Sonic Chao

Not to be confused with Sonic Chaos.

Sonic Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance[]

Sonic Chao have blue, pudding-like bodies with round heads. They also have large blue eyes, no noses, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, they have five quills on their backs of their heads, much like Sonic the Hedgehog, and triangular ears on top of their heads. They also have a floating blue dot above their heads, dark blue bellies, dark blue tipped arms, feet and ears, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs.

Sonic Adventure 2[]

In Sonic Adventure 2 and its enhanced port Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Chao appear as a type of Chao which can be acquired by Fusing a Neutral Chao into a run type, and continuing to give it Chaos Drives and Animals which increase its "run" stat.

Sonic Advance 3[]

In Sonic Advance 3, the Sonic Chao is the form Cheese can assume when Sonic the Hedgehog performs a Tag Action with Cream the Rabbit. While this Tag Action is in effect, Sonic can perform the Chao Attack with Cheese. After a short while though, Cheese will exit their Chao Sonic state.

Sonic Speed Simulator[]

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Sonic Chao is a collectible pet of the "Exotic" rarity. It could be purchased at a display model near the starting point in Green Hill for 599 Robux on June 25, 2022. Alternatively, the player could buy five of them at once for 1999 Robux at a display model in the same world. However, the option to purchase them was removed approximately a week afterwards. The Sonic Chao would return to the display model on 11 February 2023, where it could be individually purchased for 399 Robux, or purchased in a group of five for 999 Robux.

In gameplay, Sonic Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, the Sonic Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Sonic Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Sonic Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Sonic Chao by collecting five Sonic Chao, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Sonic Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.
