Sonic & Friends (ソニック&フレンズ, Sonikku & Furenzu^?) is a Japanese CGI-animated web series developed by Sega, based on the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a series of shorts primarily uploaded to Sega's official TikTok, and subsequently other Japanese social media accounts.

Aimed at children, the series is composed of short animations about the cuter "chibi" versions of Sonic the Hedgehog, his friends Tails, Knuckles and Amy, as well as Shadow, Rouge, Silver, and the evil Dr. Eggman doing activities (usually dances) on a southern island.

On 3 July 2023, a trademark for the title "SONIC & FRIENDS" was filed by Sega.^[1] It was, however, unspecified what it was for. A logo for this title was trademarked as well, on July 27.^[2]

On 7 August 2023, Sega officially released the first short in their TikTok account, captioned "SONIC&FRIENDS START!!".^[3] Following shorts would be published with no schedule, but are often uploaded weekly if the show is not on hiatus.

On 25 April 2025, it was announced that a collaboration between the web series and Sanrio was happening.^[4] With a line of crossover merchandise coming soon. The products were unveiled at the Tokyo Toy Show held from 28 August to 31.

The plush line will release in two sizes: medium plushes priced at ¥4,950 and smaller ball-chain mascot plushes priced at ¥2,420, they will release across Japan on 7 November, featuring Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman, Shadow will release later on 11 December.

On 18 September 2025, it was revealed new merchandise in the form of keychains for 2026.

	Amy Rose	Amy Rose is very kind and a great friend! She loves hanging out and enjoying the outdoors. She always travels with her big Piko Piko Hammer.^[6]
	Miles "Tails" Prower	His real name is "Miles Prower", but you can call him "Tails"! He can spin his two tails really fast to fly! He’s also good at building things and flying planes.^[7]
	Knuckles the Echidna	Knuckles the Echidna is very brave! He’s so super strong that his punches can shatter rocks. He loves to explore and is great at finding treasures!^[8]
	Dr. Eggman	Dr. Eggman is a genius scientist but also very mean. He’s a bully who wants everything to go his way.^[9]
	Shadow the Hedgehog	At first glance, Shadow looks like a dark version of Sonic. He always acts aloof and will use any means necessary to achieve his goal.^[10] He debuted in the series in 29 July 2024, in short #39.
	Rouge the Bat	Rouge debuted in the series in 31 March 2025, in short #57.^[11]
	Silver the Hedgehog	Silver debuted in the series in 28 August 2025, in short #76.^[12]

Cute Sonic wallpaper 1 — A wallpaper for mobile devices of various characters in the "cute" style

The series uses the "cute" character design style that has been used for merchandise since 2017. Similar designs were also used for the "Emoji" plush toys for Sonic Boom.
In the original trailer for the series, Amy's legs were portrayed as tan, like her arms and muzzle. This was fixed when the first episode was released.
In the 39th short, Sonic's quills are positioned to match Shadow's. The reason for this is unknown.
Despite officially debuting on 31 March 2025, Rouge's teaser short first premiered in the Seoul leg of the Sonic Official Fan Meeting Tour on 29 March 2025.

Sonic&FriendsSonicRumbleBuddy — A Sonic-based buddy, from *Sonic Rumble*.

This series' version of Sonic and Tails can be equipped as Buddys in Sonic Rumble.
