Sonic the Hedgehog Chapter 2 is a story in the Sonic the Hedgehog manga published by Shogakukan. It was released in the October 1992 issue of the Bessatsu CoroCoro Comic Special magazine.

Synopsis[]
In summer, the fifthteen Hedgehog Festival is being celebrated all across Hedgehog Town. Nicky and his girlfriend, Amy, go to the festival, with Nicky saying that he is going to sign up for the band competition with his violin. Suddenly however, a very loud noise is heard, stunning the two. The noise is revealed to have been made by Anton Veruca, who is participating in the competition as well with his companions. When he finishes his performance, he scores a 10 from the less-than-happy audience. However, he notices that Nicky has cowardly given him a 0 as a score. Then, it is Nicky's turn to perform, with Anton saying that, if he loses, the lizard will date Amy. However, Nicky's poor singing and playing abilities make a very painful sound that stuns everyone around. Then, Veruca gives Nicky a firework rocket, which he believes is a microphone. Nicky is fooled, and is soon after flown away by the rocket, lamenting that he cannot do anything right.
Back on the stage, however, Sonic the Hedgehog appears with an electric guitar, for the surprise of everyone, specially Anton's. He gives a fantastic performance, with everyone cheering him on. Veruca, though, breaks the nearby speaker to ruin the performance. However, Sonic plugs the wires into Anton's ears, turning him into a speaker himself. Suddenly however, Dr. Eggman, piloting a huge robot resembling an echidna, attacks Sonic by surprise. Sonic attempts to attack the mech with a Rolling Attack, but Eggman says that he has built his creation out of a material that is hard enough to withstand his attacks. Sonic, however, lures Eggman into various microphones and wires, causing his vehicle to get entangled, and thus unable to attack. Sonic then uses a Rolling Double Hurricane and a Hammer Shot to throw Eggman and his mech over some firework cannons and launch him away. With the launch, various fireworks are seen in the sky, with Amy being delighted by the event as a confused Nicky regains his consciousness next to her.

Trivia[]
- In this story, Eggman's vehicle is stylized like an echidna. Coincidentally, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, released a year later, sees him teaming up with Knuckles, an echidna.
- On the cover of this story, Amy is seen playing with maracas. Coincidentally, in the Sound Test of Sonic Advance, released nine years later, she is seen playing with maracas.
