The Biggest Fan
Tapir encounter

"The Biggest Fan" is the fifty-seventh episode in the Sonic Boom television series. It first aired on 10 December 2016 in the United States and on 8 April 2017 in France. In the episode, Sonic is pestered by Mark the Tapir, who weasels his way into a position as Sonic's assistant. Eventually, Mark crosses the line and captures Sonic and his friends.

The entire episode share many similarities to the Stephen King novel, Misery. During the production of this episode, the staff of Sonic Boom researched more of the general fandom rather than the Sonic fanbase specifically. Mark in particular was designed with the general fan-type character in mind rather than a specific person. Many jokes about the Sonic fandom are made in the episode.

Knuckles complains that Sonic always brings trouble to his island and states that there is nowhere left to run, but Sonic says that he has a plan and asks Knuckles to trust him. Read more...

In the Mystic Ruins, Big relaxes at his house and watches the sunset with Froggy. He states that no matter how many times they have seen it, it was still pretty and asks if Froggy agreed; the frog simply responds with a ribbit, to which Big agrees with. The cat then mentions that he has not seen it in a while as Froggy had led him on a long adventure. First, Froggy led Big all the way to Vista View, where he fished in the sewage system. There, Big met Sonic who was running through and they greeted each other. The hedgehog left as quickly as he came, leaving Big to continue fishing. Read more...

Image Facts
Fiber Obtic Sonicam
The Sonicam is a fiber-optic camera that can give a live signal with a green, monochrome image. It was inserted on Sonic's shoe strap to watch Sonic's movement from Freedom HQ. The cam had a built-in slow motion compensator so the image stayed clear no matter Sonic's speed. It can also track Sonic's speed, velocity, and focus on objects in its field of view. Rotor mentioned it was a delicate device.
