BlueSpeeder (Administrator)

BlueSpeeder (talk): Contributions Edit Count

To be fair, I would have never thought I was going to do this again. Regardless, I have decided to nominate myself for administrator not because for my own reasons but for the greater good of the wiki. You are probably going to hold me back after my poor behavior on this forum, but need I remind you I am a smarter, much maturer user than the BlueSpeeder you saw six months ago. With that out of the way, let's begin:

First off, I would like to state my reasons on the wiki. Other than helping the wiki out by making or editing articles, I also keep in check with the numerous amount of threads on this wiki, helping out a user, answering a question to them, etc. I also check the uncategorized files cache once a month and clean it out. This, however, can be a bit of a pain because I can not delete images, but rather, I must wait for an administrator on chat to return from whatever they were doing for me to send them multiple links of images they need to delete. This can be both a hassle and confusion, but rather, if I was an administrator, I could easily clean up the cache without bothering an administrator.

I'm also online during my free time; if someone needs to contact me, bam! I answer. If someone needs help on a template, bam! I help them. I'm also on the chat just about every time I'm on an actual computer, but, if necessary, I will come onto the chat if needed. I also warn users that are breaking the rules, getting off topic on threads, on chat, etc. I've recently kept my emotions under control on the chat and online.

So, I want to see your opinion on whether I'm ready or if I'm still not ready to be an administrator yet. BlueSpeeder (talk) 21:26, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

  1. I don't see an obstacle. User:MintsyWinterBlue/Signature 21:31, February 1, 2014 (UTC)
  2. I don't think a little incident that occurred 6 months ago is worthy of my attention while determining where I stand with you, especially since I don't hear too much about you in a negative way anyway. And you are a hard worker, dedicated and thorough a lot of the time. I think I'm willing to give you another shot with Administrator privileges. Lloyd the Cat"I don't die. 3. We're definitely open for another administrator, and Blue perfectly fits the bill for it.Mystic Orb (TP.CO.EC) 23:02, February 1, 2014 (UTC)

  1. After last time's little incident, I don't see that I can trust you just yet. --- ~Flare | Talk Page
  2. Other than the amount of admins here, you tend to show off your edits too much and dont really contribute to this wiki other than editing. --KrazyKillertheHater (talk) 16:28, February 2, 2014 (UTC)

Discussion

  • @~Flare: Are you referring to the incident BlueSpeeder cited at the beginning of this nomination? Or something more recent? Care to clarify for me?
@SilverPlays97: I often act silly and spontaneous with everyone around the Wiki, including you. Does that hurt my overall quality as an Administrator? I find a little hyper-ness in one's personality to be hardly much of a reason to detract from their overall potential to be a decent Administrator. If the nominee knows when to take a situation seriously, then I fail to see a problem. Lloyd the Cat"I don't die. I just go on adventures." 22:46, February 1, 2014 (UTC)
    • Flare was referring to this incident I stated above. Oh and yes, while I do act hyper, I know when to be serious, especially on threads. BlueSpeeder (talk) 22:55, February 1, 2014 (UTC)
  • Per Gen. Also, an admin retired not too long ago so I don't see why you think it's a problem for us to have another. The Fresh Prince of Grooseland
  • SilverPlay's reason on "quirky behavior" was shallow. An admin shouldnt be "serious". You kiddos treat it as too big of a deal. Being fun, frank and approachable is far better than being serious and doing what an admin does. Makes the admin bland and boring and no different. Blue's way of talking is just fine, gurl. --KrazyKillertheHater (talk) 16:31, February 2, 2014 (UTC)
    • "An Admin shouldn't be 'serious'. You kiddos treat it as too big of a deal. Being fun, frank and approachable is far better than being serious and doing what an admin does. Makes the admin bland and boring and no different." I disagree; I think an Admin should know full-well when to be serious during any given situation, otherwise they'd be ineffective at doing their jobs. Same goes for any website that has an administration of some kind. I don't mean any disrespect, but you saying that Admins shouldn't be doing their jobs like they should be is a laughable sentiment. I'd rather be a part of a website that has Administrators who are "serious" and "bland and boring and no different" than the exact opposite, since the latter presents the possibility of allowing the sites they supposedly run to be completely chaotic and unorganized due to their more "laid back" nature. I personally think it'd be best of an Admin can still be serious, but also "fun, frank and approachable", which is what I try to be.
Also, I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to us as "kiddos". Not everyone here is of young age (I myself am 21), and I'm sure it'd feel degrading towards a number of us to be referred to in such a manner. Please show your fellow Users more respect. Lloyd the Cat"I don't die. I just go on adventures." 22:29, February 3, 2014 (UTC)
  • @Krazy I have a habit of showing off my edits, but I hope you know that I contribute to more things on this wiki rather than mainspace articles, i.e. threads. But I'm not going to force you to change your opinion. BlueSpeeder (talk) 18:54, February 2, 2014 (UTC)
  • Oh, and I would like to point out something; with the announcement of Sonic Boom, as well as the television series, coming soon, the wiki is going to need more maintenance. And I believe that since I'm online most of the time, I could be the perfect candidate for administrator. Just throwing that out there. BlueSpeeder (talk) 00:05, February 7, 2014 (UTC)
  • I have a question to ask, Blue,: do you still wish to use your bot (sorry for pointing this out) if you were given administrator rights, despite back at that incident 6 months ago, you were caught sockpuppetting with it? (Not saying that I'm opposing of you having a bot.) Mystic Orb (TP.CO.EC) 23:19, February 8, 2014 (UTC)
    • No. I don't have a personal computer not do I know how to manage the bot. I rather do the work myself, since I like to be consist. BlueSpeeder (talk) 02:19, February 9, 2014 (UTC)

Conclusion

Community consensus has supported your nomination, congratulations BlueSpeeder! You have been promoted to administrator. This nomination will be removed shortly. Myself 123 21:28, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
