Title card for each segment

Sonic Says (also known as Sonic Sez) is a series of segments that are seen in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series, sometimes in relation to the episode's subject matter. The purpose of Sonic Says is to teach children about various things as a form of public service, with topics such as safety, self-care, and simple "dos" and "don'ts", among others. Such PSAs in kids' cartoons were common at the time, as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) demanded all children's programs to have a certain amount of educational content in order to air on TV.

The Sonic Says segments always start out with Tails painting "Sonic Sez" on a big orange sign with blue paint. Then Sonic pops out from a hole in the center of the sign, looks at the spelling, angrily grabs the brush from Tails' hand and corrects the misspelled "Sez" to "Says". After that, he gives the audience a thumbs up.

In the game Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, there are tips given to players about racing, controls, or some humor during the loading times. It is the only game that gives tribute to Sonic Says.
