Unused text[]
Early Subtitles[]
Classic Sonic's subtitles for rescuing Knuckles has a leftover early version of Modern Sonic's line from his dialogue of the Knuckles rescue cutscene. This variant is missing the "Alright!" at the end of the sentence, which was changed in the final game.
- Sonic : Ha! Get in line, Knuckle-head.
30 Second Trial[]
While the 30 Second Trial was removed in this version of the game, the text strings for it still exist within the English files of the Title.arl file in the Network.fco. Opening the text for it in however does not work though as the English files for it does not appear to be translated correctly. Even so, these might've been just simple leftovers anyways and can be loaded in the original version.

- 30Sec: See how far you can go in 30 seconds! A Goal Post will be planted where you stopped!
- Waytoplay_XBOX: Challenge the stage records set by players around the world on Xbox LIVE. Try the 30 second challenge too!
Network and Ranking[]
- Err_PS3: Disconnected from PlayStation Network. You will be unable to view leaderboards or play Ranking Attack or 30 Second Trial game modes.
- Err_XBOX: Disconnected from XBOX LIVE during the challenge. This record will not be reflected in the rankings

- Icon_XBOX: Your gamer picture is not set up. A picture of Sonic will be used to identify your Goal Post. Press

- Pause: If you continue, you can search the stage for your Friends' Goal Posts. You may quit a stage at any time from the Pause Menu.

Unused logos[]
Two logos pertaining Sonic Battle and Sonic Rush can be found within the game's files, both in higher quality from the original. Sonic Rush's logo (which would pertain the song "Right There, Ride On") goes unused due to licensing and was replaced with Westopolis from Shadow the Hedgehog. They can be found both in English and Japanese.
Unused model[]
The 30 Second Trial mode was removed in this version of the game. However, the model of the Goal Plate (along with it unused broken varients) still exist within the game's files.
