Snow Valley was the fourth world in Sonic Speed Simulator. It could be unlocked after the playable character had completed at least five rebirths. It contained no cards for unlocking new playable characters.
Formerly, Snow Valley was placed in between Emerald Hill and Hill Top. However, following the "Rebirth" update, it was removed from the game, and as such, is currently inaccessible. It was replaced with New Yoke City.
Snow Valley is a vast and frosty wasteland-like area with snow mounds, and tons of snow-covered icebergs that have crystal-like patterns, similar to IceCap Zone. In addition, extensive snow-covered trees appear next to rocks blanketed on top with snow. Like in Lost Valley, there is not much variety to the terrain here; while the world features a number of blocky rock hills in all manner of sizes and complex arrangements, they are all covered in snow. However, there are some steep hills here that form ramps. There are also icy paths that emerge from under the snow in some places. There are also a very few number of wooden structures around the world. These include footbridges that connect to other platforms. There are also rectangular rocks at the loops, similar to those in Emerald Hill. The sky on the other hand is Timberwolf gray with some clouds.
Gameplay[]
Similar to Lost Valley, Snow Valley is an open and free-roaming level with no enemies to fight. It does not feature many gameplay elements or gimmicks for the player to utilize. While there are a few loops here, there are also broken versions of these level structures as well. There are also no Grind Rails here. However, there are also a pair of Jump Panels in the snow of Snow Valley that the player can use to send themselves flying. There are also ice formations around Snow Valley, mostly in mainly in the shape of protruding and steeply sloping rock blocks that can launch the playable character into midair if they run off them fast enough. The few wooden scaffolds around the world also serve as platforms. Some of them have Springs attached to them, which help the player get to the upper areas.
Snow Valley, like Lost Valley, is littered with Chaos Orbs and Rings that the player can collect. These objects are aligned randomly, since Snow Valley has practically no roads, making Snow Valley confusing to navigate. However, some Chaos Orbs and Rings are aligned in strings for better navigation. Some of them also appear on wooden scaffolds. There are as well four Sky Rings in Snow Valley for obtaining additional Experience Points. The first one is found in the Snow Valley Obby, in the area where the environment transits into the other. This one grants the player 900 Experience Points. The second one is located near the starting area for Snow Valley, in-between two low-set ramps. This one awards 3,750 Experience Points. The third one is located between the two Jump Panels that the player can use to reach it with. This one is worth 3,750 Experience Points. The final one is located on an upper path. To reach it, the player has to bounce up on top of a pillar with a Spring attached to a wooden scaffold and then walk over the footbridge on that pillar. The Sky Ring can then be found next to the neighboring pillar, but the player has to jump to reach it. This Sky Ring is worth 4,700 Experience Points.
Overview[]
For a player to enter Snow Valley, they must first have completed at least five rebirths. Once that has been achieved, head into the Snow Valley Obby in Emerald Hill where the player has to overcome an obstacle course. This course consists of two sections that seamlessly connect with each other as it changes from a grassland to a snow-covered terrain, with the first section resembling Emerald Hill while the second section looks like Snow Valley. Over the course of the Snow Valley Obby, the player must use wooden scaffolds and platforms to jump across a pit. Once on the other side, the player has to enter the Giant Ring that leads into Snow Valley to unlock it.
Upon arriving in Snow Valley, the playable character will arrive in a small round valley with rock walls around themselves. Behind the playable character is the Giant Ring portal to the Snow Valley Obby, on the left a vending machine, and on the right is Giant Ring portal to Green Hill. The entrance to the main portion of Snow Valley on the other hand is located straight ahead of the playable character.
Events[]
Snow Valley could have event items like Pink Crystals and Chili Dogs appear, but in much lower quantities than other worlds. Notably, certain events like Scavenger Hunt Event and the Treasure Hunt Event had tasks that could be completed in every world except for Snow Valley, as it lacked placements for those items.
Snow Valley would originally first become available after three Rebirths. Following an update to Sonic Speed Simulator however, the requirement was increased to five.
Hill Top Obby was later removed and repurposed into a Snow Valley Race.
During the original run of the "Android Anomaly Event", direct access to Snow Valley from Green Hill was blocked, the player had to go the long way through the prior 2 worlds in order to reach it.
If the player went to Snow Valley during this time, they'd find that the Hill Top portal was replaced with Espio, talking about how he was too late to stop the crisis that was unfolding at the time.
Despite being removed during the 2.0 update, Hill Top Obby, and the Snow Valley theme, returned temporarily during the "Legit Event" for April Fools 2024
