Featured Articles are articles that have been recognized as the best on Sonic Wiki Zone. After the community chooses an article, the Featured Article should be tagged using Template:FA, which places an icon in the top right of the page.

Process

A post will be made on the Discussions Board the last week of every month to take suggestions for the Featured Article of the upcoming month. In the post, users will reach a consensus on what article should be featured. If no suggestions are made, or a consensus is not reached by the beginning of the next month, an Admin will select the Featured Article.

Criteria

The Featured Articles should follow the following rules:

  1. It must have been written primarily by Sonic Wiki Zone users, and not copied directly from other sites, such as Wikipedia or Mobius Encyclopaedia.
  2. It must be factually correct, with no false information, and it must have sufficient references to verify its accuracy.
  3. It must be at least a few paragraphs in length.
  4. It can not have the same topic or article type as the previous month's Featured Article.
  5. Preferably, the article should coincide an anniversary, new release, or event for the month it is featured (not required).
  6. If an article has already been a Featured Article, it cannot be chosen again.

In addition, articles that have been significantly changed or merged with other articles can not be a Featured Article anymore. If an article with featured status gets a maintenance category (such as {{Rewrite}} or {{Update}}), its status can be suspended until the issue is resolved. Users can also challenge if an article should keep its Featured Article status. These challenges should be done in a post on the Discussions Board.

Sonic Adventure is a video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It is the first Sonic game on a sixth generation console. Initially released in late 1998 in Japan for the Dreamcast, it was the first mainline 3D title in the series.

As the first mainline 3D game in the series, Adventure brings the 2D platforming mechanics of its predecessors into a three-dimensional world. Players can choose from six distinct characters, each with their unique style: Sonic, featuring traditional high-speed platforming; Tails, who introduces racing elements; Knuckles, focusing on treasure hunting; Amy, incorporating stealth-based missions; Gamma, offering a shoot 'em up experience; and Big, centered around fishing. The game's narrative revolves around Chaos, an ancient deity of destruction unleashed by Doctor Eggman to further his own nefarious plans.

As the first 3D Sonic game, Sonic Adventure was highly anticipated and received critical acclaim upon release. It was praised for its visuals, presentation, and gameplay, but criticized for its voice direction and glitches. The game sold over 1.27 million copies in the United States alone, making it the top selling Dreamcast game.
