"Sonia's Choice" is the thirty-fourth episode of the Sonic Underground television series. It first aired on 2 May 1999 in France and on 14 October 1999 in the United States. It was included in Volume 2.

Plot[]
Robotnik has arranged a museum exhibit of the Royal family goblets. Knowing that Sonic, Sonia and Manic will want to reclaim their family's treasures, Robotnik expects the heirlooms will serve as perfect bait to finally capture the Hedgehogs. Sonic and his siblings are aware that this is most likely a trap and devise a counter plan of their own to avoid getting caught. The Hedgehogs' mission falls apart and when Sonic and Manic are taken prisoner, Sonia must choose between which brother she should risk rescuing from the robotization chamber first, Manic or Sonic. She is told she will only have enough time to save one, as each brother is being held on opposite sides of the city.
Sonia opts to save Sonic first, figuring that he will be fast enough to get them to the other side of the city in time to save Manic. But before they can get there, Robotnik starts the roboticizer Manic is in. The machine is sabotaged secretly by Queen Aleena just in time.

Trivia[]
- The plot and title of this episode are possibly a reference to the book Sophie's Choice, in which a mother, interned in a concentration camp during the Holocaust, must choose one of her children to survive while sending the other to die.
- This is the only episode of Sonic Underground where a living creature dies; one of the dinosaurs that was placed in Robotnik's museum is accidentally disintegrated by a Death Pod.
