Sonic R is the original soundtrack album for the video game of the same name, and was released on 21 January 1998 in Japan for ¥2310 by Marvelous Entertainment Inc.. All of the tracks were composed by Richard Jacques and the vocal songs were sung by Teresa Jane Davis. Two exclusive remixes are featured at the end of album.
On June 2014, Sega announced a re-release of the album for Amazon and iTunes as a digital download, titled Sonic R (Original Soundtrack).[1] This version features seven exclusive tracks not in the original CD version and a revised track ordering, but it does not include the original two remixed tracks.

Trivia
- The cover shows Sonic's Sonic Adventure redesign (albeit missing the shoe soles), rather than his original design seen in the game.
- The album released almost a year before Sonic's redesign first appeared in a game.
