Sonic the Hedgehog - "Enter Knuckles, Part 2"

Sonic and Tails have tracked Doctor Robotnik to the mysterious Floating Island, hoping to fnd the evil dictator vulnerable and alone. Instead, they find him protected by Knuckles the Echidna, the Island's powerful guardian.

Sonic wakes up after being temporarily concussed by Knuckles, only for Robotnik to suddenly accuse him of wanting to steal the Floating Island Chaos Emeralds. Sonic is understandably confused - he doesn't want to steal any Chaos Emeralds, and in any case already has some! Robotnik quickly twists Sonic's words around, claiming to Knuckles that Sonic previously stole his Chaos Emeralds and now wants Knuckles' as well. Robotnik claims to be a "humble servant of my people", and that all the people of Mobius live in fear of the vile creature, Sonic. Knuckles attacks Sonic again. Although Sonic realizes that Knuckles has been tricked and is probably a really nice guy, he isn't about to let that sucker punch slide, and knocks Knuckles back.

Tails flies away, with his own job to do, while Sonic and Knuckles really get to fighting. Sonic is fast enough to dodge Knuckles' punches, but not the tremors caused when Knuckles slams the ground. In retaliation, Sonic spins a tornado around Knuckles, increasing the pressure until he shoots upwards. When he lands, Knuckles immediately burrows underground, and Sonic follows. The ground rumbles under foot, as Robotnik gleefully believes Knuckles has the advantage underground. The tyrant claims that convincing Knuckles that Sonic is a bad guy was a stroke of genius.

Suddenly, Knuckles flies out of the ground, apparently beaten and nearly defeated by Sonic. He's quickly on his feet, and though both are a little worse for wear, neither has any intention of giving up!

Tails flies by in the Tornado and scoops up Robotnik in a giant net. Knuckles thinks Tails will bring Robotnik back if Knuckles catches Sonic, but it's no good: even though Knuckles is nearly Sonic's match in a fight, when it comes to speed he isn't even close. Sonic jumps onto the Tornado's wing, and they fly back home, with Robotnik suspended beneath them, still ranting.

Tails asks if Sonic could have beaten Knuckles, to which Sonic replies he could have done so easily... but to himself, he confesses the truth. Knuckles was really tough although gaining the upper hand, and Sonic is sure they haven't seen the last of him.

  • The Floating Island Chaos Emeralds were previously mentioned in Sonic the Summer Special (1994), "Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds", which also set up Robotnik's deception that Sonic wanted to steal them.
  • Tails recovers the Tornado, which he and Sonic used in order to reach the Floating Island in the previous issue.
  • Sonic and Tails capture Robotnik in this issue. He is locked up in their secret base in the following issue.

Mutant League - "Bring Me The Head of Coach Brikka, Part 4"

  • Script: Steve White / Brian Williamson
  • Art: Anthony Williams / Brian Williamson
  • Lettering: Tom Frame

The Midway Monsters (Bones Jackson, Brenda Brikka, Grim, and Razor Kid) are still chasing Coach Brikka's head (stolen by K.T. Slayer). Suddenly, 4 feet of snow lands on the ground around them, signalling the start of the Winter Olympics. They steal a snowmobile from some competitors, only to find that they're in the Freestyle Clay Bobsleigh Shooting competition, and people start firing at them when they fly off a skijump. They land on two ice dancers, crushing them, and they catch up to K.T. Slayer. They tackle K.T., but Coach Brikka's head bounces across the snow and is found by Zalgor Prigg and his cronies.

  • In the original print run of this issue, pages 2 and 3 of Mutant League were transposed.

Sonic's World - "No More Mr. Nice Bug, Part 3"

Cam 'n' Bert, search and repair operatives for B.A.R.F. (Badnik Army Repair Functionaries), are attacked by the two niceniks, Bim and Bom. They fend them off with their repair tools, and the two niceniks retreat. They hide at the bottom of a cliff, but are soon found and destroyed by Bert. The two rabbit organic batteries are released, but quickly caught and tied up by Bert.

Cam and Bert rebuild the badniks, but only have enough working part for a single bizarre creature. There's only enough room for one organic battery, but they shove both rabbits into the machine anyway. They remove all of the nicenik tendencies and send their "repaired" badnik out on patroll, satisfied in another job well done. As they fly off, Cam comments that the nicenik computer virus might have spread like a plague if they hadn't stopped it... at which point a nearby Moto Bug takes a sniff of a lovely flower...

Decap Attack - "Who Killed Chuck! Part 1"

  • Script: Nigel Kitching
  • Art: Nigel Kitching
  • Lettering: Steve Potter

Chuck D. Head and Igor are fighting, while Head tries to make peace. Igor wants Chuck to see the Professor in the lab, but the last time Chuck was there the Professor shot two thousand volts through him. They fall down a pit, and only Chuck and Head grab hold of a cable to stop falling: Igor lands heavily in the Professor's lab. Nevertheless, the cable soon snaps, and Chuck and Head follow - landing on top of Igor.

The Professor wants to fix a mistake he made when resurrecting Chuck. He had to chop up the dead brain and put it in two craniums (Chuck and Head) because it wouldn't fit. Now he has a shrinking machine, so he wants to remove the two halves, glue them together and shrink them so they do fit. He gets out his chainsaw.

Just then, Igor answers the door, where Detective Case has come to investigate reports of a missing person...
