Slynko charges straight into our hearts. Literally.

— Description, Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal

The Slynko is an enemy that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a mass-produced model of Destruction Troops created by Lyric the Last Ancient.

Appearance[]

The Slynkos are bipedal robots with a spherical silver torso each. They have a yellow/blue ring around their torsos and a large black eye each with green sclera for a head. Their heads have yellow/blue eyelids and mandibles while their torsos have two thin legs with spherical joints, yellow/blue kneecap plating and round black feet with small yellow/blue claws.

Overview[]

The Slynkos were created five millennia ago in the Robot Facility by Lyric the Last Ancient to help him destroy the earth's lifeforms and conquer it.[1] However, the Slynkos were shut down when Lyric got imprisoned during an attack on the remaining Ancients.[1][2] They were later recovered by Lyric after he escaped in the present day to search for the Crystal Shards and battle Team Sonic too.

The Slynkos can be found in Ancient City and Air Fortress. In gameplay, they normally walk around on the ceilings, but they can also be found walking on the floors in rare cases. Noticeably, they constantly emit a green targeting laser. Shortly after they notice the playable character passing them, the Slynkos will pursue the playable character along the surface they hang onto and try to shoot them with a brief laser whenever they get below/above them. In addition, the Slynkos move quite fast, so it is best not to seek a direct fight with them. However, they cannot cross corners or walls and their laser cannot reach into corners. Also, if the player gets far enough away, they will cease their attack. Also, even if the player manages to destroy a Slynko, a new one will later respawn to take its place. Additionally, the sixteenth Toy the player purchases from Q-N-C's Toy Shop will be a Slynko figurine.

After Team Sonic and Shadow defeated Lyric, the Slynkos were stopped once more.

Personality[]

Basically, the Slynkos are mindless and silent drones unwaveringly loyal to Lyric the Last Ancient, having been programmed to obey his every command.[1] In addition, they have a habit of going straight for their opponents' hearts in battle.

His race was devoted to peacefully controlling the world’s resources. Driven mad by power, Lyric turned on his fellow Ancients and took control of the resources. Building an army of robots programmed to obey his every command, the deadly snake-like villain set out to destroy everything organic and create a world of twisted metal and robots. However, just before he could successfully take over, he was attacked by the last surviving Ancients and imprisoned forever. With his army shut down and his plans ruined, he waited in prison plotting his revenge. Years passed and Lyric began to give up hope. That is, until Sonic comes across him. Now with his army rebooted, and his plans in place, the only thing stopping Lyric from total victory is Sonic and his friends."
