Sonic the Hedgehog: Spring Broken! is an one-shot comic book special, published by IDW Publishing. The special is themed around spring and serves as a spin-off of the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Sonic and Tails are entering the Spring Flower Festival and Tails tells sonic how excited he is for all the rides. Sonic adds on to Tails excitement by saying how he has not stopped talking about it which Sonic says how he is hungry but thinks it will be better to ride rides first then eat. Tails then gets cotton candy while Sonic points out that everyone is here which Tails tells Sonic about an event that takes place at the festival which Amy steps in and tells him about the Annual Flower Frolic Competition and how last year's winner's flowers were the most gorgeous sunflowers ever. Amy further explains how they take the event very seriously when Silver walks over to them and says how he is not here for the prize but just for people to recognize his hard work. Amy then tells Silver how he has a good chance at winning until Rough and Tumble hear them and doubt him which Sonic mentions how Amy has competition till she confirms that she is judging with Nite the Owl and will broadcast it live on his radio station K-TBR 199.2. Jewel and Espio walk over when Tails points out how Jewel is more of a Geologist with her saying that's the whole point, saying how the winner gets the gemstone and would fit perfect in her Mineral Museum. Shortly the competition starts with Amy and Nite introducing themselves and presenting the participants once they call Silver Tails mentions how he has been working on it all year but his plant catches on fire to which Sonic ask the question on who could have done this.
Tumble laughs to himself when Silver uses his Psychokinesis to grab the fire extinguisher and put it out, Sonic tries to cheer Silver up by meanwhile Tails tries to figure out who sabotaged the event till Vector shows up and wants to help him so he can possibly get a radio promo for the Chaotix Detective Agency. Tails and Sonic agree and start their search by searching the pant itself, Vector starts by asking the other participants about Silver's flowers, Espio claims he plays fair and Rough claims better luck next time which the Sonic ask vector why he is questioning him. Then Vector questions Don which he says he had a book of matches in his toolbox but somehow, they disappeared then Silver make the claim it was him saying ow he sabotaged his own flowers. Silver says the flower had died right before he got there and thought it might be infected so he decided to take care of it anyway and pretended not to know so he could find the culprit and apologies of his actions.
Vector then closes the case until Tails still begs the question of what would make flower up and just die? Vector then finds soil but realizes it isn't soil at all but is actually herbicide. Silver then confirms that the soil was a plant killer and noticed someone added fresh soil to the pot, until Vector notices the suspect running away which Sonic runs after him until Vector challenges him to get to him first but Sonic responds saying how well see about that. Sonic then calls out a problem saying hoe there are too many people and could be anyone, this leads Vector then decides to talk to Big the Cat and explains how he was looking for Froggy but was pushed out the way and saying how the suspect damaged the carousel, crashed into the dunk tank and knocked over snacks. Tails wishes he brought his pad so he can pick up more clues till sonic cheers him up saying how they will figure this out, Vector then decide to split up which they then go around helping people recover rides at the festival. Sonic first helps clean up while Tails helps restore the carousal, Vector uses his Bubblegum Gum to keep the dunk tank sealed meanwhile Sonic sees the culprit but before he could run after him, but he is stopped by a little girl who ask him for a ballon to which sonic promises it. Tails wonders if he can get a better vantage point by flying until Tails sees the culprit which is Charmy. vector is in shock by Charmy actions until he explains he was trying to help Silver and did not know it was a plant killer with him apologizing for his actions. later back at the main stage Tails points out that Charmy's mistake was too innocent until Sonic notices that the labels are swapped, and his hand is sticky which the true culprit was revealed to be Rough. Sonic acts like this is no surprise saying how Rough switched the labels than Charmy put them in Silver's plant causing it to be on fire. Rough admits it and saying how he would have sabotaged everyone's before it caught on fire, rough tries to escape until Sonic stops him, Nite then question how he will make up for it and he would be taking a Dunk by Silver which Nite announces the winner to be Espio. Espio then decides to donate the gemstone to the Mineral Museum, shortly after sonic and Tails got to ride some rides.

- This issue was originally set for release on 24 April 2024, but was delayed to 8 May 2024, 5 June 2024, and then re-delayed to 26 June 2024.
- In one of the panels, a character similar in appearance to Uncle Chuck can be seen.
- On page 21, an error is shown with Vector's right glove being miscolored as dark green, instead of white. Additionally, Tails' shoes are also miscolored.
