The Solo Hit is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Projectile Item used primarily to attack rivals.
Description[]
The Solo Hit's icon takes the yellow multi-point star with some sparkles outside, and some pink musical notes in center.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Solo Hit can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Popstar Amy. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic can also use the Solo Hit if he uses the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Solo Hit by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Solo-Hit's traps will appear in front of the user's next rival if the user is behind said rival. If the user is leading the race however, it will appear on the lane directly behind them. The duration of the Solo Hit is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Solo Hit is in effect. If a rival character collides with the Solo Hit's traps, include the user, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, rival characters hit by the Solo Hit will have their Item slots on the bottom of the HUD locked for a short time, thus temporarily preventing the player from using the power-ups stored in them. To avoid those traps, the player must either jump over it or step out of its lane.
The Solo Hit can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. When the user is upgraded to level 6, the player increases the damage of the Solo Hit, and when the user is upgraded to level 12, the Solo Hit will drop more traps during its duration.
Trivia[]
The Solo Hit's jingle is a short remixed version of "Follow Me".
