Cutscene 1[]
[In the skies over Station Square, Tails can be seen flying in a plane]
- Tails: Everything's going smoothly! If this keeps up, there shouldn't be any kind of problem. [The plane starts to shake] Huh? [The engine starts to sputter and give out, soon belching black smoke as it sounds like it is diving towards the ground] Wah-wah-wah-wah? This is bad! [The plane starts to fly around awkwardly] Uwaaaaaaahhhhh! Hyaaaaaaaa! I'm falliiiiiiing! [The plane goes through Station Square] Daaaaahhhhh! EEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKK! [The plane is heard crashing behind the hotel on Emerald Coast]
Cutscene 2[]
[The plane crashes on Emerald Coast and Sonic is there to help Tails]
Cutscene 3[]
[Sonic and Tails head back to Station Square. Sonic's theme is playing]
- Sonic: I'm glad I just happened to see you up there. More importantly... What happened? It's not like you to crash a plane like that.
- Tails: I was testing the new model. Looks like there was a malfunction in the power transmission system.
- Sonic: There's the Tornado I left in your care if you need a plane, you know.
- Tails: Hehe, this time I'm thinking of something even more amazing! I've got this, too... Here you go! [Takes out a Chaos Emerald]
- Sonic: Wow! A Chaos Emerald!
- Tails: Yup! I picked up one of the seven. A mysterious gem that produces infinite power... I believe I can use this thing as a power source, somehow. Oh, right, let's go to my workshop! There's something I want to show you. It's at the Mystic Ruins. By taking a train from the station, you can get there in no time!
Cutscene 4[]
[At the Mystic Ruins near Tails' workshop, Dr. Eggman appears to confront Tails and Sonic, descending to confront them in the Eggmobile]
- Dr. Eggman: Hoohohoho! Sonic and Tails!
[Eggman's theme plays]
- Tails: Dr. Eggman!
- Eggman: Indeed! I am the world's greatest genius scientist, Dr. Eggman!
- Sonic: ...Long time no see.
- Eggman: I've stayed quiet for a while, but I'll be getting busy again.
- Tails: Are you planning to cause trouble again?
- Eggman: This time, I won't let you get in my way! Now kindly hand over your Chaos Emerald. Or else...
- Tails: Or else...?
- Eggman: Or else I'll take it from you by force!
[Eggman flies off briefly and sinks below the cliff face, but comes back up with his Eggmobile modified into the Egg Hornet. He flies over to face Sonic and Tails in it]
Cutscene 5[]
[Eggman crashes his Eggmobile onto the ground defeated]
- Tails: [Walking toward Sonic while holding the Chaos Emerald] Heh, all bark and no bite.
- Eggman: [Spots the Chaos Emerald] An opening! [Uses a mechanical arm to grab the Chaos Emerald]
- Tails: Oh no!
- Eggman: Alright, Chaos! Take this!
- Tails: Chaos...?
[Chaos appears beside Eggman]
- Sonic: That's the thing from before...!
[Tails blinks in confusion Eggman tosses the Chaos Emerald into Chaos and Chaos grows in size, becoming Chaos 1]
- Eggman: Ooh! It's happening exactly as it said on the stone tablet! Mwhahaha, Sonic! Chaos here becomes more powerful with every Chaos Emerald he gets. If I collect all seven Chaos Emeralds, he will grow into the ultimate monster! I'll use him to destroy Station Square...! And build my ideal city over the ruins, Eggmanland! Muhahahaha! Alright, Chaos! We're leaving to look for the next Emerald!
[Eggman tosses a flash bang down and he and Chaos disappear while Sonic and Tails are blinded]
- Tails: That blasted Eggman!
- Sonic: If that monster keeps transforming, there's gonna be big trouble!
- Tails: Like we'll let Eggman have his way! If we don't let him get the Emeralds, Chaos shouldn't transform any further! Sonic! Let's beat them by collecting the Chaos Emeralds!
Cutscene 6[]
[Tails and Sonic are walking out of Casinopolis. Suddenly, Eggman appears, descending down from the sky and then charging right at Tails.]
- Tails: [Jumps out of the way of Eggman] Oops! [Drops the Chaos Emerald] The Chaos Emerald! [Tries to go and pick it up]
- Eggman: Take this! [Sprays Tails and Sonic with sleeping gas]
- Tails: Fwaaah! [Falls on the ground]
[Eggman takes the Chaos Emerald]
- Eggman: Haahahahaha! [Flies away]
- Tails: Egg...man...! [Falls asleep]
Cutscene 7[]
[It is now morning and Tails and Sonic had just woken up]
- Tails: Sonic, what happened to the Chaos Emerald...?
- Sonic: He snatched one of them... But the one we got a while ago is safe. ...He must be desperate.
- Tails: That means Eggman has two, and we have one... We can't give in, Sonic!
Cutscene 8[]
[Tails and Sonic walk around and meet up with Knuckles. Knuckles' theme plays]
- Tails: Knuckles!
[Knuckles tries to attack Tails but he dodges the punches]
- Tails: What are you doing?!
- Knuckles: Don't argue with me now! Hand over that emerald!
- Tails: In your dreams!
Cutscene 9[]
[Tails and Knuckles charge at each other and the collision causes Tails to drop both Chaos Emeralds]
- Tails: Wah! The Chaos Emeralds!
[Eggman suddenly appears]
- Eggman: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! And they're all mine!
- Tails: Dr. Eggman!
[Eggman takes both Emeralds]
- Tails: Oh no!
- Eggman: [Holding both Emeralds] Hmph... fool, swallowing my deception like that.
- Knuckles: That's... a Chaos Emerald!
- Eggman: I wanted an easier way to get them. I used your personality to my advantage!
- Tails: [Talking to Knuckles] What do you mean? Could it be...
- Sonic: You let Eggman fool you again?
- Knuckles: Sh-Shut uuuup!
- Sonic: Are you simple-minded or what...?
- Eggman: Heheheh... Now I have four Emeralds! Chaos!
[Chaos in its second form appears besides Eggman]
- Eggman: Take these!
[Eggman tosses both of the Chaos Emeralds to Chaos and it transforms into its fourth form]
- Tails: He transformed again! Chaos... We've got to do something!
Cutscene 10[]
[The Egg Carrier is seen above the Mystic Ruins]
- Eggman: Behold! My almighty air fortress: the Egg Carrier! You haven't seen the full power of Chaos yet! Until we meet again!
[Eggman is beamed up onto his Egg Carrier and it leaves]
- Tails: Sonic, let's go after him! My lab is nearby, so let's bring out the Tornado!
- Sonic: Yeah!
- Knuckles: Sonic... There's something else I need to do. Sorry, but I can't follow.
- Sonic: I see... Okay, Knuckles! We can take care of him ourselves! Alright... Let's go, Tails!
Cutscene 11[]
[At Tails' workshop]
- Tails: Sonic, wait here for a moment!
[Tails heads inside and gets the Tornado out. His theme starts to play]
- Tails: Now, get on!
[Sonic hops onto the Tornado]
- Tails: Alright! Let's go, then!
After Sky Chase Act 2[]
[Tails and Sonic have already caught up with the Egg Carrier, blasting down any robots that come their way. The circled around the flying battleship twice and end up just above in front of it.]
- Tails: We did it!
- Sonic: That wasn't hard at all!
[Unknown to them, Eggman was watching their every move and was inside commanding a laser.]
- Eggman: Hmph. Don't think you've won! Ready the Eggman Cannon...
[The cannon charges up before Eggman gives the cue...]
- Eggman: Fire!
[A super-strong neon blue laser beam was fired from the cannon, blasting off the entire left wing of the Tornado!]
- Tails: Wah! We're hit!
[Sonic flew off the back of the plane, grabbing onto the tail for dear life as he and Tails corkscrewed out of the sky!]
- Sonic and Tails: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Cutscene 12[]
[A flashback plays of the first time Tails encountered Sonic, amazed by the speeds he can go and follows after him. Sonic doesn't seem to notice him, but Tails doesn't care and continues to follow him, becoming brighter and more positive thanks to Sonic.]
Cutscene 13[]
[Cutting back to present time in the Mystic Ruins, we find out it was a dream from Tails, who wakes up in the main area of Mystic Ruins]
- Tails: ...That was a nostalgic dream... I've changed a lot thanks to Sonic... Sonic? [Gets on his feet and looks around noticing Sonic isn't around] I guess we got separated... Dang it, the current Tornado isn't enough after all! In order to go up against the Egg Carrier... I need to complete that new model! And for that... I need the Chaos Emerald. I gotta look for a Chaos Emerald!
Cutscene 14[]
[After searching around in the forest, Tails finds a Chaos Emerald on the ground]
- Tails: There it is! A Chaos Emerald!
[Suddenly, a frog eats the Chaos Emerald and hops away]
- Tails: Ah! Hey! [Chases the frog into a cave] Waaaaaiiit!
Cutscene 15[]
[A red ball of light surrounds Tails and takes him back into the past]
- Tails: H-Huh? Wasn't I in the desert...? What does this mean?
Cutscene 16[]
[After getting the Rhythm Badge, Tails wonders around and finds Tikal]
- Tikal: What must be done. The seven chaos. [Turns around and spots Tails] Oh, hello. How are you doing?
- Tails: Um... What was that just now...?
- Tikal: Ah... Those are the words my granny told me. She said it's an old legend. And that I mustn't ever forget it. ...It goes like this. "What must be done. The seven chaos. Chaos is power. Power comes from the heart. The master of that is the one who controls chaos." ...I may not understand what it's supposed to mean... But I'm caught up in the number seven. It's the same number as the amount of Emeralds there are...
- Tails: Emeralds...
- Tikal: This is the first time we've met. What's your name? I'm Tikal...
[Before he could answer, Tails is taken back to the present]
Cutscene 17[]
[Tails is taken back to the train station area of the Mystic Ruins and is holding Froggy. Big's theme plays and he is seen running toward Tails and Froggy]
- Big: [Trips] Waaaaaaaiii!
- Tails: Uwah!
[In the confusion, Tails accidentally lets go of Froggy and he hops away]
- Big: [Chasing after Froggy] Wait for meee...
- Tails: Wh-What was that all about...? Oh, right, the Chaos Emerald. [Holding the Chaos Emerald] As long as I have this... Tornado 2's completion will be imminent!
Cutscene 18[]
[Tails makes it back to his workshop]
- Tails: The time has come at last...! It'll be stronger than the prototype model. In theory, there shouldn't be any problems... I'm going to complete it! After that, I'll use this...! [His theme plays] Here I come, Sonic...!
[Tails hops in his new Tornado 2 and opens a door located down the cliff face from his workshop to prepare to launch it]
- Tails: Tornado 2, taking off!
Cutscene 19[]
[Tails takes off on his Tornado 2 and, later, makes it to Red Mountain where the Egg Carrier can be seen]
- Tails: I've got you... Egg Carrier! [Spots Sonic nearby] There's Sonic! Soniiiiic!
- Sonic: Tails! You're okay! [Hops onto the Tornado 2] Alright, Tails! To the Egg Carrier!
- Tails: We're going after it!
[Tails and Sonic fly toward the Egg Carrier once more]
During Sky Chase Act 2[]

Cutscene 20[]
[After damaging the Egg Carrier a bit, Tails and Sonic prepare to land on the Egg Carrier]
- Tails: We're in!
- Sonic: Tails! Land on the Egg Carrier!
- Tails: Okay! ...? Oh no!
- Sonic: What's wrong?
- Tails: This plane has no legs after transforming!
- Sonic: Whaaat!!??
Cutscene 21[]
[The Tornado 2 lands on the Egg Carrier but is stuck on it. Tails and Sonic get out of the Tornado 2]
- Sonic: Wow! This thing gets more and more unbelievable if you look at it up close.
- Tails: Sonic! Don't stop to admire things now, hurry up and look for Amy!
- Sonic: You're right. Okay, here we goooo!
Cutscene 22[]
[After walking to the center area]
- Eggman: [From a loud speaker] Don't get so excited, Sonic! I'll show you the true form of my almighty air fortress, the Egg Carrier! Press!
[The Egg Carrier changes form making the main bridge inaccessible]
Cutscene 23[]
- Tails: Awesome! It transformed! Hey hey, did you see that just now!?
- Sonic: Shoot! At this rate, we can't get to the bridge!
- Tails: ...You meanie.
- Eggman: Hoohohoho! Did you see it, hear it? Were you surprised? Sonic! If you want to come here, you've got to pass through the Sky Deck! Will you really be able to do that, though? Hoohohoho!
- Sonic: Sounds fun! Let's do it! COME ON!!
Cutscene 24[]
[After clearing through Sky Deck, Sonic and Tails make it inside of the Egg Carrier]
- Sonic: What, that's it?
- Tails: The bridge looks suspicious. Let's go check above, Sonic!
Cutscene 25[]
[After getting back onto the top, Tails and Sonic find Amy and Eggman]
- Amy: Sonic! Tails!
- Eggman: Hmph, you're late! [Takes the bird from Amy]
- Amy: Birdie!
[Eggman takes the Chaos Emerald from the bird]
- Tails: It's a Chaos Emerald!
- Amy: No way...!
- Eggman: As long as I have this, I don't need you anymore. Gamma!
- Gamma: [Suddenly appears] Did you call me, Dr. Eggman?
- Eggman: Shoot these pests full of holes! Show the fruits of your training!
- Gamma: Aye-aye sir, Dr. Eggman.
- Eggman: I'll leave the rest to you! [Leaves]
[Gamma prepares to fight Tails]
Cutscene 26[]
[Gamma falls defeated and Tails proceeds to finish him off but Amy stands in his way]
- Amy: Tails, stop!
- Tails: Amy, this is dangerous. Move aside!
- Amy: No! This robot isn't evil. Tails, please stop.
- Tails: Amy... Okay, I understand. If you say so... You must have a reason.
[Everyone notices that the Egg Carrier starts to shake]
- Tails: This ship is losing altitude!
- Sonic: There's no time. Tails, take Amy and get out of here!
- Amy: What about you?
- Sonic: I'll follow Eggman! I can't afford to ignore him!
[Sonic runs off and Tails flies Amy off of the Egg Carrier (with Gamma also leaving). The Egg Carrier is soon destroyed, dropping out of the sky as explosions rupture across the hull.]
Cutscene 27[]
[Tails flies Amy back into Station Square. Eggman in his mobile could be seen crashing nearby and Tails starts to walk in that direction after seeing off Amy and Birdie]
- Tails: Eggman!? I wonder what happened to Sonic...?
- Eggman: Chaos has been defeated, and the Egg Carrier has sunk. In that case, I'll do whatever it takes to destroy Station Square!
[Eggman flies back up and soon, out to sea, a large missile can be seen]
- Tails: If that missile is launched...!
- Eggman: Now, fire!
[The missile is launched but it doesn't go off when it lands]
- Eggman: Oh! It didn't explode! Gah, what happened!? Damn it! I'll go check what's going on myself! [Flies off]
- Tails: Th-This is bad! If I don't outrun him, Eggman will blow up the missile! [Chasing after Eggman]
Cutscene 28[]
- Tails: It's over there! I've got to somehow outrun Eggman and deal with the missile! But... if I don't make it in time, this city will go up in smoke...! So-Sonic... I changed thanks to my encounter with Sonic... But I can't just keep running behind him. I'm going to have to run with just my own strength someday...!
Cutscene 29[]
[After clearing through Speed Highway. Tails and the people of Station Square look over at Eggman]
- Male citizen: I-It's Eggman!
- Eggman: You've done it, Tails. You dealt with the missile before me! You'll be paying dearly for that!
[Eggman flies up]
- Male citizen: Is he okay?
[Eggman then comes down with his large mech known as the Egg Walker. The people run away screaming, yet Tails still stays standing]
- Eggman: Hmph, I'll pinch and crush the likes of you!
- Tails: I'm not scared... I'm not scared...! I can do this... by myself!
Cutscene 30[]
[Eggman is defeated and the people cheer for Tails]
- Tails: I did it...!
- Female citizen: You saved the day! You're the best!
- Tails: [His theme starts to play] I did this all on my own...!
- Male citizen: Mm... that was incredible...
[Tails celebrates for a bit and flies off.]
Cutscene 31[]
[Tails is back at his workshop in the Mystic Ruins and Sonic can be seen. Tails and Sonic give each other a high five and the both leave together.]
