right in front of a surprised Knuckles. Shadow grabs his hand and twists it. Knuckles shouts in pain before Shadow lifts him up and kicks him into the air. Shadow then teleports repeatedly, kicking Knuckles around, before kicking him to the ground. Knuckles bounces on the concrete and crashes into a souvenir shop]

Sonic and Tails: [in unison, concerned] Knuckles!

[The two run up to the echidna and help him to his feet]

Sonic: Knuckles! Knuckles, are you okay?

Knuckles: No, not really. [grunts in pain] Ow!

[Shadow then teleports in front of the trio in a battle ready pose]

Tails: Who is this guy?

Knuckles: He is much more impressive than the hedgehog I fought previously.

Sonic: [offended] Dude, I'm standing right here. Now, come on! He can't take us all at once.

[Suddenly, Shadow appears behind them, kicking Tails out of the air, then kicking away Knuckles, and grabs Sonic by the neck. Shadow uses his Air Shoes to soar up into the air. Shadow teleports above the city and rockets back towards the ground, smashing Sonic forcefully into the concrete below. The impact picks up dust, and it disorients Sonic]

Sonic: [tries to stand] Okay, he took us all at once. [collapses]

Shadow: Weakling. [walks away]

[Sonic weakly gets up as Shadow mounts a G.U.N motorcycle and kicks up a gun from the ground, holding it in his hand. He looks crossly at Sonic]

Shadow: Don't try to follow me.

[Sonic gets on his feet just as Shadow speeds off. Tails walks up to him, seeing his expression]

Tails: Sonic, I know that look. Going after him is a bad idea.

Sonic: When has that ever stopped me?

[With that, Sonic speeds off after Shadow. They race through the streets, and Sonic eventually catches up to Shadow]

Sonic: I got to ask, one hedgehog to another, who does your highlights?

[Shadow looks at Sonic, scowling. He takes out his gun and fires at Sonic, who dodges every blast thanks to his speed. Sonic leaps up for a moment, and then curls up into a ball, rolling at Shadow, who teleports out of the way. Sonic uncurls and runs off the truck he was about to collide into. Shadow teleports behind Sonic and blasts at him]

Sonic: Hey! Dangerously weaving through traffic is my thing!

[Sonic runs off another truck as Shadow passes him. He curls up, and rolls directly at Shadow, only for him to teleport again just as he's about to grab him. Sonic buzzes through the traffic, eventually leaping through the driver's seat of a truck in slow motion, startling the driver. Sonic speaks at normal speed.]

Sonic: Coming through!

[Time returns to normal as Sonic makes it through and keeps running. Suddenly, Shadow teleports above Sonic, aiming to crush him. Sonic dodges in time, and grabs the back of the motorcycle, trying to stop it]

Sonic: Why are you running away? We were just getting started.

[Sonic holds on as he is tossed to the door window of a passing bus, causing an indent in the glass, making everyone gasp. Shadow snarls as they enter a tunnel, dropping the gun]

Shadow: The more you talk, the harder I want to hit you.

[Shadow revs the engine and the motorcycle speeds faster as they exit through the other side of the tunnel. Sonic shouts in fright as a train passes ahead of them]

Sonic: Watch out!

[Just as they are about to collide, Shadow teleports from the road and into the air, Sonic flailing behind him]

Sonic: Ugh, I'm gonna throw up!

[Shadow revs the engine, and orange chaos energy courses through the motorcycle]

Sonic: Yeah, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!

[Sonic flails to try and catch up to Shadow, but he proceeds in driving right up the side of Tokyo Tower. Sonic stumbles a bit, but dashes right behind him]

Sonic: Yah!

[The two hedgehogs collide against each other as they both head up the tower, before crashing through the platform halfway up. Sonic falls down, whilst Shadow continues up the tower and soars in the air. Shadow leaps off the bike towards Sonic, who leaps up at him, their chaos energy building up as they make a fist to punch each other. When they collide, the force of the impact causes an explosion of chaos energy, which triggers a blackout throughout the city. Once the lights turn back on, it reveals Sonic unconscious. Sonic wakes up, putting a hand to his head]

Sonic: [groans] 1.21 gigawatts.

[Sonic tries to get up, but he's stuck. He looks to see he is now handcuffed to the bars by Shadow]

Sonic: Oh, you've got to be kidding me!

[He tries to break free, and hears Tails call out his name. Tails then arrives, letting go of Knuckles' arm, and heads up to him]

Tails: Sonic! Are you okay?

Sonic: I'm fine, guys. And before you ask, I handcuffed myself for tactical reasons that I do not have time to explain.

Tails: You shouldn't have gone off on your own. [un-cuffs Sonic] We're supposed to be a team.

Sonic: Sorry, buddy. Still working on this teamwork thing. [stands up]

Knuckles: So now what?

Sonic: Well, I'm not jumping out of any more helicopters until we get some answers from G.U.N. We need somewhere to regroup.

Tails: I know just the place.

[Scene change: Chao Garden restaurant]

[Japanese singers sing in the background as two people in Chao costumes dance on stage. The service serves numerous customers, and at one table, it is a child's birthday. A worker then takes a picture of Team Sonic as three Chao surround them.]

Chao Garden Waitress: Hai, chizu. [Say "cheese"]

Knuckles: [yelps] It's an ambush! You'll never take us alive, foul beasts!

Tails: Calm down, Knuckles. This is a Chao Garden. One of the top ten must-see spots in all of Tokyo! It's a perfect place for us to blend in.

[Two girls then walk up to Tails, one of them poking him]

Girl: Are you Detective Pikachu?

Sonic: Yes, he is!

Knuckles: [chortles] He does look like a Pokémon!

[Tails is less than amused]

Knuckles: "Pika Pika!" [laughs]

Sonic: Commander Walters!

[On cue, the commander comes to their table, pulling up a seat and sits down across from Sonic.]

Commander Walters: Sonic. Thank God you're all okay. I'm sure you have questions.

Sonic: Just a big ticked-off red and black one. Who was that guy?

Commander Walters: Shadow's story began a lot like yours, Sonic. But where you found family and friends on this planet, Shadow found only pain and loss.

[Scene Change: Oklahoma, night]

[Cue a flashback, with a truck driver looking over a large crater, a black and red meteor in the center as police cars drive up to investigate it.]

Walters: (V.O) It begins over 50 years ago, with a meteor crash in a quiet corner of Oklahoma.

[Scene Change: Prison Island]

[Changes to Prison Island, a group of scientists lowering the meteor in a large stasis tube full of green liquid.]

Commander Walters (V.O): The meteorite contained a life-form.

[Chunks of meteor dissolve and float up to the surface, revealing a hole, where it reveals Shadow opening his eyes.]

Commander Walters (V.O): The ultimate life-form.

[The scene changes to a large room, where Shadow swiftly runs around, revealing his orange Chaos Energy. The monitoring scientists in the center watch in awe.]

Commander Walters (V.O.): Shadow's power-- his "chaos energy"-- went far beyond any living creature.

[Shadow hover skates over the walls, as the scientists' computers print out the charts]

Commander Walters (V.O): The scientist who discovered him believed this power would usher in a new era for humanity.

[A scientist looks to the chart, and into a large storage tube storing the Chaos Energy Shadow generates. It grows unstable.]

Commander Walters (V.O.): But Shadow's power proved too dangerous.

[Scene Change: Shadow Base, night]

[Cut to outside an unfamiliar lab. A massive explosion occurs as an explosion cloud comes out of the main entrance, thrusting a person backward.]

Commander Walters (V.O): A terrible accident destroyed the lab, taking human lives with it. The project leader was blamed for the incident and imprisoned.

[Two G.U.N agents haul a white coated scientist away. Behind his back, he holds a red quill.]

[Scene Change: Prison Island, Night]

[A soldier with an electric prod forces Shadow into his stasis tube.]

Commander Walters (V.O): With the program cancelled... [Shadow yelps in pain as a soldier shocks him] ...Shadow was a loose end no one knew how to deal with.

[Shadow pounds on the glass as his tube lowers down, agents pointing guns at it. Stasis liquid rises up from Shadow's boots and climbs upward.]

Commander Walters (V.O): Too dangerous to be walking free, too valuable to destroy.

[A young Walters watches as the tube lowers. Shadow looks toward him before fully submerged, and scowls vengefully.]

Commander Walters (V.O): So, I had him placed into stasis... indefinitely.

[Scene Change: Chao Garden, night]

[The scene then changes back to present day.]

Sonic: Wait a second. If Shadow's been on ice for 50 years, someone had to help him escape.

Commander Walters: True. But there's only a few people in the world who even know of Shadow's existence.

[Suddenly, the lights flicker off. Everyone is surprised. Team Sonic looks upset for a moment, before the stage lights turn on, revealing three Chao performers dancing on stage. Everyone cheers and claps as singers are heard in the background. A Japanese cover of "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5 plays in the background.]

Tails: A live show?! Yeah!

[Tails claps along to the beat of the music as everyone watches. Unbeknownst to them, a battalion of Badniks lower up to the window. They open their sides to reveal missiles stored inside. Sonic turns, and then notices them]

Sonic: Get down!

[The Badniks fire their missiles. Team Sonic ducks just as the missiles hit the table, hitting it, making it explode, and making Walters fall backwards. The explosion starts a fire, halting the show abruptly and making everyone stampede toward the exit. Sonic gets up, recovering from the impact, only for him Tails and Knuckles to be eyed by the Badniks, who beam red lasers at them.]

Sonic: Egg drones?

Tails: But Robotnik is supposed to be dead!

[They then hear motorcycle engines, and then a masked motorcyclist crashes through the window, and drives right up to in front of the stage. One of the drones fires a missile, only for the cyclist to dodge, making it hit and destroy the refreshment stand, debris flying out.]

Sonic: Konnichi-what?

[The cyclist then powers up some energy wrist plates and revs their bike engine. They then move forward, before lifting the bike upward. They then use their right arm to blast circular devices on the Badniks in the building. The cyclist then drives past but stops for a moment. With their left arm, they press a button, which has the devices disable all of the Badniks, before they all collapse to the ground deactivated.]

Sonic: I'm sorry, we already had our big motorcycle chase for the evening.

[Without uttering a single word, the cyclist drives off a makeshift ramp, and crashes through the window, driving off into the city. Team Sonic then head up to Walters, who is under a table.]

Sonic: Commander Walters!

[Knuckles lifts the table off of Walters, who lies fatally wounded on the floor.]

Sonic: Commander Walters, are you okay?

Commander Walters: Sonic... take this.

[Walters reaches into his vest and pulls out a small package and reaches it to Sonic, who takes it from him, a small I.D Card inside.]

Sonic: What is it?

Commander Walters: A key... to the most powerful weapon G.U.N has ever built. You're the only one I trust to keep it safe.

[With a final sigh, Commander Walters makes his last exhale as he dies.]

Sonic: Commander Walters...

[They all hear sirens blaring outside. G.U.N tankers park outside, numerous agents coming out with loaded guns. Tokyo police cruisers are right behind them, blazing their red lights as the Japanese officers secure the area. They all enter, pointing their guns in random areas.]

G.U.N Soldiers: Alpha team, fan out! Do we have eyes? Secure the perimeter!

[Rockwell then enters the scene. She walks up to Walters' body and feels his vest. She then pulls up his vest and finds nothing.]

G.U.N Soldier: Medevac is en route.

Director Rockwell: His launch key is missing.

[Rockwell then looks to her left, and finds something. She picks it up as she stands up. It's a picture of Team Sonic.]

Director Rockwell: I knew they couldn't be trusted. [She crumbles up the picture. Cut to Team Sonic running out while wearing Chao mascot heads.]

Tails: [as they remove their costume heads] Why are we running from G.U.N.? Aren't we on the same team?

Sonic: Until we get more information, we're not trusting anyone.

Knuckles: [Has trouble removing his costume head] Get it... off!

Sonic: Follow me.

[Team Sonic chases down the mysterious biker, until the trio catch them at the docks.]

Sonic: Hold it right there, Tokyo Drift! Who are you?

[The biker removes their helmet to reveal... Agent Stone!]

Knuckles: [gasps] It's the Goat Milker!

Stone: [mimicking Knuckles] "It's the Goat Milker!" Relax. I'm not here to fight.

Sonic: Then why are you here?

Tails: And why did you free Shadow?

Stone: Are you kidding? The last thing we want is more super-powered hedgehogs running around. The doctor had nothing to do with it. And I can prove it.

[He pushes a remote start. By doing so, a giant crab-like Badnik resurfaces in front of them. Team Sonic backs up.]

Stone: Please, join me in the crab.

[Scene Change: La Última Pasión]

[Cut to a telenovela, La Última Pasión, playing on TV.]

Telenovela Announcer: And now back to... La Última Pasión.

Gabriella: I have fallen in love with another.

Juan: [gasps] But who, Gabriella? Tell me who!

[Suddenly, a mustached man pops out of a closet, holding a rose in his mouth.]

Juan: [shocked] My twin brother, Pablo?!

[Pablo removes his false mustache.]

[Scene Change: Mecha Crab]

[The scene cuts to inside the crab, with trash all over the floor and someone watching the show.]

Gabriella: [on screen] Pablo!

[She rushes over to Pablo's side.]

Juan: [on screen] ¡Bastardo! (Translation: You bastard!)

Pablo: [smugly, on screen] Buenos días, ¡hermano! (Translation: Good morning, brother!)

Juan: [on screen] NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

[The scene pauses, and we see an obese Robotnik watching the show while empty food wrappers and packaging are seen lying all over the floor. He uses a drone to microwave a burrito before covering it in three condiments.]

Dr. Ivo Robotnik: [chuckles] Let that be a lesson to you, Juan. Family is a field of emotional claymores that leave you abandoned, betrayed, and weeping while you eat cake, which creates copious amounts of adipose tissue, and what some calloused individuals refer to as... man boobs.

[He takes one bite of the burrito before throwing it away. He switches the channel to play up-tempo Latin jazz. He lifts his shirt up and pats his belly like a drum before turning around. Stone and Team Sonic are here, with the team watching in disgust. Robotnik notices them and screams in terror while covering his stomach]

Stone: Doctor, we have visitors.

Ivo Robotnik: Really? I thought I was having an anthropomorphic nightmare, where the only person I can trust in the world showed up with all my worst enemies, while I was in a bathrobe, playing congas on my big, fat belly!

Stone: Sorry, sir.

Sonic: I don't believe it. Eggman's alive?

Tails: And he’s never looked...worse.

Dr. Robotnik: [cackles] Well, maybe, this is what not giving a damn what you think I look like looks like.

Stone: Sir, right now we have an even bigger problem.

Robotnik: Oh, come on.

Stone: There's an imposter out there using your technology.

[He inserts a disc into the drive.]

Robotnik: Imposter? That's impossi-- [sees something] WHAT?! [On the screen, it shows the egg drones pointing lasers at Team Sonic] No. My sweet, mechanized spawn! Whomever this party-pooping posse is looking for has stolen my persona and the precious babies from my egg sac. Well... I'll soon egg-xact my revenge. [to Stone] You see what I did there? [Stone chuckles at the joke] It's time for the dramatic soap-opera twist where this Pablo reveals his Juan! By cross-referencing the precise coordinates of each drone's energy spikes, I can track my babies to the imposter's base of operations, right about... there!

[Robotnik points to a location on the map, and Tails turns to Sonic]

Tails: Sonic, I hate to say it, but I think we're both after the same person.

Sonic: Hold on, hold on. You're not suggesting we team up with Doctor Ro-Butt-Stink, are you?

[The camera cuts to Robotnik who is seen playing with the map childlike. The camera cuts back to Team Sonic]

Knuckles: Perhaps the fox is right. It could be our only chance to find this mysterious, more impressive hedgehog.

Sonic: [groans; to Robotnik] All right, Egghead. I hate to say it, but it looks like we're partners.

Robotnik: On one condition.

Sonic: Dude, you have serious issues. Ow!

[Sonic yanks out one of his quills, handing it to Robotnik, who takes a lick from it, zapping him with chaos energy.]

Robotnik: Let's... [pulls Stone close] DO THIS!

[Later, Stone gives Robotnik a haircut, returning to his bald state before going into his changing room, struggling to put on his suit.]

Robotnik: [grunting inside the changing room] Suck it in! [exits the room, turning to Stone] Tinker-tailor? I need room. Think Elvis, circa 1976.

Stone: But sir, I don't have the proper materials.

[Robotnik rips Stone's shirt off as material]

Robotnik: Found some.

Stone: Resourceful.

[Scene change: Abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[The camera zooms in on the abandoned G.U.N. base that Commander Walters talked about earlier. Inside, Shadow walks through the base, which is strewn with debris and dirt. He notices a roller skate that is covered with dirt. Shadow picks it up and looks at it, recognizing the skate]

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[The camera focuses on a pair of teal roller skates, and then pans upward to reveal a girl carrying a cardboard box bearing the words "Maria's Stuff" on it. She skates through the base, seemingly looking for something. She reaches a hallway and turns to go down it, but she is stopped by a G.U.N. agent]

G.U.N. Agent: Hey! This is a restricted area.

Captain Walters: Oh, it's okay. She's the professor's granddaughter. He takes her everywhere. Welcome to the lab, Maria. I'm Captain Walters.

Maria Robotnik: Oh, do you know where my room is?

Captain Walters: Yeah, down the hall and to the right. Make yourself at home. But, um, let's lose the skates, okay, kiddo?

Maria: [nods] Okay.

[She skates down the hall to find her room]

[Scene change: Lab area, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Maria walks past a room, and it catches her attention. She walks slowly into the room, and sees Shadow contained within a large fluid-filled tube with his back turned to her. Maria approaches the tube and gazes at Shadow for a moment. She puts her hand up, about to place it on the tube. Shadow suddenly turns his head around and glares warily at her, causing Maria to step back and smile nervously. Shadow turns the rest of the way around, and he continues glaring at her while looking her up and down. After a moment, Maria glares playfully back at him and smiles, amused. Suddenly, she seems to get an idea. She opens her bag and withdraws a marker, and she begins to draw something on the tube while Shadow looks on curiously. She finishes, and it is revealed that she drew a cartoony rabbit face to line up with Shadow's facial features, turning his glare into a funny expression. Maria places the cap back on the marker and smiles with delight. She giggles, and Shadow looks at the drawing, trying to figure out why she is amused. Seeing that Shadow is no longer aggressive, she places her hand on the glass tube. Shadow looks at her, and she presses her hand more firmly on it, looking at him encouragingly. Shadow brings his hand up to meet hers, and he smiles at her. Maria smiles back]

[Scene change: Maria's room, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[A montage begins as "End of the Line" by the Traveling Wilburys plays. In her room, Maria plays a music record and begins dancing around the room as a puzzled Shadow looks on]

[Scene change: Lab, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Shadow sits on a table in the laboratory, hooked up to a machine as scientists run tests. Shadow closes his eyes wearily, and the door to the lab opens. Shadow turns his head in the direction of the noise, and Maria comes in and crouches by the table, raising her eyebrows mischievously at Shadow. The scientists turn from their work to see that Shadow has been swapped out by a teddy bear]

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[In a hallway, Shadow crouches into a "race start" position with a rope tied around his waist. Maria is tied to the other end of the rope on her skates. She sports a baseball cap and black goggles. She gives Shadow a thumbs-up, and he skates off, taking Maria with him. She whoops in excitement as they take off and continues screaming in delight as they round a corner]

[Scene change: Maria's room, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[In her room, Maria takes Shadow's hands and begins dancing in a circle, swinging her arms and leading Shadow with her. Shadow gazes at her, still a little puzzled, but willing to go along with it]

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Maria and Shadow continue skating around the base at top speed yelling, causing a startled scientist drops the papers he is holding]

[Scene change: Maria's room, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[In her room, Maria teaches Shadow "the wave," pushing his arm down and causing his free one to go up. Shadow repeats this for her, and Maria smiles happily]

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Still skating, Maria punches her arm up and whoops happily. They round another corner, and Maria sees some people carrying trays of food at the end of the hallway]

Maria: [Pointing forward] Look out!

[Shadow cannot stop in time and Maria puts her hands up in front of her face as they crash into the people, sending food flying everywhere. They end up on the floor, covered in food. Maria looks around and smiles happily, making "snow angels" in the food. Shadow follows suit, and they both smile]

[Scene change: Nighttime, Maria's room, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Maria and Shadow are watching a movie and eating popcorn from a bowl. Maria picks up a piece of popcorn and tosses it at Shadow. He looks at her, and she playfully does a "who, me?" gesture and shakes her head. They continue watching the movie, and it shows the Biolizard puppet swatting at helicopters that are flying at it before roaring. Large text reading "Beware the Alien Freak!" pops up on the screen, and Shadow gazes sadly at the floor, reminded of what he is. Maria sees his distress and looks away, thinking]

[Scene change: Lab area, G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[A man is shown sleeping at his place in the lab, and Maria takes his keycard and swipes it on a keycard reader. She and Shadow board a platform that takes them upwards, to the cliff above the entrance to the base]

[Scene change: Cliff, nighttime, 50 years ago]

[Shadow and Maria lie on their backs, surrounded by white flowers. They gaze up at the night sky]

Maria: Wow. Look at all those stars.

[The camera cuts to a view of the countless stars in the night sky]

Maria: They're like diamonds.

[The scene cuts back to Shadow and Maria]

Maria: My grandfather says it can take hundreds of years for the light of a star to reach Earth, and by the time you see it, the star might not even exist anymore. [Looks at Shadow] Isn't that crazy?

Shadow: A light shines even though the star is gone.

Maria: Yeah, it does. [Looks at Shadow] I wonder which one you came from, Shadow.

Shadow: I don't know. I don't know anything about my home.

Maria: This is your home, Shadow. Earth. [Smiles]

[Shadow looks at her doubtfully, and he sits up with a troubled look on his face]

Shadow: Maria, do you think I'm... dangerous?

[Maria sits up and looks at him]

Maria: What are you talking about?

Shadow: The way the scientists look at me, I can tell they're afraid. Like I'm the horrible thing from that movie we watched. [Gazes sadly at Maria] I don't know... what I am.

[Shadow falls silent, and Maria thinks for a moment]

Maria: You're my friend. And you can do or be anything you want. Not because of your powers, but because of who you are... in here. [Taps Shadow's chest]

Shadow: I don't know what I'd do without you. [Smiles gratefully]

[Maria smiles at him and takes Shadow's hand. They both look back up at the sky. After a moment, Maria looks back at Shadow, and Shadow looks at her. They both smile. They continue stargazing with their worries put aside.]

[Scene change: Maria's room, abandoned G.U.N. military base, present day]

[The flashback ends, and the record player in Maria's room grinds to a halt as Shadow takes the needle off of the record. He looks around at the room, now dirty and unkept.]

[Scene change: Lab area, abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[Shadow enters the room where he first met Maria. He walks up to the glass tube, which is now broken and missing its top half. Shadow looks at his reflection in the glass and places his hand on the tube. He closes his eyes, grief threatening to overwhelm him. Suddenly, he hears a noise and turns around, a chaos energy-infused punch at the ready. However, he stops and seems to recognize the figure who just entered behind him]

Shadow: Professor?

Gerald: It's good to see you, Shadow. I knew you'd come home.

Shadow: I can't get her out of my head. The pain... it's too much.

Gerald: And that is why we have to punish them.

[Scene change: Outside the abandoned base]

[A ring portal opens up. Sonic and Ivo steps out before the others could.]

Sonic: Okay, I don't like you and you don't like me. Let's get this over with quickly.

Ivo: [Shoves Sonic aside] Out of my way, dorkupine.

[Knuckles steps through the portal, followed by Stone and Tails]

Sonic: "Dorkupine"? [sarcastically] Really clever.

[The ring portal proceeds to close, and Robotnik gets close to the metal door and begins tapping it]

Ivo: This door is six-inch-thick solid steel on a pressurized latch. I'll need a moment to calculate the molecular density and invert the venting mechanics.

[Before Robotnik can do anything, Knuckles suddenly punches the door open]

Knuckles: I unlocked it.

Ivo: Subtle as always, fist-for-brains.

[Scene change: Lab area, abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[Shadow hears the heroes coming, charges up his chaos energy when...]

Gerald: Easy, Shadow. Those are the guests I've been expecting. Let's give them a warm welcome.

[Team Sonic, Ivo, and Stone walk into the base]

Stone: Whoa, what is this place?

Sonic: It looks like a military base, but nobody's been here for years. I wonder if it's haunted.

Knuckles: [frightened] Haunted?! Nobody said anything about being haunted.

Stone: What's the matter? You afraid of g-g-g-ghosts?

Knuckles: Nothing scares an echidna warrior.

Sonic: Uh, yeah. Do you remember what happened last movie night?

[Scene change: Wachowski house, night.]

[Flashback to Team Sonic watching the 1995 film Casper. They're at the scene where Casper meets Kat, played by Christina Ricci, and both are screaming at each other. Knuckles screams in terror as he grabs Sonic and Tails' hands tightly, causing both the hedgehog and fox to spill their bowls of popcorn and scream in pain while trying to break free from Knuckles' grip.]

Sonic: AAAAH! LET GO, LET GO, LET GO, LET GO!!

Tails: AAAAH! OW, OW, OW, OW, OW!

[Scene change: Lab area, abandoned G.U.N. military base]

Knuckles: There's no such thing as a friendly ghost.

[The group stops in the center of the lab area of the base]

Sonic: So, which way do we go?

Robotnik: I know! We should split up. Everyone with hideous, brightly colored fur take the left and the middle. Stone and I will go right.

Sonic: No, no, no, no, no. I'm not letting you out of my sight. Tails, you and Stone go left. Knuckles, you take the middle. Eggman, you and me go right.

Robotnik: By all means. We could use some time together... to work on your trust issues.

Sonic: [sarcastically] You know what? You're right. I should be more trusting. I mean, you've only tried to kill me twice!

[Scene change: The middle path of the lab.]

[Knuckles explores the middle path alone with only a flashlight.]

Knuckles: Just a dark, creepy hallway... Nothing to be afraid of. You hear that, ghost?! You don't frighten me!

[Just then steam emits from a pipe behind Knuckles, who flinches as he turns around to find the source. Upon realizing what's just scared him, Knuckles tries to calm himself down.]

Knuckles: Get. A. Grip!

[He turns around... only to face Shadow.]

Shadow: Boo.

[Knuckles screams in panic.]

[Scene change: The left path of the lab.]

[Tails and Stone explore the left path.]

Stone: Look, I'm just gonna come right out and say it: you're adorable.

Tails: Um, thanks.

Stone: So, what's it like being Sonic's assistant? Have a daily routine? Paid time off? Benefits?

Tails: Oh, I'm not Sonic's assistant. We're teammates. He's the leader, Knuckles is the muscle, [he spins his flashlight] and I'm the gadget guy. We all have a role to play. That's what makes the team so special. That, and the fact we're best friends.

Stone: You are?

Tails: Well, yeah, just like you and Eggman, right?

[Stone feels uncertain for a minute.]

Stone: Oh, ye- of course. Yes. Me and the Doctor. Best of friends. [sadly] That's definitely what we are.

[They hear something moving. They shine their flashlights to find a rat scurrying around. However, Shadow slowly hovers down ominously behind them. The two turn around, spotting him, and scream in terror.]

[Scene change: The right path of the lab.]

[Sonic and Robotnik enter Maria's old room.]

Sonic: Whoa. Look at all this stuff. This was more than just a military base or a lab. [looks at Maria's staff] It was a home. People lived here. [he finds a picture of Shadow and Maria] He had a family.

Robotnik: Is that what I smell? The stench of domestic harmony?

Sonic: You ever wonder what your life would have been like if you had a family?

Robotnik: Hmm... No.

Sonic: Maybe you wouldn't have gone full supervillain.

Robotnik: I have no parents. No aunts, no uncles. And something about my attitude renders me... [he looks himself in a mirror] undesirable to all possible genders. [Sonic notices footprints leading out of the room, sending a judgmental glare at Robotnik before leaving] My future is a cul-de-sac. The Robotnik name ends... [takes out Sonic's quill] avec moi. Yes, I know French.

[He licks from it, zapping him.]

[Scene change: Lab area, abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[Sonic enters the lab and looks at Shadow's broken glass tank.]

Sonic: Whoa. This is where you grew up, Shadow? No wonder you're so mad. This place could really use a bean bag chair and some comic books. What happened here?

[Suddenly, Shadow appears behind him and shoves him against the broken glass tank.]

Shadow: I'm tired of giving you warnings!

[He throws Sonic aside and powers up his fist, zooming in to punch him as he yelps in panic.]

[Scene change: The right path of the lab.]

[Ivo looks around for Sonic.]

Ivo: Where did you go, hedgehog? I wasn't finished trauma-dumping.

[He spots his egg drones lying in a neat pile.]

Ivo: My darlings! [laughs joyfully] My eggie-weggies!

[Suddenly, a door opens nearby, and someone singing as he enters the place.]

Gerald: [singing Barbra Streisand's "The Way We Were"] Memories, like the corners of my mind. Misty watercolor memories of the way we weren't!

[Ivo looks at him surprised.]

Ivo: [shocked] I... don't believe it.

Gerald: Don't you?

Ivo: It's impossible.

Gerald: Is it?

Ivo: It couldn't be.

Gerald: Couldn't it?

Ivo: I'm...

Gerald: Are you?

Ivo: Imposter! You stole my babies! They know who their real daddy is, drone-napper!

[He activates his drones and aims them on Gerald.]

Gerald: [chuckles] Magnificent creations, my boy. I borrowed them to lure you here and reunite our family. You see, Ivo... [He takes off his glasses] I'm your grandfather, Gerald Robotnik.

Ivo: [surprised] My... grandfather? But how? And why? And who did what with whom?

Gerald: You hail from an ancestry of excellence. Tied directly à moi. Yes, I know French.

[Ivo comes closer to Gerald and looks at suspiciously.]

Ivo: You do look like me, but fatter, and older, and there's that funny smell. But the resemblance... is uncanny. [They both mirror each other's moves.] It's as if...

Ivo: European capitals arranged alphabetically by the fourth letter.

Gerald: Riga, Monaco, Sarajevo, Tirana.

Gerald: [mimics calculation] 17,893.33333...

Ivo: Rounding up.

Gerald: 17,894 mph.

Ivo: And for all the marbles.

Gerald: Good. I lost mine.

Ivo: A rare lung disease and the longest word in the English dictionary.

Gerald: Hmm...

Robotniks: [in unison] Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis!

Ivo: Pop-pop?

Gerald: In the saggy flesh, but looking pretty good for 110.

[He takes out Shadow's quill and licks it, electrocuting himself.]

Ivo: [tearful] Oh, grampy-poo! [hugs Gerald] Where have you been... my entire life? [in realization] Wait, where have you been... MY ENTIRE LIFE?!

Gerald: Locked in a top-secret prison for the last 50 years. Made it kind of hard to send Christmas cards. Now, you're probably wondering why I brought you here.

Ivo: You didn't bring me here. I used my unparalleled intellect to track you down.

Gerald: Per the plan I've concocted with my unparalleled intellect. You'll see. I have the answer to everything. Come on, kiddo.

[They both leave the room, as the egg drones' eyes turn into hearts.]

[Scene change: the center of the lab.]

[Sonic, Tails and Knuckles were tied up in a pole next between Shadow and a tied up Stone. Sonic slowly wakes up while moaning. His POV clears up to see the two Robotniks walking towards them.]

Sonic: Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. Someone tell me this is some kind of concussion-induced nightmare. There's TWO Eggmen now!?

Ivo: Double your villains, double your fun!

Gerald: Two Robotniks are way worse than one.

Ivo: Chest bump? [Gerald doesn't respond] No. [noticing Stone tied up] Stone, why are you tied up? Do that on your own time. You sicken me.

Shadow: You must be the long-lost grandson.

Ivo: [to Shadow] And you must be another stinkin' hedgehog!

Sonic: [to Gerald as Tails and Knuckles wakes up] So, you're the one behind all this. The Shadow breakout.

Tails: The attack on Walters!

Knuckles: That musty old man smell?

Gerald: How dare you insult me with your unsolicited exposition! [to Shadow] Shadow, get the key.

Shadow: Where is it?

Sonic: Ha! Good one, Hot Topic. Do you really think we're that stupid to bring the key right to you?

[To answer that, Shadow digs through Tails' backpack to pull out Walters' keycard.]

Sonic: Yep. We're that stupid.

[Knuckles shakes his head in dismay.]

Shadow: G.U.N. took everything from us, and now we're going to take everything from them.

Gerald: With this... [holds out a hologram of an ultimate weapon] My masterpiece of malevolence: The Eclipse Cannon.

[Scene change: Flashback, Gerald's cell on Prison Island.]

[Gerald shakes hands with a guard outside his cell before the scene cuts to him drawing equations on the wall.]

Gerald: (V.O.) In exchange for my freedom, I gave G.U.N. the most powerful weapon mankind has ever seen.

[Scene change: Space.]

[The drawing of the weapon Gerald made dissolves to the real weapon in space.]

Gerald: (V.O.) Capable of delivering a precision strike anywhere on Earth.

[The weapon charges up and fires an intense orange beam of Chaos Energy that destroys G.U.N. HQ in London on Earth.]

Gerald: (V.O.) Our first target: G.U.N. Headquarters!

[Scene change: the center of the lab.]

Sonic: But firing a weapon that powerful [Shadow gives Gerald the key during this] could threaten millions of innocent lives!

Gerald: Yeah, tera-bite me! [Ivo chuckles a little] This is one of two keys, required to launch the Eclipse Cannon. The other is locked inside G.U.N. Headquarters. Once we have both, I will take rightful control of my weapon.

Ivo: I'm in.

[Ivo's crab ship flies inside the opening above the area. Stone, now united, and the Robotniks begin to board in.]

Gerald: Holy crab!

Stone: Spacious and crustaceous.

Ivo: [to Team Sonic] Thank you so much for inspiring this little adventure. It really worked out for me.

Sonic: And you wonder why I have trust issues!

[Before they could take off, Shadow appears above the area.]

Sonic: Shadow, wait! Don't do this. I know you're hurting but don't let that change who you are inside.

Shadow: I've spent 50 years reliving what they did to her. [holds a small device before charging it with his Chaos Energy] This... is who I am inside.

[Shadow drops it close to the ground, floating before teleporting into the crab ship taking off.]

Sonic: Uh... nice magic marble. Real scary.

[The device then activates a big mini black hole that sucks up everything in the lab.]

Sonic: [then; scared] Ahh! That actually is real scary!

Tails: It's a mini-black hole! It's going to suck all the matter in this base!

[Scene change: Abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[Ivo's crab ship flies off away from the base.]

[Scene change: the center of the lab.]

[They start to get sucked toward the hole, but Knuckles spots some rope nearby.]

Knuckles: Fear not, friends! Even my teeth are muscles!

[He grabs onto the rope with his teeth, preventing the team from falling into the black hole.]

Tails: Sonic, try to reach one of my rings!

[Sonic reaches out and gets one of his rings.]

Sonic: Got one! Check this out. Trick shot!

[He flicks the ring up and it ricochets off some debris.]

Sonic: Come on! Come on! Come on!

Sonic and Tails: Come on!

[Knuckles loses his grip, and they fall towards the black hole screaming. Luckily, the ring forms a portal over the black hole, and they fall in.]

[Scene change: Abandoned G.U.N. military base]

[Team Sonic flings out of the ring portal and landing far outside the base. Team Sonic then cheers before seeing it getting destroyed in the process, leaving behind a giant crater.]

Sonic: Yikes. Somebody better call Google Maps.

[Scene Change: Mecha Crab]

[The Robotniks watched the base destroyed on screen.]

Ivo: I've spent years trying to cleanse the cosmos of that spiny blue speed freak, and you did it...in one afternoon.

Gerald: There's nothing we can't destroy together, my boy.

[Stone and Shadow are close to the computer panel.]

Stone: Charting route to G.U.N. Headquarters in one minute, sirs. ETA: 4 hours. As the crab flies.

Gerald: By all accounts we're ahead of schedule. We should take this time... to get to know each other better.

Ivo: You mean... spend some qu-qu-quality time?

Gerald: You've waited for this your whole life. How would you choose to spend one perfect day with your new grand-pal?

[Ivo looks away for a moment. Gerald moves in frame close to Ivo on the left side of the frame. Stone moves in smiling behind Robotnik on the right side but gets elbowed by Robotnik in the stomach without looking.]

[Scene Change: Robotnik Bonding Montage]

["Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys plays out. A montage showcases Ivo and Gerald getting along; the Robotniks ride on a roller coaster in Eggmanland, Gerald teaches Ivo how to ride a bike but he falls off, Gerald uses a flamethrower to light the candles on Ivo's birthday, the Robotniks go trick-or-treating on Halloween, and Ivo gets excited over Gerald as Santa Claus during Christmas, who shushes him before he screams, leading to him jumping at his grandfather and wrecking the tree. Final shot ends on the Robotniks watching the fireworks in the sky at the park. Stone comes behind with two lattes, music tones down as he notices the Robotniks getting along without him. Saddened and hurt, Stone turns away and dumps the lattes in the trash.]

[Scene Change: Mecha Crab]

[Stone takes off a PSVR headset to reveal the events are actually a virtual reality. Camera cranes back to show the Robotniks still wearing the same PSVR headsets as they're in their own VR bonding time. Stone walks off, heartbroken.]

[Scene change: Wachowski house, day]

[Tom and Maddie have been killing their time through various hobbies, including baking, knitting, and painting. Cut to Tom finishing a model of the Taj Mahal.]

Tom: And done. Masterpiece. Look at that.

Maddie: Yay. It's really been great having time to ourselves.

Tom: Right. Absolutely. I just feel so relaxed, you know. Clear-headed.

Maddie: Mm-hmm. Look at all these new interests we found.

Tom: I know. So many hobbies.

Maddie: So many.

Tom: After the action and adventure these last few years, I could get used to this.

Maddie: Same.

[Just then, the place shakes and the Taj Mahal model collapses. A ring portal opens in front of them and Team Sonic emerges from the portal.]

Sonic: Tom, Maddie, we need your help on a super... [notices he's facing the wrong way] Knuckles, do you mind?

Knuckles: Oh, excuse me.

[Knuckles turns to have Sonic face Tom and Maddie.]

Sonic: Tom, Maddie, we need your help on a super dangerous top-secret mission!

[Tom and Maddie briefly contemplate before immediately standing up.]

Tom: Thank God.

Maddie: Let's go.

Tom: Yeah. We're in.

Tails: Really? You're in? Just like that?

Tom: Yeah.

Maddie: Yes. It was getting so boring without you guys here. [to Tom] No offense.

Tom: No, none taken. I mean, whatever crazy plan you're cooking up, the answer's "yes".

Sonic: Great. But first thing's first: [referring to a creepy puppet that looks like Tom] What is that?

Tom: Oh, this is [using puppet] L'il Tom. [normal voice] Isn't he great?

[Team Sonic looks at the puppet with their disgusted faces]

Maddie: I told you to get rid of that. It's very creepy.

Tom: [using puppet] I told him to get rid of you. [normal voice] Okay, that's crossing the line.

Maddie: You are in so much trouble.

[Scene change: Wachowski house, day]

[The team clears the table, and Tails show them a holographic plan of infiltrating G.U.N. Headquarters]

Tails: Okay. This is it. The belly of the beast: G.U.N. Headquarters in London.

Maddie: Aw, Tom. We're finally gonna get to see London together.

Tom: Hey, I told you we'd get there someday, baby.

Sonic: Okay, so here's the plan.

[Scene change: Plan montage]

[Cut to Sonic's rundown of the plan. He runs across the River Thames.]

Sonic: (V.O.) I run in super-fast, fly over that water, no problem, and right when I get to the...

[When he reaches the energy shield, he gets disintegrated, leaving only his shoes and ashes.]

Sonic: AHH! What just happened?

Tails: Congratulations, you just got incinerated by their energy shield.

[He removes the roof of the building to show the server room.]

Tails: (V.O.) We'll need to shut it down by planting a USB drive in the server room that will give me full control over it. That's what we need you two for.

[Scene change: Wachowski house, day]

[The montage briefly stops.]

Tom: Couple of badass spies, that's what we are.

Maddie: Mr. & Mrs. Smith. [they fist-bump]

[Scene change: Plan montage]

Tails: (V.O.) Once we disable the shields, we'll face the laser hall.

[Sonic tries to dodge the lasers while running, only to get incinerated, leaving behind, once again, only his shoes and ashes.]

Tails: (V.O.) These high-density bad boys will cut you into tiny pieces.

[The shoes then get destroyed by the lasers.]

Tails: (V.O.) And cut those pieces into even tinier pieces.

[Scene change: Wachowski house, day]

[The montage briefly stops.]

Sonic: Once again... AHH! Can't we just get wikipedia:Tom Cruise to do this?

[Scene change: Plan montage]

[Zoom past the lasers to show a big vault.]

Tails: (V.O.) Nope, because not even he can break into... the vault.

[The vault opens to show that it's empty inside.]

Sonic: (V.O.) Why is it empty in there?

Tails: (V.O.) Because we have no idea what's on the other side of that door.

[The camera zooms out of the vault and out of G.U.N. Headquarters.]

Tails: (V.O.) To prevent the hall from ever being accessed by a ring, all images and schematics are wiped from G.U.N.'s database. So, for the last leg of this heist...

[Scene change: Wachowski house, day]

[The montage ends.]

Tom: [holding Little Tom wearing sunglasses; puppet voice] We're going in blind.

[Maddie glares at Tom, and he puts the puppet away.]

Tom: Sorry.

Maddie: Okay, I'm just gonna say it. It sounds like this plan would work a heck of a lot better if Sonic used the Master Emerald to go golden god mode to get the key.

[Maddie taps a hologram of Sonic and pours it in a Master Emerald hologram, transforming him to Super Sonic.]

Sonic: No way, Maddie. The Master Emerald is too powerful to ever use again. We made a promise to each other to keep it hidden.

Tails: In a location only Knuckles knows.

Knuckles: As guardian of the Master Emerald, anyone who tries to take it away for any reason... will be a sworn enemy.

Maddie: Okay, okay. Sheesh. No need to get all growly on me, buddy.

Sonic: You guys are always telling us to make good choices. Well, this is the right choice.

Tom: Okay. I guess we're going to...

[Scene change: London]

[Cut to Ivo emerging from the Mecha Crab next to Stone, Shadow and Gerald, as "London Town" by Mr. Eazi plays on the background.]

Ivo: London, baby!

[Across them is G.U.N. Headquarters, over the river from them.]

Shadow: [to Gerald] G.U.N. Headquarters is right there. Let me go in, get the key, and destroy everyone in my way. I want revenge!

Gerald: Patience, Shadow. Just let us handle this. And I promise you'll have revenge... on a scale you couldn't possibly imagine.

Ivo: Come on, grandaddy-o. We've got... dirt to do! [to Stone] Suits.

Stone: Right here, sir.

[Stone opens up a briefcase to show him two red spandex suits for him and Gerald.]

Ivo: Stone, babysit the hedgehog, keep the crab on a low boil. [takes the briefcase] It's time for more family bonding.

[The Robotniks head for G.U.N. Headquarters. Stone heads to the manhole opening.]

Stone: Come on, Shadow. Got fresh avocados in the crab. We'll make guac. [Stone dives in the crab]

Shadow: Revenge guac!

[Scene change: London]

[Cut to Sonic waiting impatiently on the London Eye.]

Sonic: [on com] Guys, are you ready for me yet? I've been waiting all day!

[Cut to Tails flying to and sitting at his laptop on top of the Walkie Talkie building on 20 Fenchurch Street.]

Tails: [on com] Sonic, we literally just started. [to Tom and Maddie] Tom, Maddie, are you in position and ready?

[Cut to Tom and Maddie at the London Bridge, wearing G.U.N. agent disguises.]

Tom: [on com] We're born ready.

Maddie: [on com] Let's do this.

Tails: [on com] (V.O.) Knuckles, how about you?

[Cut to Knuckles on the Big Ben.]

Knuckles: [on com] I have taken my perch atop the giant clock. Now where is this glass I'm supposed to break?

Sonic: [on com] Actually, Knucks, your job is to "Break Glass in Case of Emergency".

Knuckles: [on com] Understood. I will shatter this glass like the jaw of a vile foe.

Sonic: [on com] In case of emergency?

Knuckles: [on com] (V.O.) I'll pulverize it like the scum of a loathsome rival!

Sonic: [on com] Just to be clear, the "emergency" is the important part.

Knuckles: [on com] The glass will beg for mercy under the shadow of my mighty fists!

Tom: [on com] Guys, remember, we're a team. Now, let's focus.

Maddie: [on com] Please.

Sonic: [on com] (V.O.) You know what? Let's move on.

Tails: [on com] Alright. Everyone knows what to do. Tom and Maddie, you guys plant the USB drive. I'll disable the traps, Sonic will snag the launch key and Knuckles, you stand by to...

Knuckles: [on com] Break glass in case of emergency.

[The screen splits in two for Sonic and Knuckles' parts.]

Sonic: [on com] See? He gets it.

Maddie: [to Tom] And we're all set.

Tom: Hologram time.

[Tom takes out two holographic devices and they put them on their necks.]

Tom: You go first.

[Maddie activates her disguise, and she turns into Rachel.]

Maddie: Tom. It's me, Rachel. Can you believe it? We're both in London together!

Tom: Have you met your sister? Try again. Unless... you're not up for this mission. Yeah, maybe you'd rather be back in Green Hills, baking sourdough and...

[Maddie grabs Tom by his neck collar.]

Maddie: [angrily] Thomas Michael Wachowski, you brought aliens to my wedding, punched out my husband, and buried me in an avalanche! YOUR DAY OF RECKONING IS AT HAND!!!

Tom: Yeah, that's perfect. Okay, now for her better half.

[Tom activates his disguise, and he turns into Randall.]

Tom: Hoho. My name is Randall, and I am too much to handle. [flexes his muscles] Welcome to the gun show. Baby, would you describe me as jacked, juiced, or shredded?

Maddie: I would describe your head as swollen. Let's get to work.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Lobby]

[Cut to Tom and Maddie, as Randall and Rachel, entering the lobby of G.U.N. Headquarters.]

Tom: Agent Randall Handel. I'm here to have lunch with my lovely wife, Rachel.

Security Guard: I'm sorry, Agent Handel. This facility is currently locked down. Command-level clearance only.

Tom: One minute. [whispering; on com] Tails, we have a problem here.

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: [on com] They must have tightened security after Shadow's escape.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Lobby]

Maddie: I got this. [to the guard] You must be new here. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rachel. Rachel Gonna-Get-You-Fired. Do you know what G.U.N. stands for?

Security Guard: Of course. Guardian Units...

Maddie: [imitates buzzer] Gettin'... Ultra... Nasty. Do you want me to get ultra nasty?! NASTY NASTY?!?!

Security Guard: No, ma'am.

Maddie: Okay then. Then go ahead and take those little sad fingers and start typity-type-type-typin'! Mm-hmm. That's right. Go on.

[The security guard allows them to proceed.]

Security Guard: Sorry for the inconvenience, ma'am.

Maddie: Mm-hm. That's what I thought!

[They make their way through the entry gate.]

Maddie: [to herself] My God, I love being Rachel.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallway]

[Once they arrive at the door to the server room, they turn off their disguises and Maddie switches to Rockwell.]

Maddie: Did it work?

Tom: [lovingly] Yeah.

[Maddie punches him in the gut out of jealousy.]

Maddie: Director Rockwell, seeking access to the server room.

G.U.N. Worker: [voice] Just one moment, ma'am.

Tom: Oh no. No, no, no, it's her. It's the real her!

[They see the real Rockwell walking with her troops while chatting to one of them.]

Rockwell: What of the situation in Colorado?

Soldier: We are still assessing.

Rockwell: What do you mean we're still assessing?

Tom: What do we do?

Maddie: [turns off her disguise] Quick, change faces!

Tom: Okay.

[Tom tries to his but his device briefly glitches, giving him big eyes, turning his ears big, turning his head small, turning him to Sergeant Sprinkles, Little Tom and Ozzie.]

Tom: Did it work? Huh? What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? What am I doing wrong?!

[Maddie then slaps him, fixing his Randall disguise.]

Tom: Ow! [to Rockwell] Aye, aye, captain.

[Rockwell gives him a suspicious look. After she leaves the scene, Tom deactivates his disguise.]

Maddie: "Aye, aye, captain"? Who are you, Popeye?!

Tom: I panicked! I was panicking!

Maddie: Geez! Get it together!

[The door open and they enter the server room.]

Tom: [on com] Okay, Tails, what are we looking for?

Tails: [on com] (V.O.) The security server is in the 7th row, 23rd cabinet.

[Scene change: London Eye, London]

Sonic: [on com; impatient] Are you guys finished yet? This is taking forever.

[He slams his fist on the glass, getting the attention of some people inside one of the cars.]

Sonic: Uh oh.

[Scene change: Big Ben, London]

Knuckles: [on com] Has the time come to break the glass? [bored] Or at least break something.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Server Room]

[Cut back to the server room.]

Tom: [on com] Alright, hang tight, guys, Maddie's about to insert the drive.

Maddie: [on com; gets out the hard drive] Ready? Three, two, one... [inserts Tails' hard drive] Go!

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

[Tails presses the command key a few times, but nothing happens.]

Tails: [on com] It didn't work.

[The screen splits in three for Sonic and Knuckles to appear.]

Sonic: [on com] Did you put it in the right way?

Knuckles: [on com] Try punching it!

Tails: [on com] Do not try punching it.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Server Room]

Tom: Oh! Take it out and blow on it.

Maddie: Yes.

[He takes it out and blows on it with Maddie.]

Tails: [on com; in dismay] (V.O.) Oh, come on, Tom. There's absolutely no scientific evidence to support...

[He inserts it back in and the servers turn yellow.]

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: [on com] Never mind. It worked.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Server Room]

Tom: A little trick from the 90s.

Maddie: The best decade ever, right? [they high-five]

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: [on com] I'm shutting down the outside sensors now.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Server Room]

Maddie: [on com] Yes! [notices something] Uh, hold on, is there supposed to be another USB drive here?

Tom: [on com] One with a giant mustache on it?

[We see another USB drive inserted in a server, that has Ivo's logo on it.]

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: Oh, no.

[Tails scans the building and detects the Robotniks' thermal signatures.]

Tails: [on com] I've got two heat signatures en route to the vault, which can only mean...

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallways]

[Two G.U.N. soldiers walk by a few portraits of the generals before them. One shows a familiar face, revealing it as Ivo using his suit when he steps out of his camouflage.]

Ivo: The Robotniks have entered the chat. [stops to notice his grandfather's not around] Wait. Poppyseed? Grand geezer? ¿Dónde está? (Translation: "Where are you?")

[Behind him, Gerald's also using the same suit to cover his body but his head over another portrait of a G.U.N. general.]

Gerald: [quietly] I'm right here!

[Ivo turns around to spot him before his suit turns off.]

Gerald: If you weren't family, I could've gut you like a pheasant. I mean... try to keep up.

[Gerald walks off, as Ivo looks at him sadly.]

[Scene change: Sewers]

[The Mecha Crab is waiting in London's sewers.]

Telenovela Announcer: [offscreen] And now back to... La Última Pasión.

[Scene Change: La Última Pasión]

[In the show, Gabriella hand each of the brothers a crossbow of different sizes. One big for Pablo, one small for Juan.]

Gabriella: Última pasión... can only belong to one.

Juan: No... it can be only belong... to Juan.

[Scene change: Mecha Crab]

[Shadow watches the show and scowls at Gabriella on screen.]

Shadow: Gabriella should kill them both. She's not a prize to be won.

Stone: Kill this, murder that. You need to lighten up, Shadow. We're about to rule the world.

Shadow: [darkly] When we're done... there won't be anything left to rule.

Stone: That is dark, even for you. What are you and the professor up to?

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: [finds something on his computer] Hello... What's this? I knew I saw an outside signal!

[Scene change: Mecha Crab]

[Soon, the show got interrupted when Tails comes on screen.]

Tails: [on screen] Cheerio! I guess someone's forgot to flush!

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

[Tails hits a button on his computer.]

[Scene change: Mecha Crab]

[The crab shakes from something rumbling in the sewers.]

[Scene change: Sewers]

[A flood gushers through the sewers.]

[Scene change: Mecha Crab]

[Crab's on red alert. Shadow braces his fighting stance. Stone turns around in horror. Camera zooms on him as stuff behind him on the table falls by the shaking sound of the flood coming close.]

[Scene change: Sewers]

[The flood pushes the crab as we can hear Stone's screaming from underwater, seeing the crab swept away.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Laser Room]

[The Robotniks enter the laser room. The vault is across through the lasers.]

Gerald: What now, my cunning cohort?

Ivo: Just a little team... [shoves Gerald behind him to the room] WORK!

[Gerald freaks out of the lasers bouncing off his suit before he falls on the ground, rolling around before stopping while the lasers are pointing at his big butt. Gerald gets up, covers his behind while noticing something off.]

Gerald: Hey... the lasers. Don't seem to be... penetrating my suit. They're conforming to the shape of my bodacious bod.

Ivo: Of course. [reaches his hand out to have the lasers reflect off him; walks to Gerald while the lasers bounce off Ivo.] I designed these suits to create a field of laser-bending distortion. Wasn't sure it would work 'til now.

Gerald: You're heartless, son.

Ivo: Mmm.

Gerald: Rotten to the core.

Ivo: Mm-hmm.

Gerald: I'm... so proud. So now we can just dance right through.

Ivo: [points at Gerald] That sounds like a challenge!

[Gerald takes out Shadow's quill and licks it, electrocuting himself before the Robotniks start dancing to "Galvanize" by The Chemical Brothers, turning the laser room into a dance room.]

Ivo: [lip-syncing to the lyrics] My finger is on the button.

Gerald: [lip-syncing] Push the button.

[The Robotniks perform a stylish spin as the song's bridge blares on, the two looking on giddily at each other.]

Tails: [on com] The Robotniks are almost to the vault!

[Scene change: London Eye, London]

Sonic: [readies his running stance; on com] We're out of time! I'm going.

Tails: [on com] No, Sonic! I haven't disabled the traps yet!

Sonic: [on com] Too late!

[Sonic speeds around the London Eye and zooms off.]

[He runs down the streets of London.]

Sonic: Look at me! I'm running on the wrong side of the road!

[The energy field starts to form around G.U.N. Headquarters.]

Sonic: [running] I gotta take in the sights.

[Sonic breaks into the palace running.]

Sonic: [offscreen] Excuse me. Pardon me. Ello, guvnor? Which way to Hogwarts?

[Sonic emerges in a royal robe and a crown on his head while holding a staff.]

Sonic: [as he holds a cup of tea.] Hear ye, hear ye. Sonic the Hedgehog wants a cup of tea.

[He speeds past the Royal Guardsmen, giving one of them the royal outfit.]

Sonic: [offscreen] Hold this for me, please?

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, London]

[Sonic runs to G.U.N. Headquarters, as the energy field closes.]

[Scene change: 20 Fenchurch Street, London]

Tails: [on com] You're not gonna make it!

[Scene change: London]

Sonic: [on com; running] I can make it.

[Sonic slides into the London Bridge, launching himself to the force field.]

[Scene change: Big Ben, London]

Knuckles: [on com] You're not gonna make it!

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, London]

Sonic: [on com] I'm gonna make it!

[The shield was almost about to close on him.]

Sonic: I'm not gonna make it. I'M NOT GONNA MAKE IT!

[Luckily, Tails flies in, spins him around, and throws him through the hole just as it was closing.]

Sonic: Made it.

Tails: Wooo!

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Lobby]

[He speeds into the building and runs past GUN workers.]

Sonic: Excuse me. Coming through. No time for autographs. Gotta go. Bye!

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Vault]

[The Robotniks enter the vault and find the second key unguarded.]

Ivo: Our destiny awaits.

[Sonic arrives on the vault too.]

Sonic: Stop right there, Robo-scum!

Ivo: Let's do this!

Gerald: Copy!

[They rush into the vault, but part of the floor turns red, and they get magnetized to the floor.]

Sonic: Too slow, Eggmen. Now, if you don’t mind, I gotta get that key...

[Part of the floor he's on turns green, making him float up.]

Sonic: My feet! Why can't I use my beautiful feet?!

[Ivo laughs. Suddenly, Rockwell enters the chamber, holding a tablet that activates the gravity in the room.]

Rockwell: Because... this vault is armed with variable gravity.

Gerald: [as he tries to get up] No kidding.

Rockwell: Green goes up and red takes you down, hard.

Sonic: Rockwell, listen to me. The Robotniks are planning...

[Rockwell spins Sonic in the air.]

Rockwell: They're planning on stealing the second key just like you are. Yes, I'm aware. I called it the second Commander Walters was attacked. So, thank you... for taking the bait and falling right into my trap.

Ivo: I don't believe this.

Gerald: I know, grandson. A woman in the military?

[G.U.N. soldiers escort a captured Tom, Maddie and Tails in the vault too.]

Tom: Robotnik. Going full spandex, huh? Who's the fossil?

Ivo: That's my grandfather, you dough-eating dimbecile.

Gerald: Who are they?

Ivo: A couple of bleeding hearts, here to rescue their emotional-support animals.

Rockwell: Enough! It's over. The only way you’re leaving here is in handcuffs. There's no other way out.

Sonic: You know, there might be one other way out.

Rockwell: And what is that supposed to mean?

Sonic: [on com] Hey, big guy...

[Scene change: Big Ben, London]

Sonic: [on com] (V.O.) I think it's time to...

[Knuckles jumps off the Big Ben and charges toward G.U.N. HQ with his Flames of Disaster.]

Knuckles: BREAK GLASS IN CASE OF EMERGENCY!!!

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Vault]

[Knuckles bursts through the energy shield and into the building, knocking Rockwell away and leaving the device to him.]

Knuckles: Ha! Nothing can stop Team Knuckles.

Rockwell: Open fire!

[The soldiers start firing their guns.]

Sonic: Knuckles, turn this stuff off. Hurry!

Knuckles: On it.

[Knuckles punches and breaks the device, malfunctioning it.]

Knuckles Uh, oh.

[Knuckles and the G.U.N. agents are sent flying.]

Sonic: Ha! See how you like...

[Sonic then gets slammed into the floor as his green panel turns red. Tom, Maddie and Tails watch the chaos unfold until they are stuck in red panels.]

Tom: Can you move?

Maddie: No. Not at all. Tails, can you?

Tails: No. I'm stuck.

Tom: We might be here for a while.

[Knuckles punches out a G.U.N. soldier while Rockwell looks for the keycard.]

Rockwell: Where's the key?

[She spots it floating in the air, so she flies toward it. A metal bar from some debris falls near Maddie.]

Maddie: Whoa!

Tom: What was that?

Maddie: We might have a problem.

[Sonic notices the debris crumbling above his friends and family.]

Sonic: [scared] No, no, no, no, no!

[Rockwell pushes through some soldiers to try to reach the keycard. However, the floor panels turn red, and they fall to the floor. Rockwell sees the key, but notices Ivo also within reach of it, both inching forward as they race for the keycard.]

Ivo: I'm moving. I'm moving!

Gerald: You go get it, grandson! [his dentures pop out of his mouth.] Hey.

[Knuckles floats by over Rockwell and Ivo. More debris breaks off and falls on the others.]

Sonic: [scared] No, no, no!

[Rockwell and Ivo continue to inch their way towards the keycard.]

Ivo: I'm almost there.

[More debris falls near the others.]

Maddie: Whoa!

[Sonic staggers against the increased gravity, charging a Spin Dash. Finally, the debris breaks off and falls toward the others.]

Tom: SONIC!!!

[Sonic's Spin Dash allows him to break free from the panel and destroy the debris that were about to hit the others. As he lands, the chaos energy pulse from his Spin Dash shorts out the panels, sending everybody falling to the floor. Rockwell takes the keycard before Ivo.]

Ivo: That was so not worth it!

[Gerald puts his dentures back on as the others get up.]

Tom: You okay?

Maddie: Yeah.

Tom: Sonic!

[They rush over to Sonic.]

Tom: Hey.

Sonic: [groans] Sonic, one. Concrete boulder, zero.

Maddie: Thanks for the save.

Tom: Cutting it a little close, don't you think?

Rockwell: Secure the room!

[She heads out of the room with the keycard in hand.]

Maddie: She's got the key.

Tom: I got an idea.

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallway]

[Cut to Rockwell, as she walks down the hall, she stops to come across... a still-alive Walters?]

Rockwell: [shocked] Commander Walters? Sir. You are...

"Commander Walters": Still alive? I will die before I let the key fall into the wrong hands. Thanks for keeping it safe. I'll take it from here.

[Rockwell hesitates for a moment.]

"Walters": That's an order, Director Rockwell.

[Rockwell hands "Walters" the keycard.]

"Walters": Now, organize the reinforcements.

Rockwell: Yes, sir.

[As Rockwell leaves, "Walters" goes off before revealing he's actually Tom in disguise.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallway]

Tom: [on com] Guys, guys, I got the key. I repeat, I got the key. Now let's get out of here.

[Unfortunately, as he reactivates as Walters, Shadow bursts into the building and spots him.]

Shadow: [angrily] Commander Walters.

Tom: No, no, no! Wait!

[Shadow charges up in and punches Tom away, knocking him out. As Shadow grabs the keycard, the disguise turns off, revealing it's actually Tom.]

Shadow: What?

[Sonic then arrives in the hallway.]

Sonic: Tom, everyone's clear. Come on, let's go. [notices Shadow] You! What are you...?

[Sonic notices an unconscious Tom next to Shadow.]

Sonic Tom! [rushes over to the downed Tom] Tom. Tom, what happened? Speak to me, come on! Come on, come on, it's gonna be okay. Please, please, please get up! Hey, come on, please wake up! Wake up, wake up, wake up! Come on! Wake up, wake up, wake up!

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 years ago]

[Shadow flashes back to Maria's death, after seeing Sonic panicking over Tom's body.]

Shadow: Maria!

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallway]

[Shadow begins to feel bad for his action.]

Sonic: [enraged] What did you do?!

Shadow: [looking at the keycard] What I had to.

[Shadow teleports away, as Maddie arrives in the hallway as well.]

Maddie: Oh, my God. Tom!

[Maddie rushes near Tom, as Tails and Knuckles arrive as well.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Vault]

[Gerald struggles to get up.]

Gerald: Help me up, kid.

[Robotnik helps his grandfather up from the floor. However, G.U.N. soldiers surround them.]

G.U.N. Soldier: Freeze! Don't move!

Ivo: [to Gerald] Any tricks up your sleeve, Captain Gran-tastic?

[Suddenly, Shadow teleports around and takes out the soldiers. When he shows up, Ivo yelps in fear and hides behind Gerald before popping back out.]

Shadow: [holds up the keycard] We got what we came for.

Gerald: Great job, Shadow.

Ivo: We have both keys. So, where's your little science project?

Gerald: It's closer than you think, my boy.

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Shadow teleports them into the Eclipse Cannon's bridge. The lights turn on, surprising Ivo.]

Gerald: Welcome... to my masterpiece. I must hand it to G.U.N. They built her to my exact specifications.

Ivo: It's remarkable...

Gerald: Mm-hmm.

Ivo: Astounding...

Gerald: Yes.

Ivo: [turns and points at Gerald] That's my genius grandino!

Gerald: And I have one more surprise.

[Two costumes rise up on display. White for Gerald and red for Ivo.]

Gerald: It's a new suit.

[Ivo looks back and forth before squealing in joy. He gets on the floor and crawls to Gerald's foot, kissing it.]

Gerald: Gee.

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

[Stone makes it onto land, while the Mecha Crab sinks in the river.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[The Robotniks dress up on their new suits.]

Ivo: [singing] I'm a chip off the old block. I'm a chip off the old block. I'm a chip off the old block!

[Just then, his communicator rings and he answers it.]

Ivo: What do you want, Stone? I'm busy.

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

Stone: Doctor, I have a bad feeling about this. I don't think your grandfather has been completely honest with us. It was something Shadow said.

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Stone: [on phone] There's more to their plan.

[Ivo briefly looks at his grandfather looking at him coldly.]

Ivo: How... dare you?! You've been jealous of my long-lost grand-pop tart since the very beginning. I no longer require your obsequious groveling. Consider this your notice of termination. Your letter of reference will be "L" for loser. Of course, I'll expect you to stay on until you've been successfully cloned, but you and I... are done! Like a blackened catfish dinner!

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

Stone: Sir, it's too dangerous and I'm not there to protect you. I already lost you once! I...

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Ivo: Unsubscribed, blocked and reported. [Ivo hangs up.]

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

Stone: [distraught] I can't lose you again.

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Gerald holds up the two keycards to his grandson.]

Gerald: Do the honors, grandson.

Ivo: [giddily] Here we go.

[Ivo places both keycards, activating the station.]

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

[Something opens in the River Thames before the Eclipse Cannon rises out from it, as multiple civilians look at it with shock and horror.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, Hallway]

[Maddie and Team Sonic watch in bewilderment, as the Eclipse Cannon ascends.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[In the ship, Ivo offers a high five to Gerald, who doesn't respond to him back. Shadow watches the cannon rising with his arms crossed.]

[Scene change: Thames River, London]

[Stone looks at the powerful space weapon launching, horrified.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. Headquarters, London]

[Outside of G.U.N. Headquarters, multiple police cars and ambulances arrive to assess the situation, along with G.U.N. reinforcements. Tom is taken to an ambulance while Maddie tags along. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles sadly watch them go. Maddie looks to Sonic, telling him it's not his fault. The doors close and the ambulance drives away. Team Sonic is at a loss, especially Sonic. Tails tries to comfort him.]

Tails: It'll be okay, Sonic.

Sonic: "It'll be okay"? Tom is fighting for his life, and you think it'll be okay?

Knuckles: The fox is simply trying to comfort you.

Sonic: Comfort's not what I need right now. I need to stop them, by any means necessary.

Tails: Wait, you don't mean...?

Sonic: The Master Emerald.

Knuckles: The Emerald must never be wielded for vengeance. Not ever. We swore a sacred oath.

Sonic: Don't talk to me about oaths. Not now!

Tails: But you told Tom using the emerald wasn't the right choice.

Sonic: Well, now it's the only choice! And if neither of you have the guts to help me, then I'll do it alone.

Tails: But I thought the three of us were a team. I thought that’s what made us special.

Sonic: [angrily; to Knuckles] I'm not asking you twice, Knuckles. [Sonic charges up with Chaos energy.] Where is the Master Emerald?

[Knuckles charges up with Chaos energy as well.]

Knuckles: Your heart is being consumed by anger, hedgehog. You are in no condition to make decisions right now.

Tails: I know you're upset about Tom. We all are.

Sonic: Last chance. Where... [The tone shift in Sonic's voice just as his eyes glow fluorescent blue.] —IS IT?!

Knuckles: Don't do this. [Knuckles' eyes start glowing fluorescent red as well.]

[As Sonic and Knuckles come to an ultimatum, the chaos energy within Knuckles begins to die down just as he relents.]

Knuckles: Part of our oath is to trust each other. And I must abide by that promise, even if you have chosen to break it. But heed this warning: the Master Emerald is guarded by a fearsome warrior, and to seize this ultimate power, you will have to go... through him.

[Scene change: Sheriff Department, Green Hills]

[It is revealed that this fearsome warrior is none other than... Wade Whipple, who plays hockey with the Master Emerald.]

Wade: [to himself] Okay, Wade. It all comes down to this. [bats the Emerald around] Last few seconds. Whipple down the ice. He shoots. [shoots the Emerald into the goal] HE SCOOOOORES!!! Wade Whipple is the champion again!

[Just then, Sonic arrives via a ring portal.]

Wade: Oh, hey, Sonic. Seen my goal? Pretty sick, right?

Sonic: [sternly] I'm here for the emerald.

Wade: Look, Sonic, I'm sorry. I promised to guard this Emerald with my life. I will do whatever it takes to-- [Sonic quickly takes the Master Emerald from his hand] Well, I tried.

[Using the power of the Master Emerald, Sonic unleashes the Chaos Emeralds and transforms into his super form as wind blows around. Wade hangs onto the goal.]

Wade: AHH! Too bright!

[After absorbing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Super Sonic then flies off, up towards the Eclipse Cannon.]

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

[Many people look at the news showing the Eclipse Cannon terrified, including Stone.]

Female British Newscaster: [on TV] This is an urgent national emergency broadcast. A spacecraft designed by the agency G.U.N. has been hijacked and launched out of the River Thames.

[Scene change: Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo]

[Cut to the broadcast in Tokyo being told by a Japanese newscaster, revealing that the Robotniks are behind the crime.]

[Scene change: Times Square, New York City]

Male American Newscaster: [on TV] All residents are urged to seek immediate shelter.

[Scene change: Space]

[The Eclipse Cannon activates the main weapon, and a mustache made out of solar panels is activated. The station looks like Gerald's face.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Gerald and Shadow look at the Earth.]

Gerald: It's time, Shadow.

Shadow: Professor. Is this really what Maria would have wanted?

Gerald: The question isn't what Maria would have wanted. It's what do they deserve. Remember what she meant to us. Remember what they took from us.

[Shadow walks away and starts remembering the accident.]

[Scene change: G.U.N. military base, 50 year ago]

[Shadow is enjoying Maria's music. Gerald enters Shadow and Maria's room to warn them.]

Gerald: Kids! We have to go, now!

[Shadow, Gerald and Maria are running away from G.U.N. agents.]

Gerald: They want to take Shadow away from us, Maria!

[As they run, G.U.N. soldiers point their weapons at them. Captain Walters hurries towards them and tries to push the gun of one of the soldiers away.]

Captain Walters: Hey! Wait! What are you doing?! Those are children!

G.U.N. Soldier: We've got our orders, Walters!

Captain Walters: Stand down!

[One of them fires at an energy tank nearby. This causes the glass to crack before a huge explosion erupts at the base. When the dust clears, Shadow looks before finding Gerald kneeling over the deceased Maria.]

Shadow: Maria!

[Shadow and Gerald share solemn looks on their faces. G.U.N. soldiers then surround the two. Shadow's blood boils over the loss of Maria and his eyes surge with orange chaos energy.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon reactor]

[Shadow lets out a loud scream of rage. After that, he furiously runs around the cannon's core, charging it with chaos energy.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Ivo: Excuse me, grandpasadoble. What is that thermonuclear gerbil doing?

Gerald: Infusing the core with chaos energy. That's my little secret. The Eclipse Cannon is about to turn this planet into a flaming pile of rubble, wiping out everything in a 25,000-mile radius... [his grandson's expression turns pale] including us.

Ivo: WHAT?!?! We can't annihilate the Earth! By combining our genius, we can rule humanity... together.

Gerald: Humanity is a failed experiment. If anyone should know that, it's you. All your life, you’ve been rejected by this world. You have nothing down there. No one who cares about you.

Ivo: But I have you now. We're family. We have each other.

Gerald: Oh, Ivo... you're no Maria. The moment I lost her, my family was gone forever. The only way to give Maria's life meaning is to destroy the world that took her from me... SO I'M BURNING IT ALL DOWN!!!

[Shadow teleports next to Gerald.]

Shadow: It's done.

Gerald: Good work, Shadow. I'm prepping the firing sequence. [activates the countdown] The weapon will be fully charged in ten minutes.

[Shadow looks at Earth through the window.]

Shadow: It's almost finished, Maria. You will have justice.

[Just then, they notice a golden blur heading towards them.]

Gerald: What is that...?

Shadow: Is G.U.N. launching missiles at us?

Gerald: Impossible... it's moving too fast!

[Ivo notices Sonic's quill with the chaos energy around it shifts from fluorescent blue to golden yellow]

Ivo: It's him.

[Super Sonic charges through the bridge and collides into Shadow from the spaceship, crashing through the window. The Robotniks hang on for their dear lives as things start to get sucked out of the ship. The airlock activates, shutting down the suction and dropping the two to the floor.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Super Sonic holds Shadow pulling him, zooming down to Earth in rage.]

Super Sonic: You hurt my family! THIS ENDS NOW!

Shadow: Now you know my anger. The pain I've felt for 50 YEARS! And you've made the same choice I did.

Super Sonic: I'M NOTHING LIKE YOU!

Shadow: We'll see.

[He grabs Super Sonic and turns him around as they crash on Earth.]

[Scene change: Earth]

[The crash landing creates a volcanic field.]

Super Sonic: [as he gets up] SHOW YOURSELF, COWARD!

[Shadow teleports right behind and knocks the Chaos Emeralds out of Sonic, reverting him to his normal self. The two hedgehogs see the Emeralds and race toward them. Upon reach, a golden beam bursts forth. Sonic turns back to Super Sonic, but he sees that Shadow has now entered his super form. Super Sonic glares and throws his fist at Super Shadow, who holds it back with his hand, the impact causing the ground to crack beneath their feet.]

Super Shadow: You were right about one thing... this ends now.

[He starts beating Super Sonic down, slamming him and spinning him before throwing him through some mountains, spewing lava everywhere. Super Shadow tries to punch him, but Super Sonic grabs his fist and flies with him in his grasp. The two hedgehogs fight, with Super Sonic dragging him across the ground before punching him around the world.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[The Robotniks watch the hedgehogs' Super duel from space.]

Gerald: What's happening? Where are they?

Ivo: [points up] Up there.

Gerald: Where?

Ivo: Higher.

[As Gerald looks up, Ivo takes a punch at his gramps' windpipe, making him gasp and drop to the floor.]

Ivo: Left yourself open.

[Ivo starts running toward the computer.]

Gerald: Ivo, what are you doing?!

Ivo: Thwarting your evil plan!

[Gerald summons a jetpack and flies toward Ivo, colliding into him. The two Robotniks tussle on the floor and pull at each other's mustaches.]

Both Robotniks: [in pain] OW-OW-OW-OW-OW-OW-OW!

Ivo: Not the mustache!

Gerald: Agreed!

Ivo: Let go on three. One, two, three!

[They both let go and shake their mustaches before Gerald creates a giant fist out of nanobots.]

Ivo: Ooooh... a nanofist. I haven't seen that since I hate-watched Green Lantern in 2011.

Gerald: I was saving it for Comic-Con, but now there won't be a Comic-Con!

[He slaps his grandson hard in the face.]

[Scene change: Earth]

[Super Sonic and Super Shadow continue to punch and kick each other, until the latter send the former flying into the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, Greece.]

Super Shadow: Why are you alone? Where are your friends? [in realization] They tried to stop you, didn't they? But you came anyway. Your anger was too much. What kind of hero abandons his friends to pursue revenge, abandons his family?

Super Sonic: Don't you dare talk about my family!

Super Shadow: And here I thought you cared for them, especially the one... What's his name, Tom? [Super Sonic yells out in rage and sends a powerful punch at Super Shadow, destroying the ruins in the process.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Super Shadow is sent flying to the Moon, where he reverts back to normal. Super Sonic arrives, grabs Shadow, and prepares to finish him.]

Shadow: Go ahead! FINISH IT!

[An enraged Super Sonic briefly holds back.]

Shadow: What are you waiting for?! DO IT! [points at his chest] I'M RIGHT HERE!

[Seeing this motion, Sonic remembers Tom's words back at his old home.]

[Scene change: Hedgehog Cave, flashback]

Tom: You didn't let your pain change who you are... [taps Sonic's chest] in here.

[Scene change: Moon]

[Super Sonic, realizing what he has become, lets go of Shadow.]

Super Sonic: This is not who I am...

[Super Sonic walks away from Shadow, sits down and reverting back to normal while being crawled up.]

Shadow: What are you doing? You won. Take your revenge.

Sonic: There are no winners with revenge.

[Shadow sees Sonic's sad expression on his face before looking up to the stars.]

Maria: (V.O.) Wow. Look at all those stars. They're like diamonds.

Shadow: The last time I sat beneath stars like this... I was with her. I felt this pain for so long. It's all I know.

Sonic: When I lost Longclaw, I felt the same way.

Shadow: Did your pain eventually go away?

Sonic: No. But in time, I learned that there was something even more powerful than pain. The love we felt for each other. That's what you need to hold onto, Shadow. Maria might be gone, but your love for her will always remain.

[They watch the sun rise up on Earth.]

Shadow: The light shines... even though the star's gone.

[Sonic smiles proudly at Shadow for a moment but notices the Eclipse Cannon from afar still charging up.]

Shadow: This whole mess is my fault. I've been so blinded by rage, I thought... I had no choice.

[Sonic stands as he extends his hand to Shadow.]

Sonic: You always have a choice.

[Shadow grabs it and stands up.]

Sonic: But making the right one is never easy. One more thing I learned is that when you really screw something up, you can't fix it on your own.

[Shadow smiles. The two hedgehogs grab hands whilst the seven Chaos Emeralds appear, Sonic and Shadow enter their Super Forms once again whilst they were briefly engulfed in a beaming golden light. Super Sonic pulls back the cuff of his left glove and briefly summons a fiery aura, while Super Shadow cracks his knuckles.]

Super Sonic: Gotta go fast!

Super Shadow: Don't tell me you've got a catchphrase.

Super Sonic: That's right, new hedgehog, and everyone loves it.

[The two supercharged hedgehogs then launch themselves off the moon and fly off towards the Eclipse Cannon, as the iconic "Live and Learn" song by Crush 40 plays in the background.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Gerald uses his nano fist to spank his grandson.]

Gerald: [while spanking his grandson] I... will... not... try... to stop... my... elders... from... destroying... the... world!

[Ivo creates a power drill and stabs Gerald's foot. Gerald yells in pain, letting go of him.]

Gerald: Playtime is over!

[He summons robotic claws and a stinger tail, making him like a scorpion. His tail destroys the control panel, preventing the launch sequence from being aborted.]

Gerald: There's no going back now!

[He inches menacingly towards his grandson.]

Ivo: [to his computer] Set up defense!

[The computer sets up a white picket fence, complete with a mailbox.]

Ivo: Damn you, autocorrect!

[Gerald charges towards his grandson and grabs his right arm, which turns robotic.]

Ivo: [to his computer] Mantis!

[The computer sets up mantis claws. Gerald tries to attack with his stinger, but Ivo flies away with mantis wings.]

Ivo: I'm right here, arach-nerd.

[The two block each other's hits, but Robotnik manages to slice a piece of Gerald's mustache with a swipe of his claw, as Gerald glances at it and back to him.]

Ivo: [laughs] That's what I call mantis-scaping.

Gerald: That's ELDER ABUSE!

[Gerald trips his grandson over the edge of the platform, but he manages to hang on to the edge, holding on.]

Computer: Alert! Alert!

[Gerald notices Super Sonic and Super Shadow on a screen across him.]

Gerald: Shadow... I see you've chosen betrayal, and you were once so useful to me.

[He presses a button on his wrist computer.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Outside the Eclipse Cannon, an army of robots is deployed and attacks Super Sonic and Super Shadow.]

Super Sonic: Ready to recycle some tin cans?

Super Shadow: Just try to keep up.

[The duo proceed to plow through the metal soldiers as "Live and Learn" blares. They then pose in their Super Forms à la Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Gerald walks over to where Robotnik hangs at the edge of the platform.]

Ivo: Please, Grampsy! Don't do this!

Gerald: Sorry, kiddo. Bring Your Grandkid to Work Day is over.

[Gerald opens up the glass hatch below his grandson.]

Gerald: Any last words?!

Ivo: Just... one thing... that I never thought I can say!

Gerald: What is it, "I love you"?

Ivo: No! It was something even better, but I'm not even gonna say it if that's the way you're gonna be.

Gerald: [nonchalantly] Okay. Bye.

[Gerald stomps on Ivo's hand, sending him falling to his demise.]

Gerald: [laughs evilly] Ah, grandchildren. All the fun and none of the responsibility.

[However, Ivo flies back in the base, being carried by Tails and Knuckles via a Ring portal, while holding Sonic's supercharged quill.]

Ivo: Who said life was pointless?

Gerald: Huh?

Ivo: Oh, right. You did.

[Ivo uses the quill to zap his grandfather in the butt, launching him up in pain into the energy field, where he disintegrates with a faint zap.]

Tails: Whoo-hoo!

Knuckles: Victory!

Ivo: Say what you want about my granddad, he made one hell of a bug zapper.

[He blows the quill and throws it away as he and the others get up.]

Tails: We gotta stop that laser.

Ivo: I knew there was something I was forgetting.

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

[Many civilians look at the Eclipse Cannon ready to fire on Earth, including Stone.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Super Shadow destroys another robot as he sees the Eclipse Cannon is fully charged.]

Super Shadow: We're out of time. The cannon is about to fire! Where are you?

[He turns around to see Super Sonic being chased by the rest of the robots.]

Super Sonic: Oh, you know. Just making friends. They're all yours.

[Super Shadow unleashes Chaos Spears to destroy the robots before flying off with Sonic towards the Eclipse Cannon.]

Super Sonic: Follow me!

[The weapon fires as the two approach it.]

Super Sonic: Now this might hurt a little!

[The laser strikes, hitting the hedgehogs.]

[Scene change: London]

[The civilians cover themselves, until they see something blocking the beam. In a hospital room with Tom, Maddie watches it from the window.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Super Sonic and Super Shadow both struggle against the beam.]

Super Shadow: So, this was your plan?!

Super Sonic: [grunting] Yeah... Would someone mind shutting down the giant death ray?!

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[With Eggman cracking his knuckles, he and Tails sit down to the pilot seats.]

Tails: We can't stop the cannon from firing...

Dr. Eggman: But we can steer it away from the Earth. Coming around to starboard.

Tails: Aye, aye, doc.

[Tails pulls the lever up, powering the thrusters as he and Robotnik try to turn the weapon away from Earth.]

Eggman: Here we go. It's a little tight. Definitely not power-steering.

[The Eclipse Cannon starts turning around.]

[Scene change: Space]

Super Sonic: Keep... turning!

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Robotnik: Jump in anytime here, guys!

[Tails and Knuckles help Eggman. A monitor shows the beam's trajectory still within Earth's range.]

[Scene change: Space]

Super Sonic: Can't... hold... much... longer!

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Eggman, Tails and Knuckles use all their strength to steer the wheel.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Super Sonic reaches his limit, reverting to normal as he passes out. Luckily, just as he does, the cannon's beam misses Earth.]

[Scene change: London]

[Meanwhile in London, the people see the ray passing quickly through the sky.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Eggman, Tails and Knuckles cheer for their win.]

Eggman: Yes, I did it! I DID IT!

[Unfortunately, the laser cuts through the Moon. The others wince and recoil at this.]

Eggman, Tails and Knuckles: OHHHHHHH!

Eggman: [to Tails and Knuckles] Look what you did!

Tails: Hey! Look down there!

Knuckles: Sonic!

[Scene change: Space]

[An unconscious Sonic is seen falling towards Earth.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Tails: Oh, Knuckles, please tell me you have a...

Knuckles: [holds up one ring] Last one.

[Tails grabs the ring.]

Tails: Let's make it count.

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon airlock]

[Tails and Knuckles rush to the airlock.]

Tails: Ready for a little base of ball?

[Tails pulls down the lever and the hatch prepares to open. He then gets on Knuckles' hand, pretending to be a ball.]

Tails: Deep breath. One... two... three!

[The hatch opens, and Knuckles throws Tails out. Tails leaps off to rescue Sonic.]

[Scene change: Space]

[The Eclipse Cannon overloads and begins exploding.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Super Shadow teleports next to Eggman, scaring him.]

Eggman: Really!?

Super Shadow: What's happening?

Eggman: The reactor core is overloading. It's only a matter of time before it blows.

Super Shadow: So, what does that mean for Earth?

Eggman: A radioactive atmosphere. Rain that kills the crops and melts your flesh. Other than that...

Super Shadow: [pushing Eggman through the wall] We're not done here. You try to stabilize the reactor. Buy me some time. I'll push the station away from Earth before it explodes. This is our last chance... to do the right thing.

Eggman: [speaking Spanish] Vaya con Dios... [salutes] erizo apestoso. (Translation: "Go with God... stinking hedgehog.")

[Super Shadow teleports offscreen.]

Computer: Core integrity failing.

[Eggman immediately gets to work.]

[Scene change: Space]

[Tails manages to catch up with Sonic and grabs him.]

Tails: I... got you, Sonic!

[He gets out the portal ring and prepares to throw it, only to lose consciousness. Meanwhile, Super Shadow removes his Limiter Rings and, using his strength, pushes the Eclipse Cannon away.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

[Eggman goes to the center of the bridge and gets on a platform, which rises up as the place falls apart.]

Computer: Initializing reactor core stabilizers.

[He proceeds to build up a shield to protect himself from the energy blasts before he brings up a camera, initializing a live feed.]

Eggman: This is Doctor Ivo Robotnik, dedicating my final livestream to one very special henchman...

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

[Stone can be seeing witnessing Robotnik's livestream.]

Eggman: [on TV] Agent Stone.

Stone: No, no! Doctor, wait!

Eggman: [on TV] If I can't rule the world...

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Eggman: ...I might as well save it! For the one and only person who ever cared about me.

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

Stone: Don't do this, doctor. Please!

Eggman: [on TV] Stone...

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Eggman: You were more than a sycophant to me. You were... a syco-friend.

[Scene change: Space]

[The Eclipse Cannon continues exploding.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Eggman: I'll miss your lattes with steamed Austrian goat milk. I love the way you make 'em!

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

[Stone drops a tear from his eye, smiling.]

[Scene change: Space]

[As Shadow pushes the station away, he remembers fond memories of his friendship with Maria. After 50 years of lingering pain guiding his choices, he's finally willing to make things right.]

[Scene change: Stratosphere]

[High up into the sky, the ring falls out of Tails' hand and flies off... only to be grabbed by Knuckles. He quickly tosses the ring, grabs his friends and dives in, back to Earth, back to safety.]

[Scene change: Eclipse Cannon bridge]

Eggman: So... I guess there's only one thing left to say. [he does his iconic robot move for one last time] It's been a real drag! [whispers] Thanks for nothing.

[The Eclipse Cannon fully explodes, seemingly killing both Shadow and Eggman.]

[Scene change: Earth]

[The Ring portal transfers Team Sonic into a cornfield. Tails coughs and wakes up, while the others also regain consciousness.]

Tails: Sonic, look.

[They look and saw the explosion up in the sky.]

Tails: Shadow and Robotnik. They sacrificed themselves to save everyone.

Sonic: You always have a choice. Guys, I'm really sorry for running off like that. I shouldn't have left you behind. The truth is... you're the best teammates a hedgehog could ever ask for, and the best friends. Can you ever forgive me?

[Knuckles ponders for a moment before raising his fist up for a fist-bump.]

Knuckles: Team Sonic?

[Sonic smiles and hugs Knuckles instead.]

Sonic: How about just "Team"?

[They all hug together.]

[Scene change: Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, London]

Stone: Goodbye, doctor.

[Stone walks away as the film fades to black.]

[Scene change: Campsite]

[Fade open back in Green Hills, Montana, where Sonic makes a huge sandwich out of several treats, stacking it with ice cream, marshmallows and chocolate.]

Sonic: Big finish.

[Sonic finishes the sandwich with chocolate bars holding the top cracker. Knuckles squishes the sandwich down to size with his fists.]

Sonic: Now that's what I call teamwork.

Tails: Okay, it's ready!

[Tails turns back, only to see Sonic and Knuckles eating the sandwich already. They both look up for a minute embarrassed.]

Sonic: Knuckles, how could you?!

Tails: Gotta be faster than that!

[A still alive Tom steps out of the tent, though his arm is in a cast.]

Tom: Give me a break. Still a little slow over here.

Sonic: Donut Lord!

Knuckles: Ha ha!

Tails: Yay!

[They all hug, though it hurts Tom's arm a bit.]

Tom: [groans in pain] Okay, Knuckles.

Knuckles: I'm having the love.

Ozzy: [proceeds to bark as subtitles translate him] "I want the love!"

Sonic: Get in here, Ozzy.

[Ozzy joins in on the group hug.]

Tails: It's great to be back together.

Knuckles: We're stronger than ever.

Sonic: And nothing's gonna stand in our way... except that one piece of unfinished business.

[Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails proceed to finish their race from the beginning of the film.]

Sonic: And way up in front to the surprise of absolutely no one, it's the Blue Blur. Often imitated, never duplicated. The one, the only...

[Suddenly, Knuckles punches through a tree and runs up front.]

Knuckles: Let's do this!

[Then, Tails flies up with his new jetpack.]

Tails: Yeah!

[Sonic catches up with his friends.]

Sonic: Alright, boys. Try and keep up!

[The trio jump up and speed off into the horizon. The film's logo from the beginning of the movie is shown once more and we see one final scene before the credits, before going to the credits as "Run It" by Jelly Roll plays on the background.]

[Scene change: New York State Park, night]

[Sonic is seen running alone.]

Sonic: Sonic the Hedgehog is family champion once again! [looks around for Tails and Knuckles] Tails? Knuckles?

[He then turns around to find a sign reading "WELCOME - NEW YORK STATE PARK - WE'RE GLAD YOU'RE HERE!".]

Sonic: Okay. Yeah, I overshot the finish line.

[Suddenly, a flash of lightning zaps behind him without being noticed. From the spot is a metal blue hedgehog robot, Metal Sonic. He starts to activate as his eyes glow red, and he starts approaching Sonic as he contemplates his situation.]

Sonic: Okay, so how do I get back?

[Metal Sonic powers up his blaster and aims at Sonic. Cut outside, an explosion bursts from within the forest. Back in the forest, the area is set on fire, and a piece of the welcome sign falls to the ground. However, Sonic appears behind Metal.]

Sonic: Pro-tip: if you're gonna take a shot at the [snaps his fingers to charge up his fist] fastest creature in the universe...

[He punches Metal back, and he skids before quickly getting up with his head facing the other way.]

Sonic: You better not miss.

[He then turns his head around to face Sonic.]

Sonic: Um, I'm flattered by the cosplay, but you got a few details wrong. I can't blame you, though. [gets in a battle stance] It's hard to copy perfection.

[However, several pairs of glowing red eyes appear in the forest. An army of Metal Sonic clones step out and surround Sonic.]

Sonic: That's a new trick.

[The circular depressions on their chests glow and the robots all jump in the air to attack. Suddenly, a pink blur flies by and hits them. A red-and-yellow hammer flies up in the air. A hooded figure jumps in to grab it while posing in front of the broken moon. The figure flies down to destroy the last robot as Sonic watches in shock and awe.]

Sonic: What? Who are you?

[The figure hoists their hammer over their shoulder for a moment and removes their hood to reveal a female pink hedgehog, Amy Rose! She smiles confidently, then the screen cuts to black as the rest of the credits roll.]

[Scene change: Earth]

[In an unknown crater, the camera zooms to reveal one of Shadow's limiter rings. Survived and still alive, Shadow steps into frame with his shoes only being visible as he picks up the ring, while a triumphant rendition of "Live and Learn" plays. Cut to black.]
