SonicGramsLogo

The final logo to "Sonic Grams" in the main Sonic the Hedgehog comic series.

Sonic Grams was the official letters column for the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, published by Archie Comics. Appearing regularly throughout the comic’s run, it allowed fans to send in letters with questions, comments, or fan theories, which the comic's creative team would respond to. It also occasionally included info from the staff regarding a character, concept, or event in the particular issue, and was also where readers could usually find the Off Panel humor strips. Additionally, the team would also use Sonic Grams to display fan art that readers could sent in.

Aside from the main series, Archie's other Sonic titles featured variations of Sonic Grams, under different names:

Trivia[]

  • A running gag in the first four issues of both Sonic Universe and Sonic Boom's Off Panels was that at the end, one of the character’s would refer to Sonic Grams for viewers to submit fan-art and fan-mail, usually in a humorous fashion.
  • Before being hired by Archie Comics, Ian Flynn, under his "Ian Potto" pseudonym, would frequently write in to Sonic Grams, giving critical opinions on the comic's direction.
  • The look of the fifth logo for Sonic Grams is styled after the logo of Sonic Generations.
  • After Archie Comics lost the rights to publish Sonic comics and IDW Publishing took over, a new feature called Sonic Letters Squad was introduced. This serves as a spiritual successor to the original Sonic Grams, allowing the comic staff to continue showcasing fan artwork and letters submitted by readers.
