Shield Bot (シールドロボット, Shīrudo Robotto^?, lit. "Shield Robot") is a POW move used by Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Tails deploys a droid with a force field to fortify himself or an ally.

Description

When performing Shield Bot, Tails walks up in front of his team and pulls out a small white dome-shaped robot, with a blue ring on the bottom and a propeller on top, which is equipped with a force field. Tails then deploys that robot by sending it to one of his team members so it can surround him/her with a force field. The chosen team member will then be surrounded by a pulsating purple dome as Tails returns to his team position, and will remain so until Shield Bot wears off.

In gameplay, when performing Shield Bot, the player is able to give any of his/hers characters in battle the Fortified status effect for a few rounds. The higher the level of Shield Bot is, the greater the effect will the Fortified status effect have on the target.

Real-Time Interaction

When performing Shield Bot in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute the Shield Bot optimally:

1. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it in a small curve on the left part of the screen from top of the screen to the bottom.
2. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it in a small curve on the fight part of the screen from bottom of the screen to the top.

Missing or not touching this circle correctly will result in Tails failing to perform Shield Bot.
