Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ムービー[1] Sonikku za Mūbī?, lit. "Sonic the Movie"), sometimes referred to as the Sonic Film Universe,[2] Sonic Cinematic Universe[3] or the Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog,[4] is an American CGI/live-action film series produced by Paramount Pictures that is based on the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. It features animation from Sega's Marza Animation Planet along with the production company Blur Studio.

- Sonic the Hedgehog: The Adventures of Sonic & Donut Lord is a short comic that basically retells the events of Sonic the Hedgehog. It was released on 19 May 2020 as a gift included with the steelbook release of the film.
- Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill is a one-shot comic book by IDW Publishing that serves as a prequel to the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film. It was released on 30 March 2022.[8]

- Around the World in 80 Seconds is a short film that takes place after the events of the first Sonic the Hedgehog film. It features Sonic exploring many places on Earth within eighty seconds. It was released as an extra with the digital release of the film on 30 March 2020.
- Sonic Drone Home is an animated short film that takes place after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It features Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles dealing with one of Robotnik's Badniks trying to upgrade itself at the junkyard. It was released as an extra with the digital release of the film on 24 May 2022.[9]

- The film series has been called the "Sonic Cinematic Universe" on numerous occasions. It was first coined by director Jeff Fowler in a USA Today interview.[11]
- Paul Scheer, an actor for Knuckles, abbreviated the term as "SCU."[12]
