Sonic the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is the alternate reality counterpart of Prime zone counterpart from the In Another Time, In Another Place Zone. Known for his speed and color, Sonic was the fastest thing in the universe, as he self-proclaimed towards himself.

Appearance[]

Sonic is a slim hedgehog with blue fur that covered most of his body, peach skin that covers his arms, inner ears, muzzle and front torso, and green eyes. He had small, triangular ears on top of his head, a black nose on his muzzle, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short pointy tail.

For attire, Sonic wore two light-weight, hyper friction-resistant red sneakers with white cuffs around the ankles, gray soles, white straps across the top, and a gold buckle each; and a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs.

History[]

Sonic the Hedgehog CD[]

In the past, Sonic learned that Little Planet had been taken over by Dr. Eggman. As such, he headed to save the planet, while he was there, he also met Amy Rose. Soon after, however, Amy was kidnapped by Metal Sonic, a lethal Badnik identical to Sonic created by Eggman to defeat and rival Sonic. The hedgehog would then reach the Stardust Speedway, where he raced against Metal Sonic. After defeating the robot, he rescued Amy .[1]

Sonic Generations (as Classic Sonic)[]

While in a white void known as the White Space, Sonic saw his modern counterpart run through a portal that lead to the Green Hill Zone.

Sonic Unleashed[]

In space, Sonic, transformed into Super Sonic, cornered Dr. Eggman while inside the doctor's space armada. As Eggman seemingly admitted defeat, Sonic walked away, only for Eggman to activate a machine that drained him of his Super State. While the doctor used the power of the Chaos Emeralds to shatter the world, Sonic transformed into a Werehog. Eggman, shocked at this, sent Sonic and the drained Chaos Emeralds plummeting down to the planet below. There, Sonic woke up on the outskirts of Windmill Isle and found the drained Chaos Emeralds as the sun rose up, returning him back to his normal self. Curious to know what just happened, Sonic set off to a new adventure.[2]

While preoccupied with his chili dogs, Sonic was summoned by the wizard Merlina to an Arthurian world as King Arthur and his Knights of the Underworld surrounded the young wizard. Sonic quickly engaged the foes, but Merlina held him back as he tried to take on Arthur and the two vanished so Merlina could prepare Sonic for his next adventure in the World of Camelot.[3]

Sonic Colors[]

As Sonic and Tails entered Eggman's Incredible Interstellar Amusement Park, they tried to decide where to go first, as they suspected Eggman was up to something. Suddenly, they saw Orbot, Cubot and Egg Pawns chasing down strange aliens. As Sonic saved the aliens, he received the power of a cyan alien which he used to destroy the Egg Pawns, making Orbot and Cubot flee the scene. Using Tails' handheld as an alien language translator for one of the aliens, Sonic and Tails learned that the aliens were being kidnapped by Eggman to be used as fuel. Sonic, along with Tails and the Wisps, thus set off to save the aliens and the captured planets.[4]

Later on, Sonic met Tails and many of his other friends surprising him with a birthday party. Sonic was then enjoying his birthday party with his friends, until the Time Eater showed up through a giant hole in the sky and kidnapped Sonic's friends using Time Holes. Unhappy, Sonic tried to attack the mysterious monster, but got knocked unconscious with a single swipe from it. Sonic later woke up in a white void known as White Space where he found a portal to the Green Hill Zone, which he entered, unaware that a past version of himself was watching.[5]

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II[]

Following a series of untold events, Sonic found himself onboard the E.G.G. Station, where he had a final showdown against Dr. Eggman in the Egg Destroyer Battlesuit. After the doctor was defeated, a chain reaction was triggered, causing the space station to be destroyed. Escaping, Sonic used a rocket provided by Tails and returned home to find the fox cub who revealed that Little Planet was making its annual return. As Sonic was reminiscing his last adventure there, the animals informed him and Tails that Eggman was up to his old tricks again, so the duo set off on a brand new journey on the Tornado.[1]

With the arrival of the Olympic Games, Sonic and his friends got ready to participate. Meeting with Tails in the coliseum, Sonic got side-tracked by the Olympic ring banner until Tails brought back his focus. Unbeknownst to them, Dr. Eggman, along with Orbot and Cubot, had planted traps that caught all of Sonic's friends so Eggman could win the Olympic glory. As Sonic, Shadow and Tails trained for the long jump event, Tails got cornered by Caterkillers. Sonic and Shadow destroyed the robots, but Shadow and Tails got captured.[6]

Making an appearance, Eggman gloated about his victory to Sonic. Goading the doctor, Sonic reminded Eggman that he was still here to kick his butt in the Olympics. However, Eggman had Metal Sonic compete in his stead. After several events, the two competitors were down to the 100 meter dash. Initially too tired to compete, Sonic harnessed the power of the Olympics to re-energize himself and beat Metal Sonic to the Prison Egg, releasing his friends while Eggman and his goons fled. Tails asked Sonic if he was going to rest out for the real Olympics, but the hedgehog denied, not wanting to wait for the next.[6]

Powers and abilities[]

Sonic's trademark ability was his super-speed. In addition, he was shown to be a very powerful fighter, being capable of destroying the Egg Destroyer Battlesuit on his own.[1]

By harnessing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds, Sonic could transform into Super Sonic. In this state, Sonic was much stronger and faster than in his normal form.[2]

Werehog[]

By unknown means, Sonic could once turn into the Werehog. His abilities in this state are unknown.[2]

Cyan Laser[]

By harnessing the energy of a Cyan Wisp, Sonic could turn into the Cyan Laser. In this state, he could turn into a laser that could blast through multiple robots without effort.
