Sonic Blitz is a collectible card mobile game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is set to be developed and published by Rovio Entertainment for iOS and Android mobile devices and released in 2025. The game is also set to feature characters throughout the Sonic universe.[1]
Gameplay[]

Sonic Blitz is a collectable card game, akin to games like Marval Snap and Pokémon Trading Crad Game: Pocket. The player directs their selected deck of twelve characters through eight rounds in two lanes of characters going from card to full 3D to attack and damage the opponents Force Field. To do this you must strategically place four of your cards so when you dash it can be effective enough. Certain characters like have a special ability and it will be triggered once you dash, and it will do massive damage by strengthening other cards in that same lane by increasing their health and strength.
From a variety of characters from across the Sonic universe, use their Health, Damage and Energy to win and upgrade characters by completing various task by winning matches in the Ring Journey and Missions
Once you collect enough Star Coins you can level up your cards by receiving more stacks of them once you completed a match. Rings are a very important feature as you will collect then as you play and the more you collect the more things you get from Ring Journey.
Blitz Pass[]
Blitz Pass can be access through gaining Blitz Tokens from winning games and completing missions. Once you've collected enough, you'll get to unlock prizes such as character cards, card packs, player icons and more.
Modes[]
Weekly Missions[]
Missions, is a mode where you slowly complete overtime as you continue to play the game. By completing a mission you'll be granted stamps, and you need four in total to get the free booster pack. New missions will automatically come after some time. The goal is to complete twenty-five missions to get a weekly reward.
Ring Journey[]
In Ring Journey, you will earn Rings as you play and upgrade your cards to unlock rewards as you do so.
Collection[]
In the collection, there are two sets of them you can view the first being albums and the other being your current deck collection. In album the player will be able to view various cards based on where they are from.
- Arcade - features from the Arcade games characters such as Sonic, Mighty and Ray.
- Forest Friends - features characters such as Froggy, Chao, Ricky, and Flicky.
- Legends/Twin Stars - features characters such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow and Dr. Eggman.
- Metal Mayhem - features robot characters like Moto Bug, Caterkiller, Grounder, Heavy Shinobi and Metal Sonic.
- Hedgehog Havok - features hedgehog characters such as Sonic, Amy, Shadow and Silver.

- On 2 June 2025, the game would only be available in the Philippines for a "technical launch", with a global release date set to be announced in the future.
- On 16 June 2025, the game would enter a soft launch for Brazil in addition with several new character cards.
- The games app description mentions the game including characters across the Sonic universe.
- On 2 June 2025, the game would be datamined and various characters and their models from the games, comics and cartoons were found in the files of the game. Though as of the time, it is unknown whether every character found are in the game or not.
- This game commemorates the 35 years since the original Sonic the Hedgehog began development in April 1990, marking the beginning of the franchise and the creation of Sonic himself. That timing aligns perfectly with the game’s theme of celebrating the franchise’s history and Sonic’s legacy on its 35th anniversary of development.
