The Sonic Legacy Series was a series of graphic novels published by Archie Comics. The series contained reprints of stories from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series in black and white, and collected a lot of older and hard-to-get material, from back when the stories in the comics were more light-hearted. According to editor Paul Kaminski, this series was targeted for older audiences by containing more issues in black and white "in order to be competitive in a Marvel/DC graphic novel market."[1] The series was launched in October 2011, and ended after the digital-only release of book 4 in December 2014.
