Sky Chase Zone is the fifth zone in Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure. It is the first single-Act zone in the game, with it also featuring no boss.

Sky Chase Zone's entirety takes place in the sky, with sparsely placed floating platforms in the upper and lower boundaries of the zone.
Story[]
After Sonic receives a sharp left-hook towards the sky from Knuckles, he lands conveniently on the top wing of the Tornado piloted by Tails. They then pursue Dr. Robotnik, who has managed to steal the purple Chaos Emerald.
Gameplay[]
Sky Chase Zone is highly similar to the zone of the same name in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, with the Zone constantly moving forward via auto-scrolling. The player will be standing on top of the wings of the Tornado with very little space to stand on. The player will have to fight the airborne Badniks as they move towards the end of the Zone. The player must avoid falling off the biplane or platforms as the lower part of auto scrolling Zone functions as bottomless pit. The top quarter of the screen is unable to pass into in the Tornado, and the player must either climb the platforms or bounce off a Badnik to access any higher items.
The player is able to move the Tornado the same way as the playable character and perform Spin Jumps and Spin Dashes with Sonic. As for moving and jumping, the Tornado stays below the playable character. In addition, small floating platforms will along the route, usually place above or below the pathway. Some of them have item boxes or hidden spikes popping out of them.
There are a total of thirteen Nebulas and thirteen Balkiries within this zone.

Due to the auto-scrolling gimmick, it takes a maximum of two minutes to clear the Zone by reaching Aerobase Zone's platform where the goal plate is placed.
Photo piece locations[]
- Go straight up at the start and jump to the platform.
- At the top at 0:50, bounce off the Balkiry to reach the photo piece.
- Directly under the third photo piece, at the very bottom of the area.
- Near the top at 1:08 with spikes underneath.
- Bounce up off a Nebula up the top at 1:45.
Trivia[]
- Sky Chase Zone serves as the first Act of Aerobase Zone. This is shown in Level Select, although the title cards do not reflect this.
- The Zone takes its music from the Azure Lake from Sonic the Hedgehog 3's two-player mode.
