Blaze the Cat[]

Silver and Blaze, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
Blaze the Cat is Silver's companion and best friend, as the two worked together in his dark future during the Solaris incident.[12] Both were dedicated to finding a way to finish Iblis and free the future from flames. Silver relied on Blaze for her ability to sense Iblis,[13] but also for emotional stability. He showed concern for her safety and greatly trusted her.[14] He came to Blaze with his biggest questions, such as how to destroy Iblis or whether it's right to take a life to save the world.[15][16] He valued her straightforward thinking, while Blaze valued his earnestness.[17]
Silver became unstable without Blaze's emotional support, following Mephiles' plan unquestioningly. Upon being separated by time travel, Silver hunted the Iblis Trigger while Blaze tried to reunite with him. His encounter with Amy reminded him of Blaze and got him to wait for her in Soleanna New City, where he seemed ashamed and again sought her advice. They then continued to fight for the future together, agreeing to save the world at any cost.[18] Despite his willingness to take Sonic's life to save the future, Silver couldn't bring himself to stop time and seal Blaze and Iblis away to do the same, unwilling to lose her. He asked for her assurance that she was his "friend," underestimating their bond and causing Blaze to playfully scold him for being naive before vanishing.[17]
Once Solaris was erased from the timeline, Silver's life was altered and his relationship with Blaze was forgotten. In appearances since, the two do not retain any knowledge of this time they spent together. Silver and Blaze meet again on Sweet Mountain during the Wisp incident, where they combine their powers to scare off Orbot and Cubot. While he is unable to recall his partnership with Blaze, Silver feels a familiar sense of having worked with her before.[19]
While getting to know each other again, references to their former relationship continue to occur. During the Time Eater incident, Silver and Blaze both represent the Crisis City area, and they can be seen talking at Sonic's birthday party in the ending. During Dodon Pa's Grand Prix, Silver and Blaze race together as part of Team Vector. They share a warm hello and respect each other's abilities. They even finish one another's sentences.[20][21] When Silver becomes distracted by a premonition, Blaze expresses concern. Once he explains his wariness of the races, Blaze trusts his intuition and chooses to investigate on her own terms too.

Silver jokes with Blaze, from Sonic the Hedgehog #64
Silver admires Blaze, both for her dedication to protecting others and her ability to illuminate complicated concepts for him. Meanwhile, Blaze admires Silver's ability to act decisively and his desire to do good. Sonic compared their dynamic to his own with Tails, as they help cover each other's weaknesses and bring out their strengths.[22] Notably, Blaze helped him with his garden in the Emeraldville Ruins. At first, Silver was shocked when Blaze burned his garden to the ground, but he trusted her nonetheless and was happy to learn that a fresh start was exactly what the plants needed.[23] In the Eggperial City, when Silver doubted his ability to rescue Shadow, Blaze's reassurance gave him the confidence to try again.[24] After his failure to expose Mimic, Blaze again comforted Silver, and he shared his admiration for her. He was excited to join her when she offered to visit Soleanna together, eager to see more of the beauty in the world that inspired her.[22] The two continued to spend time together for an extended period afterwards.[25]
Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Silver and Sonic racing each other, from Sonic Rivals.
Sonic the Hedgehog is both a good friend and good-natured rival of Silver's. Originally though, Silver was deceived by Mephiles the Dark into thinking that Sonic was the "Iblis Trigger", the person who would set in motion the event leading to the ruination of Silver's era. As such, Silver sought to kill Sonic after going back to his time, his straightforward way of thinking making him see Sonic only as a target needed to be eliminated. He initially also only referred to Sonic as the "Iblis Trigger" with contempt. When they finally met for the first time, Silver took advantage of Sonic's concern for him to hand a critical blow on him during their first fight, showing little concern for or awareness of Sonic's benevolence, and would have killed Sonic had it not been for Amy blocking Sliver from attacking. Afterward, he found his resolve and hostility towards Sonic wavering after seeing the way that Amy revered him as a hero, although he soon regained his resolve to kill Sonic for the greater good.[26][27] Nonetheless, after Shadow thwarted his second attempt to kill Sonic and exposed Mephiles' deceit, Silver located Sonic to team up with him to save Princess Elise from Dr. Eggman, who held the key to saving his era. With Silver explaining that "circumstances have changed", Sonic quickly forgave Silver and the two became friendly allies to save Elise. Towards the end, Silver also got impressed by Sonic's faith in him and willingness to help save his era.[28] Due to a time paradox pulled off by Sonic and Elise however, Silver and Sonic's first encounter was erased from history, causing them to forget their friendship.[29]
Silver and Sonic later met again during the Onyx Island incident. This time around, Silver's impatience, reluctance to share his motivations, and pushy determination to find Eggman Nega caused him to see Sonic as an obstacle getting in his way. Sonic, in turn, did not find Silver's attitude appealing, but nonetheless welcomed him as a challenge to overcome on their shared hunt for Eggman Nega.[30][31] Regardless, Silver would put his dislike of Sonic aside and team up with him to stop Eggman Nega's master plan. After that, he had come to respectfully acknowledge Sonic's bravery and recognized that Sonic's era would be fine with Sonic around to protect it.[32] Even so, when Silver met Sonic again during the Ifrit incident, Silver's straightforward pursuit of Eggman Nega would cause him to compete with Sonic, who sought Eggman Nega as well, once more.[33] When not competing with each other though, Silver and Sonic are much more relaxed towards each other; when they met during the Wisp incident, the two of them were able to maintain a friendly and positive-minded conversation.[34]
Nowadays, Sonic and Silver are very friendly towards each other, immediately working together against common enemies instead of competing for them. Silver in particular has great respect for Sonic and will offer him unwavering support to rely on; during Sonic's final showdown with the Time Eater, Silver came to Sonic's aid by giving him the support needed to take down said monster.[35] Regardless, they still retain a form of friendly rivalry with each other; during the Time Eater incident in particular, Silver would gladly accept Sonic's challenges to a rematch, claiming that it should be fun.[36] Silver has as well shown an understanding of Sonic's thirst for excitement, having once encouraged him to try out some rides in Egg Planet Park just for the fun of it.[34] He is likewise amazed by Sonic's skills.[37] Also, while Silver is willing to offer Sonic help, he knows he can count on him to keep his era peaceful.[38] Likewise, during the War to Take Back the Planet, Silver would mourn Sonic but nonetheless accepted the thought of him being dead at the time after his defeat at the hands of Infinite.
When it comes to the relationship between Silver and Sonic, they both have something the other lacks. While Silver tends to deal with things too head-on because of the strength of his feelings and takes everything upon himself, Sonic is always calm and cool and free to act as he pleases. However, Sonic finds these aspects of Silver appealing due to his purity and endearing virtues. Silver likewise sees Sonic as being capable of doing as he pleases without forgetting to provide support to those around him and knows that he can make it so everything turns out fine. Also, even though he does not think he is capable of acting as freely as Sonic himself, Silver is still relying on him. Additionally, while they have not had many adventures where the two of them spend a lot of time together when they do team up, they are good buddies who can make up for each other's shortcomings.[29]
Shadow the Hedgehog[]

Shadow convincing Silver to follow him into the past, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
Silver and Shadow the Hedgehog have a complex relationship, respecting one another's abilities while maintaining a stubborn rivalry. The two first met during the Solaris incident, when Shadow stopped Silver, who mistook him for Mephiles, from killing Sonic. After their fight, Shadow invited Silver to travel back in time via Dual Chaos Control to learn the truth about Iblis, Mephiles, and the Solaris Project. The two worked together flawlessly to help seal Mephiles and Iblis before coolly parting ways. Shadow seemed impressed by Silver's powers and determination, quickly taking Silver under his wing to set him on the correct path. Meanwhile, Silver seemed slightly in awe of Shadow, and by the end of their time together had grown more mature. When they reunite in Last Episode, Shadow accepts Silver's plan to defeat Solaris at all points in time, only noting they would need Sonic's help to do so.
Since the events regarding Solaris were erased, Silver and Shadow met as if for the first time in the Onyx Island incident. At first, Shadow did not trust Silver's speculation about Dr. Eggman's true identity and repeatedly butted heads with him. After realizing that he was right, the two helped each other in the Meteor Base. At the end of the game, Silver acknowledges Shadow's (and Sonic's) bravery, and is confident that their era will be safe with both hedgehogs protecting it. During the Ifrit incident, however, they are not allies despite both knowing Eggman Nega is the true mastermind yet again; they fight each other at some points due to both being tight-lipped about their goals and stubbornly refusing to trust each other. In Sonic Forces, Silver notes the danger of Shadow's Phantom Copy being as strong as the original Shadow.
When dealing with the Eggperial City, Silver came to Shadow's rescue as he was trapped among the Giant Fake Chaos Emeralds. Shadow urged him to escape, but Silver pushed through and gave him a fearsome pep talk, inspiring both of them to keep fighting.
Amy Rose[]

Silver with Amy, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
During the Solaris incident, Amy Rose mistook Silver for Sonic due to the two being hedgehogs. Amy, who thought he was simply looking for someone, offered to help him if he would help her. Unable to deny her offer, Silver was dragged along with Amy unwillingly for a while, and found her a distraction, while Amy became his friend and promised to help him find the "Iblis Trigger". Eventually, though, Silver's helpful nature kicked in and he set aside his quest momentarily to help her search through Dusty Desert.
Silver's alliance with Amy ended up being only temporary, which ended once Silver found Sonic and tried to kill him. When Amy found out that Silver intended to kill Sonic, she left Silver, which disappointed him, he did seem as if he was going to call her back, but didn't upon realizing that it didn't matter, she would leave anyway. Strangely, when they meet again after Sonic dies and Mephiles and Iblis fuse, she bears no hard feelings towards him for his past actions and encourages him in the fight against Solaris, likely for him having atoned for them. Because of what happens at the end of the game, Silver and Amy met in a different way. During the Phantom Ruby incident, Silver was being optimistic and realistic with Amy about Sonic and Tails, and after having beaten Eggman's forces, they look at each other.
They interacted more after the war, as they worked together against Neo Metal Sonic, and Amy encouraged him to make a garden in Emeraldville Ruins. Amy seems to care about Silver, shown after he got hurt saving Sonic on Frozen Peak, Amy and Sonic took him to Restoration HQ to rest, and she thanked him for his heroism. After the new HQ's destruction, Amy lamented to Silver for happened to the Victory Garden, and she got excited when she heard his plans of making an apple trees orchad out of it.
Dr. Eggman[]
Silver opposes Doctor Eggman and his plans for world domination, but the two do not have a very personal relationship. In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), Silver never actually met Eggman until briefly in Last Episode (an event which was ultimately reset). They briefly worked together to stop Eggman Nega in Sonic Rivals, and in Sonic Rivals 2, Silver only interacted with Eggman Nega under the guise of Eggman. In Sonic Colors (DS), Silver shows contempt for Eggman's Egg Planet Park and ridicules its claim that it represents the future. When Eggman conquers the globe in Sonic Forces, Silver does everything he can to free the world from his control.
Princess Elise III[]

Silver asking for Elise's help, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
Silver initially did not care for Princess Elise, but came to respect her over the course of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). Their connection is first implied in the opening of Sonic Episode, when Elise sees a brief vision of Silver in Sonic's place and expresses familiarity with him. However, Silver spends the first half of the story completely ignoring Elise while hunting Sonic, letting her be kidnapped by Eggman twice. Once he travels to the past, Silver learns that Elise is the vessel of Iblis and even aids in the Duke of Soleanna's ritual to make her so. Afterwards, he carries the child Elise to safety and leaves her the blue Chaos Emerald as a good luck charm; Elise is seen to have kept this Chaos Emerald into the present, and this meeting is likely why she saw a vision of Silver. Back in the present, Silver changes his mission to protecting Elise, and joins forces with Sonic to do so, helping save her life from the Egg Carrier crash. In Last Episode, Silver kneels before Elise as he requests her help to revive Sonic, encouraging her.
After Elise extinguished Solaris, her relationship with Silver was undone. During the Otherworld Incident, Silver and Elise met again, with Elise struggling to perform her ice skating routine as the music reminds her of her late parents. Silver then arrives as a famous ice-skating coach and gifts his blue pendant to her as a 'lucky charm'. The two practice for an upcoming ice-skating tournament, with Silver's kindness kindling Elise's courage to be able to perform her routine. When Elise becomes saddened after failing a trick, he encourages the princess by telling her that all her efforts are going towards the future. The two perform their routine perfectly on the night and share a moment after the event where Elise returns his pendant and recalls his advice from earlier, causing the duo to exchange a laugh.[39]
Once the pair both regained their memories when the Phantom Ruby was destroyed, Elise is seen laughing and teasing Silver for his inability to pick up on the hints Amy had been dropping pertaining to her outfit choices with Blaze. When he still doesn't pick up on the hints, Elise is amused at how little he understands. [40]
Espio the Chameleon[]

Silver and Espio the Chameleon from Sonic Rivals 2.
Espio the Chameleon appears to be one of Silver's closest friends, with the two having met during the Ifrit incident. Before they met, Espio was given an assignment by Vector the Crocodile to find out information about the recent Chao disappearances. He began to investigate Silver, a prime suspect, which the hedgehog found annoying. Eventually, the two set aside their differences and teamed up in order to stop Eggman Nega and his plans. Once they completed their mission, the two bid each other farewell, in hopes of meeting each other again. During the War to Take Back the Planet, they work in the Resistance together, with Espio agreeing with Silver that they will have to continue without Sonic and Tails. Espio would also help Silver attack the Phantom Copies.

Silver hugging Espio, from Sonic the Hedgehog Annual 2022
Silver and Espio get along well and developed a partnership based on their shared will for justice. Espio is mindful of Silver's well-being and recognizes when he is bothered. Their relationship reinforces at Harvest Day, when Espio saw Silver leave and followed him. While they discuss, they find common points, notably their fear of losing. Espio then tells Silver how he does not let his fears consume him and to protect people who needs him. His words comforted Silver not to give up and to keep fighting for his principles, but also for his world and his friends. He then thanked Espio with a hug, much to his surprise.[41]
Vector the Crocodile[]
During the Onyx Island incident, Vector linked several Chao disappearances to Silver and had Espio track the hedgehog down, unaware of him trying to protect them. The Chaotix later fought alongside Silver as part of the Resistance, combining their powers to take down Phantom Copies of their past enemies created by the Phantom Ruby.
Silver and Vector eventually found themselves in the middle of Dodon Pa's Grand Prix in Team Sonic Racing, where Silver was willing to join Team Vector, jokingly adding he would only do so to bail the crocodile out of trouble once he ran into some, claiming Vector would definitely run into trouble.
Mephiles the Dark[]

Mephiles conversing with Silver, from Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
During the Solaris incident, Silver was manipulated by Mephiles the Dark into hunting down Sonic. Desperate for a chance to defeat Iblis once and for all, Silver recklessly believed Mephiles' narrative that Sonic was the "Iblis Trigger" and traveled back in time with him to kill Sonic. He initially carried out this order unquestioningly, until his faith was shaken by an encounter with Amy. Afterwards, Silver began seeking context on his own terms, growing reluctant to follow Mephiles. He learned the truth after traveling back in time with Shadow to witness the birth of Mephiles and Iblis in the Solaris Project. Silver then completely dropped Mephiles' mission and chose to help Sonic rescue Princess Elise instead. After Mephiles killed Sonic himself and released Iblis to reunite as Solaris, Silver showed agitation at realizing the villain had tricked him into nearly causing a catastrophe even worse than his devastated future was in the first place.
Knuckles the Echidna[]

Silver and Knuckles the Echidna face off against Chaos, from Sonic Forces: Stress Test.
Silver and Knuckles have a small rivalry with each other. Normally, they don't pay much attention to each other, though they have had heated battles with one another occasionally. When Silver and Knuckles first met during the Onyx Island incident, they were initially hostile to each other due to Silver being uncommunicative, but they later put aside their differences and willingly teamed up together. During the Ifrit incident, they were briefly cordial at first until Silver took offense at Knuckles mocking him for thinking saving the Chao could save the world. During the Phantom Ruby incident, Knuckles was the first-person Silver warned about Eggman's attack, which led to the War to Take Back the Planet. Silver seems to be one of Knuckles' most trusted lieutenants and they work well together.
Eggman Nega[]

Silver and Eggman Nega in Sonic Rivals 2.
Eggman Nega is Silver's arch-enemy. Both of them hail from the same time in the future, and according to Silver, he has been chasing Eggman Nega for a long time. Seemingly used to his tricks, he is one of the few characters in both games to deduce that Nega is actually disguising himself as Eggman.[42] Silver is relentless in his pursuit of Eggman Nega and takes defeating him very seriously, something the latter seems to find amusing yet frustrating, constantly taunting Silver while running away. Eggman Nega often tells Silver that he is impressed by his determination and intuition, but still wants to destroy him to keep him from ruining his plans.[43][44] Silver ultimately figured that Eggman Nega was better off stuck in the Ifrit's dimension than capable of causing more trouble, leaving him trapped there rather than bringing him to justice.[45]
Whisper the Wolf[]

Silver and Whisper, from Sonic the Hedgehog #28.
Silver is a fan of Whisper the Wolf, who saved his life many times during the Eggman War. Originally knowing her only as the legendary "Guardian Angel," the very idea that she was nearby enough to get him excited. When he finally met Whisper, Silver accidentally intimidated her with his eagerness and intrusiveness, confusing him. However, he came to understand that she preferred solitude. When Silver later saved Whisper's life, he praised her team of Wisps and told her that he would be proud to be considered a part of it, which Whisper partially admitted.[46] The two once again proved to be dependable allies during the Metal Virus plague, where they worked together to defeat Zor of the Deadly Six and retrieve the Chaos Emerald that was in his possession.[47] Whisper was also the only one to believe Silver's claim that Duo abandoned him to the Giant Chopper and joined him in trying to expose the newbie as Mimic; when their plan failed, she apologized to Silver profusely.[22] When he returned to the Diamond Cutters from his world tour with Blaze, Whisper asks if he would like to help them "stop" Mimic, he quickly and seriously agrees.
Zor[]

Silver vs Zor, from Sonic the Hedgehog #28.
Silver first met Zor during the Zombot apocalypse. Their personalities stand in stark contrast to each other; while Silver is a bright optimist who only wants to help others and ensure a happy future, Zor is a gloomy pessimist who likes to inflict suffering on himself and others and ensure a gruesome future. As such, both of them are unable to understand the other's attitudes. Silver himself considers Zor to be rather twisted, and the latter does not understand why Silver can be so heroic and selfless. However, Silver's faith in his victory, his belief in a better future and trust in his friends allowed him to defeat Zor. After defeating Zor, Silver left him to the Zombots, departing without a farewell.[48]
Lanolin the Sheep[]

Silver accepst Lanolin's apologies and thanks her, from Sonic the Hedgehog #76.
Silver and Lanolin the Sheep first work together to fight Eggman in his Eggperial City, but they did not interact. Later, they did interacted with each other when Silver joined the Diamond Cutters on their training exercise in Green Hill, which has a bad ending as "Duo" kicks Silver, making him drops rocks on the team. After the aftermath with the Giant Chopper, Lanolin doesn't believe him when he claims "Duo "ditched him, and when he says everything was an accident, she doesn't accept this excuse and reprimands him for not having control of his powers and tells him to do better next time, to which he reluctantly agrees. When he and Whisper try to expose Duo as a Mimic, Lanolin doesn't believe him, and after he fails to prove his suspicions, Lanolin blames him for the chaos when Jewel asks what happened. Calling him irresponsible, Lanolin votes for Silver to stay away from the Diamond Cutters, to which he simply humbly accepted.
But despite what happened, Silver apparently has never held a grudge against Lanolin, as he decided to see how she and her team dealing with the consequences of Restoration HQ's destruction even after what happened between them. When Silver arrives to the place the Diamond Cutters are sitting, Lanolin immediately turns her head away as soon as he shows up, apparently embarrassed after the way she treated him. Lanolin genuinely apologizes to her friends, apologizing the most to Whisper and Silver, he forgives her and thanks her. Silver would later bring her, the rest of the Diamond Cutters, Jewel, Belle and Motobud together for a group hug.
Mimic the Octopus[]

Silver blames "Duo", from Sonic the Hedgehog #63.
Silver first met Mimic the Octopus when he was taking the appearance as "Duo the Cat", during issue #63. During a Re-Greening effort, "Duo" purposefully trips Silver whilst he uses his psychokinesis, resulting in Silver almost crushing the Diamond Cutters. Later on, when a Giant Chopper almost attempts to chomp Silver, instead of helping, "Duo" hints at himself being Mimic, and abandons Silver. This infuriates Silver, who calls him out for abandoning him. Later in Issue #64, Silver attempts to reveal Mimic's identity, which causes Mimic to fake an injury, getting Silver kicked off the Diamond Cutters. Although they haven't spoken since, Silver seems to hold a grudge against Mimic for setting him up, as he quickly and seriously agrees to help Whisper and Tangle "stop" him.
