The Slipstream Whirlwind is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Slipstream Whirlwind's icon takes the form of a blue windy blast forward, leaving the cyan trail with two white triangular arrows point the same direction where it blasts. In gameplay, the Slipstream Whirlwind will became an aforementioned whirlwind, leaving a slipstream trail in its wake.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Slipstream Whirlwind can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Extreme Gear Sonic . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Slipstream Whirlwind if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Slipstream Whirlwind by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user tosses the Slipstream Whirlwind, which will travel down the lane it was deployed on in front of the user. It will be disabled when it wears off. In addition, any rival character who makes contact with the Slipstream Whirlwind will take damage, send the player up to the air and stop for a moment. To avoid the Slipstream Whirlwind, the playable character has to step out its lane or jump over it.
The Slipstream Whirlwind can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the Slipstream Whirlwind will increase damage.
