Unused game content[]

In Sonic Classic Collection, a couple of menus and modes from the original releases of the games featured in this game still exist in its file data, but are otherwise unusable.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit)[]

  • 2 Player mode: This mode can still be found in the game data, and is fully functional, except that this mode is missing their music.
  • Level Select: This mode can still be found in the game data, and is fully functional.
  • Options: This mode can still be found in the game data, and is fully functional.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles[]

This game contains the exact same content as the ones for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Notably, Competition mode can be accessed if the ROM is reset with Debug Mode, but the music in the Zones are missing. In addition, the menu for the Competition mode uses the miniboss theme from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 alone as its soundtrack.
