The following is a list of scenes, dialogue, and other details that were present in trailers or deleted/alternate scenes for the film Sonic the Hedgehog 3 that are not in the final release.
Early drafts[]
In early version of movie, Eggman and Stone were supposed to be hiding in Mexico, but it was changed to Tokyo to "keep tighter story pacing".[1]
In a deleted scene, Gerald would have been shown licking on one of Shadow's quills, with the quill being responsible for rejuvinating him and de-aging Gerald, acting as the reason for why he managed to live to 110.
Amy Rose was initially planned to be a major character in the film, but it was decided that there wasn't time in the film to introduce her alongside Shadow's story without doing one a disservice.[2]
Deleted scenes[]
All of these scenes were completely cut out of the final film.

G.U.N. Selfie[]
When G.U.N. arrives at Chao Garden after the Badniks attacked, one soldier spots Team Sonic and orders the trio to stop, causing them to put their hands up. However, the soldier lowers his gun saying that his kids love Chao, and asks if he can get a selfie. He takes selfie of himself with them, and then leaves.
Stone saves Ivo[]
After Super Sonic destroyed the Giant Eggman Robot from the Master Emerald incident, Robotnik is revealed to have survived, although unconscious and with heavily severe injuries. Stone finds him and brings him to safety (which may explain why G.U.N. couldn't find him in the debris), where he ends up spoon-feeding a completely-bandaged Ivo in a hospital bed. Robotnik also explained to Team Sonic that his evil-doing days are over and he's now just a simple streamer (which some later deleted scenes feature a live stream by him, always sponsored by the energy drink "Berserk").
Ivo and Gerald Bonding[]
After Ivo fell off the bike, it is revealed that he injured his knee and is crying loudly, much Gerald's annoyance. He pulls out a patch, but instead of putting it on Ivo's knee to cover the injury, he puts it on his mouth, which immediately stops him. Later, during camp, Gerald gives Ivo a badge that says "#1 BEST GRANDSON", and Ivo looks at it, only for Gerald to make him look up by flicking him with his finger. In revenge, Ivo knees his grandfather in the groin, making the latter scream in pain. It is later night time and Gerald is reading a bedtime story to Ivo, who is naturally terrified. Gerald closes the book, and turns the lamps off. Suddenly, Gerald jump-scares his grandson with a monster mask, making him scream in horror.
Ivo Live Stream 1[]
When Team Robotnik arrives at London, Ivo begins live streaming introducing himself as Huevo Diablo (which in English is "Devil's Egg"), and Gerald as his "long-lost grumpy grandpappy". Ivo then suggests him to say something to the viewers, and Gerald was confused to who he is talking to. Ivo reveals that he's talking to "eggheads", and Gerald walks away disgruntled. While he does so, Ivo poses himself for the viewers and hopes that they can deal with his "rizz". As Stone was spamming hearts, he saw that Ivo reached 10,000 followers, telling Ivo about this milestone. Ivo then announces the said news, and begins monetizing by sponsoring the Berserk energy drink.
Ivo and Gerald Hide[]
When the Robotniks walk in the G.U.N. Headquarters hallway, they hear that the elevator arrived, and they quickly hide in the flags, becoming invisible thanks to their bodysuits. Two G.U.N. soldiers walk out, not noticing anything weird about flags. When the soldiers walk away, they come out from the flags, and Ivo remarks that it's wonderful and that as a child he didn't received any guidance at all, meaning no training or teamwork. Gerald sarcastically says that it's touching, and tells Ivo to save it for one-man show, and proceeds to walk away. Ivo didn't understood the sarcasm, thinking Gerald was sincere, but says that it was a great idea, thinking he’s beginning to be seen, and proceeds to follow Gerald.
Gerald Claps Back[]
After the Robotniks finish dancing, Ivo complements his grandfather, and the latter complements back. As Ivo reads the comment section, the viewers are all complementing the Robotniks, except one user named zitsbpoppin, who replies that the Museum of Ancient History called and want their fossil back, to which Ivo says that it's about Gerald. Gerald then snaps at the user, and roasts them by saying that if he's a fossil, then his mother is a paleontologist because she "digs" him, finally saying that the user will live in her basement until they are 45. Ivo then suggests Gerald that they leave before they get flagged, to which Gerald agrees as they both leave.
Ivo Live Stream 2[]
Gerald announces to Shadow and Ivo that the Eclipse Cannon has successfully established tactical position in the Earth's orbit. Ivo then tells Gerald that they're getting "hella popular" and proceeds to stream again, greeting his viewers and sponsoring the Berserk energy drink (along with an abundance of silly effects), saying that a single sip of the drink will cause the viewer to rack up kills in Fortnite and that they would try to turn the control on themselves, having to be treated for "post traumatic Smurf disorder". Agent Stone confusingly views the stream as Ivo drinks Berserk, putting the can on his head. Gerald comes in front of him and threatens the viewers, saying that they’re gonna need something to face the impending wrath of the Eclipse Cannon as said weapon sets up. Gerald walks away, while Ivo looks at camera and says "Spoiler alert".

- In a TV spot, there is a line where Shadow says "Sonic the Hedgehog... There is only room for one of us on this planet." However, this line was cut from the film entirely.
- In a TV spot, there is a line where Knuckles says "Cringe." This line was never used in the film, and it was most likely only used for promotional material.
- In the August trailer, Commander Walters saying "There's been a high level security breach, and we need Team Sonic's immediate assistance. Project Shadow is far beyond anything we ever encountered" was completely removed from the film.
- In the November trailer, Knuckles saying "What is this den of madness?!" was replaced with "It's an ambush! You'll never take us alive, foul beasts!"

August 2024 trailer[]
- When Team Sonic, the Tokyo color grading is orange whereas in the movie itself is more blue-ish.
- When the Eclipse Cannon rises from the River Thames, it got red lines already, yet however, in the final version, it was removed.
- When Shadow is escaping the Prison Island, he's in almost full darkness. However, in final version, he's more brighter.
- The shot where Sonic is looking at Tails with fists clenches was completely cut from the movie.
- When the Crab mech was rising from the water, it didn't had any water on it, yet in the final version, the water was added.
- Dr. Robotnik's screen is completely different from the final version where he watches La Última Pasión.
- When Ivo plays congas on his big fat belly, screen is completely different from the final version where he plays the song-time.
- The screens at left side (when Ivo sees Stone with Team Sonic) are just mirror, whereas in the final version they're active all the time.
- Different take of Ivo pulling cloak off himself was used in the movie.
- When Ivo rips shirt off Stone, the closeup to the former was removed in the final version, and Ivo saying "I need room" is different in final version.
- When Ivo and Sonic stepping out from the Ring, it's slower than in the final version.
- Shadow's iconic punch happens faster in the movie than in trailer.
- Shot where Sonic says "What did you do?" is almost completely different:
- Sonic doesn't say "What did you do?" but instead "Where is it?"
- The Chaos energy of both Sonic and Knuckles was removed.
- When Ivo hugs Gerald, different take was used for the movie.
November 2024[]
Comparison between the scene in the trailer and in the film.
- When Sonic clenches his fists outside G.U.N. HQ, the color grading is orange-ish, however, in the final version it's blue-ish.
- When Shadow blocked Sonic's attack, they are seen in their base forms. In the final version, they are instead seen in their Super forms. This was possibly done to hide the surprise.
