Sky Rings can be challenging to collect, but they reward large sums of XP!

Omochao, Sonic Speed Simulator

The Sky Ring is a gimmick that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of floating ring used to gain Experience Points.

Description[]

The Sky Ring is a type of ring that takes the form of a large semitransparent hoop floating sideways in midair. Different Sky Rings come in different colors, although light purple is the most common. Furthermore, each Sky Ring has a plus sign followed by a number and the word "XP" written inside in the same color as their Sky Ring itself.

Overview[]

In the gameplay of Sonic Speed Simulator, Sky Rings can be found within the different worlds in the game. Their purpose is to grant the playable character Experience Points. The amount of Experience Points they can grant range from several hundreds to several thousand points, The amount of Experience Points a Sky Ring grants is displayed by the number written inside its inner rim. For a playable character to obtain a Sky Ring's Experience Points, they have to either pass through its inner rim or just touch its sides. In some cases, they are granted a brief boost in speed as well. Furthermore, a Sky Ring can be used multiple times to the same effect. However, after each usage, a Sky Ring will become inactive for one minute, rendering its unable to grant Experience Points and speed boosts. After one minute has passed though, the Sky Ring returns and becomes usable again. With the "Sky Rings" Boost however, the player can activate an upgrade that will last for half an hour, during which the cooldown between each usage of a Sky Ring is reduced to ten seconds.

Each world in Sonic Speed Simulator holds multiple Sky Rings that grant different amounts of Experience Points. They can be found floating in various locations, from just above the ground to high up in the sky. As such, some Sky Rings are easy to reach while others require a high level and expertise in platforming to reach.

Additional Sky Rings have also appear as part of the events in the game. During events like the "Birthday Bash Event", they appear at the end of midair Balloon chains that the player can skip across with the Homing Attack. In addition, during the "Birthday Bash Event", the Sky Rings used by players on a shared server served as a counter for the Tornado; for every one hundredth Sky Ring used, the Tornado would fly over Green Hill and drop Rings.
