Rings Cleanup Sonic Jump
This article has been marked for cleanup to meet the Manual of Style.
The reason it's been marked has been given as:
"Find exactly where the Solid Pawn is located in Sonic Heroes, as it is unkown where it is located in-game."
Please discuss this issue on its talk page or replace this tag with a more specific message.

The Solid Pawn (ソリッドポーン[citation needed] Sorido Pōn?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced Pawn Series[1] Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance[]

The Solid Pawns are humanoid robots based on Dr. Eggman. The typical Solid Pawn has a round body and a dome-shaped head that come together in an egg-like shape. It also has blank blue eyes, a sharp nose, a wide glowing panel for a mouth, and a black lower torso section. Solid Pawns also have gray cable-like limbs with four-fingered hands, boot-like feet, cuffs around their wrists and ankles, and short shoulder guards.

The first Solid Pawns were mainly gray in coloration with orange details. Later models would be colored purple and blue.

Game appearances[]

Sonic Heroes[]

The Solid Pawns debuted in Sonic Heroes as enemies and are stronger versions of the Egg Pawn variety. In this game, the player encounters them only in Egg Fleet.

In gameplay, the Solid Pawns can come equipped with a variety of weaponry, including the Egg Spear, Egg Gun and Egg Bazooka, and even have shields with three different styles, just like Egg Pawns. They can also only be destroyed with a Power Formation attack.

Sonic Rush[]

SolidPawn

In Sonic Rush, Solid Pawns appear as enemies again. In this game, they received a different color scheme. They also only appear in Dead Line.

In gameplay, Solid Pawns patrol their surrounding area, and when they detect the playable character, they will run towards them, trying to ram them. They can also block and bounce off all frontal ground attacks with their shields, (except for the Super Boost and Fire Boost, which can immediately destroy a Solid Pawn). As such, when not relying on the Super Boost/Fire Boost, it is advised to attack a Solid Pawn from above or behind.

Sonic Rivals[]

In Sonic Rivals, a Solid Pawn appears on a collectible card that is using its artwork from Sonic Heroes.

Powers and abilities[]

The first Solid Pawns were very durable robots, so much in fact that only a Power Type-classified fighter was be able to damage them.

Weapons and equipment[]

The Solid Pawns' standard arsenal include lances named Egg Spears, single-shot recoilless rifles named Egg Bazookas, and automatic blasters named Egg Guns. They also carry shields of varying durability.
