Sonic the Hedgehog - "Metamorphia"[]
- Script: Lew Stringer
- Art: Mike Hadley, John M. Burns
- Lettering: Ellie de'Ville
Synopsis[]
In the Emerald Hill Zone, Sonic, Tails and Amy rescue a group of citizens from one of Doctor Robotnik's egg capsules. Amy tries to ask Sonic out for a cola, but he's not interested. Suddenly, a female bear calls to Sonic for help. She says that her home Zone is being terrorized by a monster. Sonic is willing to help. Amy is suspicious, as is Tails, but Sonic brushes off their concern as jealousy and runs off alone to fight the monster.
The young bear's home is a deserted and dilapidated town without sunlight and with fire instead of rivers. Before Sonic can inquire why the girl lives in such a terrible place, he is attacked by Troopers, which he easily destroys. He asks where the monster is, only for the girl herself to transform into one! She reveals her name as Metamorphia, and explains that she can mutate into any form she likes. Before Sonic even has a chance to fight back, she transforms into a knockout gas and he falls unconscious. Metamorphia calls in her success to Doctor Robotnik, who wants Sonic imprisoned until Robotnik can take his final revenge in person.
Sonic wakes up inside a floating prison cell, but when he tries to break out he ends up rebounding off the walls. Metamorphia explains that he is in a Retro Block, and that any force he tries to use to escape is reversed back on him. Realising this, Sonic takes a break, expending no energy to escape, and the Retro Block bursts!
Metamorphia turns into a rocket and escapes, and even Sonic is unable to keep up. He spots Tails, who insists that Sonic should "button it" and let him help. He says that he saw a rocket turn into a thistle by a cliff, so Sonic dutifully bends over to have a look. Just as "Tails" is about to kick Sonic over and into the fire below, Sonic ducks out of the way! He knew it was Metamorphia all along, because Tails was never that impudent. Metamorphia's two tails can't help her fly, and she plummets into the flames far below. Sonic returns home to Amy and the real Tails.
Some time later, Metamorphia emerges from the fire, having assumed a fireproof form. She vows to keep chasing Sonic.

The ship explodes, although most of the passengers survive clinging to bits of debris. Skates stands over Mr X with a gun. Axel and Blaze plead with him not to shoot and even Mr X begs for his life. Skates decides not to fire, commenting that he must be going soft.
Back on dry land, Mr X and fifty corrupt police officers are arrested, after Skates gives a backup copy of Murphy's disk to the district attorney. He laughs at the idea of becoming a cop in such a rotten city, but when Max, Axel and Blaze ask for his help, he says he'll help them out. They can find him on the streets.

- Art: Casanovas/John M. Burns
- Lettering: Elitta Fell
Synopsis[]
Tails comes face-to-face with Prince Catalus, the goblin who kidnapped Jimmy and Jilly. But Jimmy and Jilly seem quite happy with the way they're being treated (apparently oblivious to the bones and rats and generally squalid conditions of the tent they are living in). After all, Catalus lets them drink as much lemonade as they like and even lets them play with his sword! Jimmy and Jilly explain that Catalus is bringing them to Castle Morbidden so that they can play hide and seek with Queen Vulpecula Huntar, but that Catalus wants to play a trick on his sister the Queen by hiding the foxes so she'll never find them. Jimmy and Jilly think this is great fun and convince Tails to go along with it.
They fly to Castle Morbidden in a Goblin Flying Ship. Just before they meet the Queen, Catalus reveals that she likes to refer to hide and seek as "fox hunting". The Queen demands that they run away, and then chases them through the castle's dank corridors with a monstrous mount and a savage-looking sword. They run as fast as they can, but soon they hit a dead end, and the Queen has them cornered...
