The Shocker is an enemy that appears in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. They are a model of Destruction Troops created by Lyric the Last Ancient.

Appearance

The Shocker's body consists of a single green eyeball with a purple iris and brown armor plating covering the majority of it, except a small opening on the front. Additionally, it has a noticeably thick plating on its lower front, a vertical horn and thin leaf-like wings on its sides.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric

The Shocker in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

In Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, the Shockers were created by Lyric the Last Ancient over a thousand years ago to help with his schemes to destroy the earth. Before Lyric could achieve his goal though, he was imprisoned and the Shockers were left to rust. However, Lyric left some Shockers behind to be found so the finders would set him free to learn the Shockers' secrets. After Lyric escaped, he soon reactivated and/or reclaimed all his Shockers.

The Shockers are a one of the most frequent enemies in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and usually appear together with three or more of themselves where they act as support to other enemies. They are first encountered in the last proportion of Lyric's Tomb.

In battle, the Shockers move around erratically and at surprisingly fast speeds, and when approaching them too slowly they fly away. When attacking, they give off a few white ripples as they come to a standstill in the air for a second before firing three-four lasers at the player. To have a better chance at beating the Shockers, the player must use the Enerbeam to either throw them into walls or pull them in up close, though they will in the latter chase fly away shortly after being released. Otherwise, they have low health, meaning they can be taken out with a few hits. When destroyed, the Shockers release a single Ring and a small amount of Robot Scrap.

After Team Sonic defeated Lyric, all the Shockers were subsequently scrapped.

The Shockers are noted to be very pesky, similar to that of a mosquito.

Powers and abilities

The Shockers are capable of flight using their wings, and are very speedy and agile, similar to a fly. For offensive abilities, they can shoot green energy beams from their eye.

• The Shocker is the only Destruction Trooper to appear in both Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal.
• In an unused biography for Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, the Shocker is named "Beam Drone".
