On the Emerald Hill on Hallowe'en, a ghastly sight will sure be seen. From the pits of the desolate Grim Dead Zone, nasty ghosts will rise and roam. This happens every fifty years, when the Skeleton Crew play on our fears.

— A legend of the Skeleton Crew, Sonic the Comic #141

The Skeleton Crew[1] is a group that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They are a band of ghosts that appear once every fifty years from the Grim Dead Zone to haunt the Emerald Hill Zone for the entire day.

History[]

Past[]

For an unspecified amount of time, the Skeleton Crew have emerged from the Grim Dead Zone every fifty years on Halloween to haunt the people of Emerald Hill Zone for the entire day until midnight.[1]

Skeleton Crew[]

During the Halloween of 1998, Miles "Tails" Prower heard of the tale of the Skeleton Crew from the Emerald Hill Zone's Zone Leader, thinking it to be nonsense. However, the fox was proven wrong when the ghosts emerged, scaring and terrifying the inhabitants of the Zone.[1]

Tails soon realized that the ghosts could not hurt people, and could only scare them. He thus flew above the people, shouting out this information to get them to calm down and not be scared of the Skeleton Crew. The Skeleton Crew were displeased with this, as this meant they would not be able to scare anyone. They thus gave chase after Tails, who flew all the way to another time Zone in the Tornado where it was midnight, causing the Skeleton Crew to disappear prematurely.[1]
